Liverpool vs Manchester United

Manchester United will play the last match of their run of four straight games on the road at Anfield against a Liverpool team, who till recently showed sparks of a revival but have fallen a bit flat since. Evidence of their patchy form is their last two results in the league, a loss to 19th place West Ham and a draw at home against rock-bottom Wigan, and all this coming after a brilliant victory away at defending champions Chelsea

Manchester United on the other hand, lost at Chelsea in midweek to bring the title race between them and Arsenal ever so close, leading the league by four points having played a game more than the Gunners. The reverse fixture between the two teams produced one of the games of the season, with Manchester United narrowly staving a Liverpool comeback thanks to Dimitar Berbatov's brilliant hat-trick. The two teams also met in the FA Cup this season, where a Ryan Giggs penalty was the difference between them, Liverpool crashing out of the Cup at the hands of their arch-rivals.

The Merseyside club will have their own motives while plotting United's downfall this weekend. The bitter rivalry between the two clubs is age-old, and Manchester United are tied with Liverpool on 18 league titles­­. If the Red Devils win the Premier League come May, they will move to 19, which will give them bragging rights against the Liverpudlians.

Arsenal will attempt to just close the gap on leaders Manchester United to a mere point when they take on Sunderland at the Emirates this weekend. Sir Alex Ferguson's men suffered a 2-1 defeat to rivals Chelsea, which has enabled the Gunners to heave the pressure on the English Premier League leaders.

Arsene Wenger's men returned to confidence and reinstated their dominating presence on world football with a 5-0 thrashing of League One outfit Leyton Orient. The win followed the North London giants' shock 2-1 loss in the Carling Cup final to Birmingham City, a team many believed Arsenal would dismantle easily and diminish their five-season trophy drought.

The Black Cats are eighth in the league table and have acquired a victory in their last four EPL outings. However, the two sides met in September, with the encounter finishing in a 1-1 draw thanks to a last second goal to Steve Bruce's men from Darrent Bent, who left the club in January for Aston Villa.

However, it is no secret the Gunners struggle against the powerful, rough exposure of Sunderland alongside their powerful attacking prowess. Fortunately, the Gunners' defence has entered form in recent months, and as their recent win suggests, the Gunners' attack can be almost impossible to defend.

The squad remains the same(against Leyton) and Aaron Ramsey could play his first game for Arsenal since returning from his loan spell.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson admits he's no fan of ref Martin Atkinson after defeat to Chelsea.

The result hinged on a two-minute spell near the end when David Luiz, who had levelled Wayne Rooney's excellent opener with a superb volley, tripped the United striker on the edge of the box having already been booked. Atkinson chose to wave play on and Chelsea won the matchwinning penalty as a result.

"You hope you get a strong referee [/b]in games like this," said Ferguson.

We had 22 shots on goal and 9 on target! Trust me creativity was not the problem. I do agree that perhaps Rozzi (I hope this is his last season at Arsenal) should have been taken off rather than Arshavin. Plus their goal was not really about them being daring! A simple hoof of the ball by Foster,Zigic wins a header and all Koscielny had to do was clear the ball out of sight! We do know how to make the simple things look difficult at Arsenal
