all4naija:
On a general ground there are every evidence that Linux(which is not what the topic is all about − but Ubuntu which is a particular Linux) is more secured than Windows. You made mentioned of not being prone to Viruses.

I know you didn't read my comments to understand what I am trying to point out but did look for an avenue to make it looks like I am putting Windows down. I am new to Linux. I have used Windows for almost all my life but the differences of Vista from Windows 7 made me change my mind. I can't be ripped off for a simple reason Windows 7 was just a polished Vista and made to be paid for after Microsoft not making it to expectation with Vista product.

Well, I am using both operating systems at the moment. I think Open Source Packages like Ubuntu broadens my mind and help me to learn something interesting without paying much yet beneficial to my community. The disadvantages are there but, as the developers community get larger it will get better.

Just my two cent contribution.
For the sake of peace. .i'll let this slide. cheesy
At least you admit being new to Ubuntu&Open Source content. Welcome bro wink

The only thing we have to thank Cesc for is his inch-perfect pass, nothing more*dodging stones*. .he's been less than inspirational when it matters. A captain who has no voice, who drops his head when things don't go well on the pitch. .who can't stamp his authority on the field and in the locker room sad.

If plan A fails, we fall apart as there's no plan B. .well we can always knock the ball around.

AW should let him leave BUT for the right amount - 45million. .he'll then spend half a season or more watching Iniesta and Xavi from the bench.

Dunno about anyone else but for me. .

Nasri holds the ball better.
Nasri defends better.
Nasri dribbles better.
Nasri has no cloud hanging over his head.

In other news, e be like say we wan do cash plus player for Cahill and i'm hearing its Lansbury or Denilson. .your thoughts? undecided

all4naija,
I don't do long epistles.
You cited security as a flaw in Windows, i countered it from a hacker's point of view by saying Linux Ubuntu could be hacked as well ( it does have its own flaws/security loopholes).

Here's what you're said:

All4naija: *beats gong to get peoples attention* Ubuntu Linux is more secured than Windows! *throws a huge party*
And in the 'same' breathe you say
All4naija: Ermm, my people. .I meant to say the security of Ubuntu is in your hands o. .not in the O.S itself. E ma binu #hokaybye *drops mic*

Do you talk from both sides of your mouth huh

PS - Arsenal allegedly turned down a £10m bid for Diaby. Does anyone agree with that decision?
We need additional cover for both Wilshere and Song (just incase we don't get a DM/AM as he plays both) and with Denilson likely to leave, we can't lose another in that department. So, this is in a way is good news.

Pls, i want to buy a DELL Vostro 1000 Laptop from someone who bought it 2yrs ago(new). Is this laptop good and he is selling it for N55,000. And these are its configurations: [1GB RAM, 120GB hard disk size, AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual core processor TK-55 1.80 GHz, 32-bit operating system, Windows Vista
Rating: 2.8 Windows Experience index. Pls tell me.
Depends on what you want to use it for
If you're into graphics/movie editing and the likes. .this config is a NO NO.
If you just want to do basic Word processing, Spread-sheeting and the likes. .then it looks good.

But with THAT Windows Index Score. .I'm sorry but it's a NO. .don't buy it.

You wouldn't want to buy something you'd end up wishing you never bought, abi?

*sigh*
There's no need for long speech. .it all comes down to one thing, SECURITY (whether Open Source or Licensed).

I very well know Ubuntu is quite different from Linux Redhat. .I only referenced Redhat cuz it felt like you were implying (i could be wrong though) why pay for a Windows-Licensed OS when it's STILL less "secure" than whatever free BSD/Distros we have in the Ubuntu/Kubuntu market?

all4naija:
Note: From an observation, I can tell you don't find Ubuntu rather Linux interesting.
Naaah, you're TOTALLY wrong on this one grin cheesy

As a teaser. .aside virus attacks, what are other security features Ubuntu holds over Windows? smiley
I'm willing to learn from you sir. . smiley

Oh and btw, don't you need a license to run Linux RedHat? undecided
ComputersRe: Ubuntu Linux by v3: 4:58pm On Jun 27, 2011
More secured doesn't mean it can't be hacked. .get my drift? wink
Yes it's Open Source, yes you don't need to run anti-viruses on it. .yes, it's more engaging than winblows (I use Linux Mint btw on a virtual machine) and i've picked up a few tricks and i know some of the advantages it has over winblows but what we're on about here is 'how secure' it is?

Is it more secure than windows? I'll give that you. .but is it hackable. .YES! which flaws your 'security' logic in every sense of the word.

I hope you know the meaning of the word SECURE. wink
