Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Is It Better To Quit Or Continue With This Job? by UtilityImage: 9:09am On Apr 24, 2021
Please, don't listen to anything other than quit the job.
Your peace, mental stability and self esteem is what you have to guard jealousy. Don't trade it for anything.
Its the attitude of employers these days that gets to me.
When you quit, kindly tell us the name of the company so that we can treat the matter online(Dragging things) and save others working there too.

Hello, here are my thoughts about your concerns. I have been with Sterling Global Oil for about 4years and counting.
Work culture: Some do 28days in and 14days out. Some 21 in and 7out. Bottom line is, it depends on your unit.
Environment is generally poor.
Salaries: Not really up to Industry standard.
Sterling is an Indian conglomerate. Least I forget, salary is negotiable. I'm open for more info. Thanks
Hi can you assist me with information about Sterling Oil because I don't trust some of this oil companies.
Eg: is Salary payment constant?
How is there general culture; Work-life stuff?
Is it where one can grow?
Dp they have project sites?

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: How To Identify A Scam Interview Invitation by UtilityImage: 5:23pm On Oct 20, 2020
It all started like a joke and lots of excitement knowing I secured a job at United Geophysical (Nig) Ltd.
An oil Servicing firm involved in seismic data acquisition for oil companies.
I wasn't asked how much I expected as salary so I thought they must have a well structured salary scale.
Unfortunately, it turned out that a company managed by the British/Scottish is worse that an average Nigerian run business. They offer letter came and the salary was nothing to right home about.
Fast forward a bit, salaries are been owed even up to 1year plus for old staff and that joined experienced it too.
One month turned to 2months, 3months, 4months 5months 6months until it dawned on me that its not about Big name, its about management.
Even with all the fund available, the expatriate will not approve for salary payment.
This went on and on until I left the company and I am still being owed months.
Do not be deceived by how the company looks from the outside, it is poorly run and I won't even suggest that place for my enemy.
It was the worst career experience I have had all my life and irrespective of the good staff there, just like Nigeria everyone there is suffering and smiling.
Today I have forgotten the experience but it wasn't a good one

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Urgent Vacancies Accountant And Waitress by UtilityImage: 6:08pm On Oct 04, 2020
Kindly try and get a cashier and not an Accountant.
You can't be seeking an Accountant and offering to pay N40k.
Recruiters please stop this act. People went to school to get a return on their study investment.
KNOWLEDGE SHOULD PAY and not EXPLOITED!!!.
Thank you

Jobs/Vacancies / Flaws Of Some Recruiters by UtilityImage: 8:56pm On Sep 22, 2020
Searching for job can be draining but what is more discouraging is getting your CV modified to the best standard and still not get an invite after applying to more than 20-30 opening.
For those who get an invite, after the interview, recruiters will turn on their "Ghost mode".
They called you to schedule an interview but won't let you know the outcome or even the reason why you weren't selected.
Being a recruiter doesn't make you a Lord over the candidate, you are just doing your work so do a good job not a smart job.
If you can take the pain to shortlist candidates after receiving tons of CVs, aleast try and give a feedback and advice on ways to improve. We don't know it all.
Also,Interview process is not an interrogating process but an opportunity to assess who the cap fit so make the atmosphere conducive by being nice and friendly not bossy or should I say "Lordy".
Even when the candidate isn't getting it right, don't make them feel they have lost it, if you have the time give the correct answer/explanation politely. Don't be like our lectures in university that stresses student. These candidates have been through a lot even during the school days. Remember, our Education system is theoretical but work itself is practical.
Most some people have exam knowledge but not practical.
Even the bible said in Act chapter 1, " How Jesus began to do and teach. Doing comes before teaching.
The point here is:
1. Recruiters should always give feedback no matter what.
2. They should let the candidate know why He/She wasn't selected and ways to improve if necessary.
3. During the interview process don't be Harsh or a fault finder.
4. Always shortlist the right set of people. Don't invite a candidate with 5 years experience and offer peanut as remuneration when the a fresh graduate can handle the job if trained or put through. Knowledge should be paid for not played on.
5. Always remember recruitment is part of Human resources and the last I checked there is still a "Human" attached before Resources so act like one because without Being Human, resources is useless.
God bless all Recruiters.
God answer everyone seeking new opportunity.
Above all God bless the works of our hands.
