lekanolas: The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has said that Lagos and the six other states control about 90 per cent of cash transactions in the country. The other states are Rivers, Anambra, Abia, Kano, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The CBN Deputy Governor, Operations, Tunde Lemo, who disclosed this, said this was the reason why the above mentioned states were been slated for the second phase of the cash-less project billed to kick off on July 1.

Acknowledging that there have been and there are still challenges with the cashless project, Lemo however assured that most of them are being resolved.

He listed one of the major challenges to include interconnectivity in some of the clusters, which he said is being addressed.

Lemo said that besides the use of alternative channels of transactions such as Point of Sales (PoS), the cashless project would be driven through the telephone.

Nigeria is second in number of mobile phone users in sub Saharan Africa after South Africa, which is also the largest economy in the region.

toshine1: Db has not called lagos applicant for ts cos dey av a lot of staffs and backlog of applicant in lagos rite nw, dey are just tryn to slow d process down so as to giv room for lagos applicant dat will be coming in, and dats d same reason y test may nt be conducted in lag for a long time frm nw. Calaba pple will av their interview 2moro after their test 2day cos dey really need staff urgently in cross river and akwa ibom states. though d qstn hs been answered, jst 2 add, u can actually av ur training done in a state oda dan d@ which u did ur tests nd intvws as ws d case wif some peeps d@ wrote deir test last yr march, bt ds can only occur in either of dese cases:1) based on request on grounds of proximity, accommodatn...2) if probably der hs been a long wait 2 get called up 2 TS in d state u had ur test nd der r openings in any of d oda 2 TSs nd u agree 2 go. Currently a set resumed TS last wk monday, 15th April and d oda wil resume nxt wk monday, 29th. So there r 2 streams in lag as d oda wld start in a couple of days.

Abt d oda question,y did I want to pursue a career in banking instead of my studied course..I said I developed interest in d financial industry during the period of recapitalisation in 2005 with merging and acquisition of banks and I enjoyed wat I read and overtime I decided to start a career in dis field. even tou it mit b chalenging at d begining since I don't have any previous background of banking..I am wiling to learn,and am glad I choose dis career path..
