Not farfetched.
Edo is about to witness a return to the days when revenue collection were the exclusive affairs of the NBM boys and similar riffraffs.

May the state survive the oncoming onslaught.
Both are patrons to Sec not Nbm find out .....
PoliticsRe: Edo Governor Elect, Okpebholo Goes To Pay Homage To The Oba Of Benin by Uyigue12(m): 7:56am On Sep 23, 2024
emkz:
Well.

This is a smart move. Obaseki, in his power drunk stupor, even took on the Oba of Benin over the place to keep the looted artefacts that were to be returned.

Was that fight necessary?

When Oba of Benin called Oshiomole, Obaseki, Ize-Iyamu and Shaibu to make peace in 2020, only Obaseki attempted to gloat that he was the chief security officer of Edo State, and the Oba asked him to keep quiet as he was uninterested in hearing Obaseki's rantings.

Obaseki fought too many persons and even the palace became a factor in the politics.

Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama was seen in a video when he decamped saying he'd deliver Oredo to APC. Ogbeide-Ihama had relinquished his PDP ticket to Obaseki in 2020 only for Obaseki to fight him for control.
So let us ask Obaseki the following question:

How did Obaseki manage to lose the following persons:

(1) Adams Oshiomole?
(2) Nyesom Wike?
(3) Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama?
(4) Edo legacy PDP?
(5) Philip Shaibu?
(6) Benin Traditional Council?
(7) Dan Orbih?
(8 ) Anslem Ojezua?
(9) Edo elites?

What did Obaseki think he could accomplish with:

(1) Omobayo Marvelous Godwins?
(2) People who sing his praises a,d were too afraid to tell him the truth?

If there is any lesson to be learnt, it is to say if you have a huge financial war chest, but lack people skills, you won't be able to install a successor. Tinubu has been a successful politician because he possesses people skills.

Obaseki caused a rift between Oshiomole and Oshiomole's team when Oshiomole forced Obaseki on them. Obaseki humiliated Oshiomole when Oshiomole kicked him out of APC. PDP gave Obaseki succour only for Obaseki to mess up every one who worked for his second term. Obaseki ended up causing rancour in PDP, divided PDP and PDP went into election divided, as they were divided in the 2023 presidential election.

Obaseki's political enemies joined forces and we now see the result.

I don't know if he was a good governor. If he was, he'd have had the people on his side. If he was and had poor people skills, it would cost him severely.

Dear Governor Obaseki, who are your friends in Edo State? I mean real friends?
God bless you......this are point I wish someone can show obaseki to reflect on and amend his ways fast cos i see a big humiliation awaiting him at the end of his tenure......obaseki was a just a learned fool.
FoodRe: Would You Try This Interesting Ghanaian Dish? (picture) by Uyigue12(m): 10:37pm On Aug 05, 2024
Mariangeles:
I don't know what this dish is called, but it certainly looks interesting.

From my observation, I think grinded fresh peppers is the base (Ghanaians eat peppers raw quite a lot), then seasoned and garnished with other orisirisi.

Would you try this interesting dish?
If you would, what food would you eat it with?
For me, I think I can dare to try it with rice.
I'm quite sure it has a nice aroma.
this is a nice Ghanaian delicacy for banku or eba ..... charlie I miss... Ghana

The writeup is already a clue that this is another story to rile NLders up. No man with an adulterous wife would be on NL writing like Shakespeare. But if at all it is true and he wants to divorce, he should divorce. I can't beg any man not to leave his wife. Men don't benefit from marriage.
Really.... thanks for saying the truth

Then my route is the most preferable. You need to have low expectations, be realistic and amenable to changes considering the culture, distance, language and your age. To cut cost, first come alone as carrying dependents would triple your costs. If you don't have plenty of money, don't target the Kanto and Kansai regions. Yes, other regions have fewer jobs, lower salaries and few foreigners, but they will be good starting points to quickly and by fire, by force grasp the language.

You would not be the first person that I know who has a family back home in Africa. But those folks are younger than you are and know Japanese to great levels.

P.S. The entire search about schools is entirely on you. Search for Majisuka's posts and read them.
thank you so much bro ....for the school I will sir........but how much should be my budget plan as am not too rich targeting 6million both school fees and package ?

Gerrard59:
Although I don't know your end game for wanting to relocate, but I'll drop my nuggets based on my experience (how the society works, what I have read and what I think).

As a 38-year-old man, you will find universities to admit you but might not be the top 15 or Imperial Universities (Japan's version of the Ivy League). Universities will admit you because there are few students to pick from, as birth rates are declining rapidly. Japan has many universities, so I implore you to do your research starting from here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_national_universities_in_Japan

Why national universities? They are cheaper, just like Federal Universities in Nigeria. Public universities exist, but cost slightly higher than national universities, aka state universities in Nigeria. Then private universities, just like dem Covenant and Madonna.

Depending on your program and finances, I recommend you opt for a research student (研究生) position in a national university outside the Kanto and Kansai regions. You spend six months learning the nitty-gritty of your eventual research theme, then apply officially to be admitted into the MSc program. You will be allowed to work part-time (28 hours max per week). Part-time jobs are plentiful. As your Japanese improves, your options widen, and salaries increase. Preferably head to the Kyushu region as it has jobs (Fukokoa and Kyushu itself) or Chugoku (Hiroshima and Tottori).: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_regions_of_Japan

Why outside Kansai and Kanto? Those regions have the major cities in the country and are expensive. Also, because of the high number of foreigners in both regions, you will use English occasionally. Due to your age, language school is out of the question as none will admit you without an N3 certificate. Since you are coming in as a graduate student and also advanced in age intending to "hustle", you need to be in an environment with minimal English usage and more Japanese.

All things being equal, you will graduate by 42, depending on the route you enter (research student or graduate student) and when you commence your studies. However, upon graduation, due to your age, don't expect plum jobs because there are way many young people (foreigners, homegrown and foreign-grown Japanese) with superior degrees, skills and experience who will be preferred. But you will get jobs, but not the best of them. If you choose any areas outside Kanto and Kansai, you might get a factory job depending on your network and Japanese ability. Factory jobs pay pretty well, depending on the industry, but you will work very hard and long hours (it is a tradition here). Your options within those non-Kanto and Kansai areas will increase if you have technical skills like tech. Salaries won't be as high as in Kanto and Kansai, but the cost of living would be low.

As a graduate student, you can bring dependents, which is subject to your proof of finance submitted to immigration authorities. Ultimately, it depends on what you intend to achieve out of the process and long-term goals. Finally, searching for schools and following the entire process depends on you.

Best wishes!
thank you so much for the honest response,I intend staying permanently with family in time to come..... and secure a better life for myself and my family.

That can be recommended if the person has good work experience in Nigeria which can be transferable and goes to an OK university. Oluseun-Akinrinoye. To reduce any stress upon arrival, because at that age, body go don dey tire.

I have just moved to South Korea and I'm so glad I did it. I love this country and its people. South Korea is indeed a vibrant and exciting country with a rich culture, delicious food, and many things to see and do. It is known for its beautiful landscapes, its bustling cities, and its rich history. The capital city, Seoul, is particularly popular with visitors, thanks to its many tourist attractions, such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, the War Memorial of Korea, and the bustling shopping districts of Myeong-dong and Gangnam especially their karaoke rooms like 강남초원의집. That being said, living in South Korea is a real pleasure.
