Business / Estonian E-residency; Start, Run A Location Independent European Company. by Ussyberry(m): 8:55am On Feb 08, 2016 |
The Republic of Estonia is the first country to offer e-Residency — a transnational digital identity available to anyone in the world interested in administering a location-independent business online. e-Residency additionally enables secure and convenient digital services that facilitate credibility and trust online. e-Residents can: Digitally sign documents and contracts Verify the authenticity of signed documents Encrypt and transmit documents securely Establish an Estonian company online. A physical address in Estonia is required to establish an Estonian company. An Estonian address may be obtained via an external service provider. Administer the company from anywhere in the world. Conduct e-banking and remote money transfers. Establishing an Estonian bank account currently requires one in-person meeting at the bank. E-residents are not guaranteed bank accounts and may establish them at the sole discretion of our banking partners. Access online payment service providers Declare Estonian taxes online. e-Residency does not automatically establish tax residency. To learn about taxation and to avoid double taxation please consult a tax professional. All of these (and more) efficient and easy-to-use services have been available to Estonians for over a decade. By offering e-Residents the same services, Estonia is proudly pioneering the idea of a country without borders. e-Residents receive a smart ID card which provides: digital identification and authentication to secure services digital signing of documents digital verification of document authenticity document encryption. Digital signatures and authentication are legally equivalent to handwritten signatures and face-to-face identification in Estonia and between partners upon agreement anywhere around the world. Recent changes in EU law mean that within the next few years Estonian e-residents will be able to easily identify themselves, access online services, and conduct business across Europe. The e-Resident ID card and services are built on state-of-the-art technological solutions, including 2048-bit public key encryption. The smart ID card contains a microchip with two security certificates: one for authentication, called PIN1, and another for digital signing, called PIN2. PIN1 is a minimum 4-digit number used for authorization, and PIN2 is a minimum 5-digit number for digital signing. e-Residency does not confer citizenship, tax residency, residence or right of entry to Estonia or to the European Union. The e-Resident smart ID card is not a physical identification or a travel document, and does not display a photo. https://e-estonia.com/e-residents/about/

nairaspace: Yeah! I was there in December. Had earlier applied and got approved so I went to get the card and do the biometrics. As soon as I got the card I went to the bank as advised to identify myself as the company wasn't registered yet. the company was registered in January, did the digital signing from here. Now the company bank account has been opened, didn't have to appear because I had already been into a branch earlier. So far so good Also with the card you can apply online for a schengen visa with http://instavisa.eu .........when they start operating 1 Like |

I've asked myself that same question so many times. Some say seniorage, some say convertibility but nobody has ever really satisfied me. Imagine someone wants to go to China, in nigeria the person has to go and buy dollar. Even euro is getting hard to see suddenly. |

Officially you are supposed to apply at the Belgian embassy. You can however get a shengen visa from most European embassies and then travel to Tallinn when you have entered the schengen zone. |

Travel / Re: Layover In Turkey To Schengen Country by Ussyberry(m): 8:35pm On Nov 07, 2015 |
Exactly. One guy is insisting that since I plan a layover in Istanbul I must fill turkey there. Turkey is a European country as per location but it's not in schengen, it's not even in the European Union. If for example you were going to France with a German or Dutch airline with a layover in Another schengen country then your member country of first entry and country of destination can be different. |
Travel / Layover In Turkey To Schengen Country by Ussyberry(m): 7:51pm On Nov 07, 2015 |
Hello people, When you are filling the schengen visa form and you plan to enter the schengen country, lets say France via Istanbul with turkish airlines, what is your "member state of first entry"? Is it turkey or France? |

OhiGentle: It depends on your lifestyle Their money, dobras is almost useless, I remember that 8000 naira was about a million dobra, their money is pegged to the euro. Check booking.com for hotels so you can budget properly. Sweet guest house is not the cheapest but it's very nice. Food is cheap though, and they don't have stew. If you ask for beef (bife) they will give you pork so ask for "vaca" which is cow meat and is very very scarce. They don't have cows there. |

You can get the visa online. Check your bulk mail or spam everyday for a week after applying just in case. The most "comfortable" flight is from Accra via Tap Portugal. From lagos with aero and the Tap Portugal flight 120k should do return. That's 4flights. Bus to accra will make it cheaper, increase the adventure and give you more stamps in your passport. If you haven't done the west African coast road trip before you can go to Accra by road, fly return with Tap Portugal and then return with aero back to lagos. But that will save you less than 20k plus you will need to stay one day in Accra that can be avoided by flying in with the first aero flight from lagos If you get the visa (entry authorization) online you pay for it on arrival in São Tomé. €20 when you arrive and €20 when you are leaving, make sure you have change when you are leaving. Very important. They don't speak English and in my opinion don't like Nigerians but it's very safe. You can also get the visa from the embassy in Asokoro somewhere near force hq and protea but do the online, u know embassy people, police report etc. plus it's more expensive as per fees Perfume is expensive and you can't buy international chocolate. Mars etc Local chocolate is far far better though. Your Nigerian sim will not roam. You can get a local sim easily with your visa and passport. Stay in pestana equador hotel weekdays and pestana São Tomé weekends because of night life. But these hotels cost wella. Sweet guest house is the best place to be, free wifi and you feel very much at home. Hope this helps 2 Likes 1 Share |
