FAQs:
How do I know the worker is really who they say they are?
Every worker on Discover has verified their real NIN, their government identity. It's not a name they just typed in; it's checked against the national identity database. On top of that, workers can add BVN, address, guarantor, references, and police clearance to build more trust. So the identity on the profile is genuinely theirs.

Can somebody just use another person's NIN to form somebody they're not?
No. A NIN can only be verified on one profile. Once it's used, it cannot be reused on another account. So nobody can borrow another person's identity to pass verification.

What is this trust score, and can workers just fake good reviews?
The trust score is a rating out of 100, built from references left by real employers after an actual hire, covering reliability, professionalism, communication, quality of work, and punctuality. And no, the reviews can't be faked. References only come from real paid connections tied to genuine hires, and the system flags and blocks funny business like self-reviews, reviews from linked phones, or people forming a small group to hype each other. A rating only counts when it's genuinely earned.

What if the hire still goes wrong?
VeraStaff verifies identity and shows you the trust signals so you can decide with your eyes open, but you should still do your own due diligence, the same way you would with anybody you're bringing into your home or onto your project. If a worker misbehaves, you can report the profile in the app and the team reviews it.

How much does it cost?
Free to download and browse. You only pay a one-off connection fee when you want to reveal a worker's contact and arrange the hire. No subscription, no monthly charge, nothing recurring. Workers pay a small one-off fee to verify their NIN and appear on Discover.

Is my data safe?
Yes. VeraStaff is registered with Nigeria's Data Protection Commission and handles your data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act. We also don't store the sensitive parts of your verification ourselves; the identity check is done by a licensed verification provider.

I'm outside the country. Can I use it to hire for my family back home?
Yes. The app is available in the UK, US, and Canada for exactly this. You can browse and hire verified workers in Nigeria from wherever you are, straight from the map, so the people helping your family are people whose identity has actually been checked.
