For an American citizen who wants to visit Nigeria, He must have a Nigeria visa. He can do apply for the visa online or by using a visa agent with Nigeria. Visa agents usually made the process faster. The American citizen also needs other important information before embarking on a trip to Nigeria. Check here:

Hello friends,

I am a U.S. national in the U.S. visiting Nigeria for a short-term consultancy soon. I contacted the private company in charge of visa requests in the U.S., and they said it could take up to 15 business days to get a visa! I really don't have that kind of time.

I also saw on Nigeria's immigration website that there is a Visa on Arrival program. I believe I fulfill all the requirements for it. Trouble is that I've read some horror stories from a few years ago on the internet saying that visitors were turned away at the airports because immigration officials there did not even know VoA existed! Is this still the case? I ask because there are some recent news stories about liberalisation of the VoA process.

Tl;dr: is visa on arrival a real thing in Nigeria?

Many thanks!

There are two ways of applying for the Nigeria visa on arrival.
1. Through the Nigeria online visa application portal.
2. Through your host or an agent residing in Nigeria
Applying through an agent in Nigeria is usually the best as visa applicants have consistently complained of frequent delays while applying through the online portal. Agents however, will be able to cut through the bureaucracies and facilitate the entire process. Send an email to assist@travelvisa.ng. They can help with this.

please which website are you referring to. i need to obtain a Visa on Arrival for my baby Urgently.

Getting a visa on arrival from the Nigerian embassy in other countries is usually a lot of unnecessary stress and delays. Sometimes it takes months to achieve what should have taken 48 hours.
The best and easiest way of getting a Nigeria Visa on Arrival for a baby and other foreigners is through an agent residing in Nigeria. That way, they will be able to cut through the bureaucracies and facilitate the entire process. Send an email to assist@travelvisa.ng. They can help with this.
