Two lovely sisters, Jenna and Jillian Thistlethwaite who were born on May 9, 2014 in Akron, Ohio holding hands together in the first seconds of their life still can't stay away from each other even after two years of living.

Their mother Sarah had spent 57 days on bed rest to minimize the risks and was relieved to give birth to two healthy girls in a rear pregnancy condition that affects 1 of 10,000 pregnancies.



A condition where the two babies shared one amniotic sac. They were born 45 seconds apart and as soon as the doctors held them close to each other, they clasped hands, stunning everyone in the delivery room.

Pandemonium broke in Alakuko area of Lagos state on Saturday as a driver identified as Suraju Adeyemi was arrested by the State Police Command for allegedly killing his conductor only identified as Jelili.

According to PUNCH Metro, the deceased had hung onto the body of the truck without the knowledge of the driver. While the suspect was about to make a U-turn, the victim reportedly fell on the ground and he was crushed by the vehicle’s tyres and he died on the spot.

His remains were deposited at the Onipanu General Hospital, Ota, Ogun State.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Dolapo Badmos, who confirmed the death, said policemen from the Ikotun division towed the vehicle to their station. Dolapo, a Superintendent of Police, added that investigations were ongoing.

“There was a fatal accident at the Ayedun Field, along AIT Road, Alagbado, at about 2.30pm on Saturday. It was the truck driver that reported himself to the police after the incident.

“According to him, the conductor, Jelili, was killed after falling off the truck while he (the driver) was making a U-turn. He said the tyres climbed his conductor’s head and he died.” she said

The Nigerian Army troops, under the 118 Task Force Battalion of the 7th Brigade on Thursday made a major retrieval of high calibre munitions from Boko Haram when they executed an ambush attack on a moving gang of suspected terrorists in the northern part of Borno State, authorities said.

In a statement by the Army spokesman, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, reads; “Following reliable information about movement of remnants of suspected Boko Haram terrorists, troops of 118 Task Force Battalion, 7 Brigade, laid an ambush for the terrorists today morning”, he said.

“The troops laid the ambush about 3 kilometres away from Goneri town, South West of Kukawa Local Government Area, where they encountered the unsuspecting terrorists in 2 gun trucks and on motorcycles and engaged them. An unconfirmed number of the terrorists escaped with gun shot wounds abandoning 1 Buffalo Land Cruiser gun truck mounted with an Anti-Aircraft gun, 1,600 rounds of 12.7mm Armour Piercing Incendiary (API) ammunitions, 563 rounds of 7.62mm (NATO) ammunition for General Purpose Machine Guns and 57 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition.

“The troops further recovered 1 motorcycle, 7 jerry cans of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and Automotive Gasoline Oil (AGO), a pair of Nigerien Army uniform, 2 Cameroonian telecommunication service providers SIM cards, as well as a pair of the Boko Haram terrorists Special Forces uniform. They also recovered 1 Samsung Galaxy Tablet and assorted drugs and such as Climax Oxytocin, Tetracyclic HC1 Ointment, Drips and Springe, amongst others.

“Consolidating on this success, the troops are further exploiting the situation while troops of 157 Task Force Battalion are blocking likely escape routes of remnants of the terrorists in Mile 90, Yoyo, Barwati and Kekeno villages”. See more photos after the cut.....

A pregnant textile trader identified as Kudirat Oduola in Gbagi Market, Ibadan, Oyo State, was beaten to death by thugs sent by a co-trader for not being able to pay up the amount of money she borrowed.

According to reports, the deceased who was three months pregnant, had approached one Oriekun to assist her with the money to buy textile materials.

The deceased’s brother, Abdulahi Asimolowo, said Oduola paid the N2m debt five months after it was borrowed, adding that Oriekun, however, insisted that she would collect N400,000 as interest for five months.

He said, “It is a common practice among traders at Gbagi Market to assist one another with money to buy goods. No interest is usually charged. This was what happened between my sister and Oriekun

“Oriekun assisted my sister with the sum of N2m, which was refunded after five months. She, however, insisted that she would collect interest on the money for another five months. She said she would collect N400,000 per month. She also threatened the deceased to consider herself a walking corpse if she refused to pay the interest.”

Asimolowo explained that the deceased later agreed to pay the interest when she could no longer cope with Oriekun’s harassment.

“She actually paid some of the interest, but when she could no longer continue, she told Oriekun that she was tired of paying because she could no longer afford it,” he added.
Asimolowo said on May 19, 2016, some thugs were allegedly sent by Oriekun to deal with the deceased for failing to pay the money.

He said, “The thugs beat her up and left her when she collapsed. She lost her pregnancy as a result of the attack and she was rushed to the hospital.

“She was taken to a private hospital at Olodo area, and later transferred to the Police Hospital at Eleyele. From there, she was transferred to the University College Hospital where she died on July 9, 2016.”

Our correspondent learnt that Oriekun had been arrested by the Oyo State Police Command.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Adekunle Ajisebutu, confirmed the incident, adding that investigation was ongoing.

He did his part and left so that the meeting would continue It is a simple meeting procedure. He had to leave without being disruptive That is what happened.

The ministers did not even escort him. They stayed back to conclude the meeting .I thought that the President should be praised for ending his meeting with a foreign leader to come and for the courtesy & respect he showed to the parents & the BBOG, which is undoubtedly Africa's best known social action movement. The Ex-speaker of Ondo State House of Assembly and Governorship Aspirant of Ondo State, Victor Olabintan who was kidnapped last week by fake Soldiers on his way to Abuja has been rescued and three people connected in his abduction arrested by the Nigerian Police.

According to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), Olisa Metuh has said he would rather go on hunger strike than refund the money, which is believed to be part of the $2.1 billion arms cash allegedly diverted at the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA). This is in a bid to recover the whooping sum of N400 million which was traced to a company he has a stake with.

While addressing Olisa Metuh's position in Lagos yesterday, EFCC boss, Ibrahim Magu said the war against corruption has just begun. He also have reasons why the EFCC cases get stucked.

“When a politician steals N10 billion, he keeps N5 billion for litigation. He hires Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs). Judges accuse us of not conducting thorough investigation in order to compromise.” he said.
