Travel / Re: USA Employment-based Immigration (EB-1,EB-2,EB-3 Visa) by Vanekj: 8:32am On Aug 13, 2022
I sent you a PM.

NotsonewMary:
Hello All,

This thread is dedicated to people who would like to share their employment based immigration stories and pathway for others to learn.

I stand corrected, but I believe one field of USA legal immigration that is not very known to professionals and advanced degree holders in the Nigerian community is the EB-1 and EB-2 NIW route by which a person can self-petition for permanent residency (Greencard).

Below are helpful links that provide broad information on this category.

More information specific to EB-1 and EB-2 NIW self petition without a US employer are found in the additional links below.

Please can anyone help with this please. Who scaled through and got PR Post ITA using a WES assessment of completion of a college certificate (one semester) to claim 2 or more degree.
Thanks

DboyizGood:

Hope you are keeping safe. Have a question as regards those friends that proceeded with their one semester evaluation. I'm in a similar situation now. WES evaluated my 1yr diploma as college cert one semester. 2nd option would have been to try other evaluation bodies but with this covid they are all on hold and i know scores would drop favourable for now but post covid it would skyrocket. Tried sending an email to you. Please respond.
Thanks

Thanks for the tip. Just kind of over whelmed with the whole thing here but I know it can only get better

Hello Mommas , hope everyone is doing fine. My trip went on quite smoothly - came in through JFK from Lagos with airfrance . Then took Delta flight to Elpaso through Atlanta, it was quite a tirey journey but glad I went through JFK .
My visa had expired but I dint do Dropbox as I saw from this thread that most people got called for interview so I quietly donated myself for a fresh interview without dropbox to save time and stories .
Using Doctoresparati letter (same I used in 2015 when I had my son) I applied with my sister (since am going with my son and will need help) but she was rejected. So I was scarred to apply for my mum cos of someones experience here as well.
My mum's visa was approved no much question only asked why she was going , my visa page, how many kids and grandkids she had.
When we got to JFK, I showed the officers my son America passport and she asked I join the citizen line and go ahead to do the self machine stuff. I stayed on the line for five mins and the officer asked me only one question - how long are you here for and I told him 3months and he stamped me and said have a nice stay . That was it , no agriculture though I had few food items and had a little below $10k as I dint want to waste time declaring.
I bless God for His favor cos we were treated like we just came back to our country. No hassles , no questions , nothing .
Am in Elpaso now in a very comfy accomodation I secured through airbnb -
Sorry for my long writeup. I wish everyone going for interview and those who have gotten visa a safe trip and safe delivery for all of us. May God grant us favor and above all Wisdom in making any decision.

Hey Mama, Nice to see your post up here. See how God was faithful through it all. Well-done on the journey my would have been NJ mate..Lol. See you soon babes

From what I heard, Laurel regional hospital maternity section has been closed down for now. There was an issue with not meeting the required standard. Dunno if they have reopened it now. You can also google shady Grove Adventist hospital. Didn't use them cos of the long distance from my host's house.

Wow! thanks for the info on Laurel. i had gotten their no online but now i'm a bit concerned about them hoping the embassy won't have an issue with me using them. I got a quote from Shady grove and it wasn't family friendly at all o!. Lol. Please what hospital did you use. Can you share details and cost with me pls. I sent you a PM pls respond. DH is still optimistic we can get something in Virginia that's close to maryland. Left for me alone i would have ported to Texas ( very easy to get quotes and correspondence). Pls help.

Did they share email correspondence or acceptance letter? Nova group for women have just been posting me asking for me to send a fax of my records before they can accept me and they don't have an email address. For Dr T-chabo have searched for an email address and none. Pls help guys or advise in the right corner. You can ask your questions here!
.

Sorry i missed this.

I'm looking at using Inova fairfax in Virginia. Gone through the thread and there isn't much information on it like Henrico hospital but its quite far from MD. I intend staying in Baltimore. You mentioned you had posted previously but it was taken out. Could you please share the name of the doctor you used/email contact and the cost. (including hospital bills/Paed/epidural). Do they give acceptance letter or the email correspondence would be fine during interview. Also, was the doctor's office at Baltimore or VA. You can email me if it's more convenient

Thanks

Hello Shawshank,

Thanks for the breakdown. Quite helpful. Please can you email me the Doctor's name and contact, accommodation you used while in Virginia/costing and also noticed you didn't mention pediatrician or is that what well baby represents.
Thanks.

Shawshank:

Breakdown of my bills
Hosp fee for vag delivery- 2078
Doctors fee for vag delivery- 850
Epidural- 1450
Well baby- 264
Hearing test- 160 ( I declined)
1st doctors appointment- 110, subsequent ones-30
Lab- whole panel about 145 or so but the doctor accepts results from Nigeria
Pray for favour not to use epidural...
Let me know if you have any other question

Pm me, i just saw your message.
Hi Nozzle,
I'm also interested in making enquiries about Henrico. Doctor's contact and overall cost since i read from the thread that they've increased their cost recently. Also average cost of accommodation you got. Thanks so much

hello Dwebb55 i wanted to send you a PM but i think you need to also follow me back for that to happen. I'll also need contacts and information on Inova fairfax. I'm trying to get all options in so i can compare and weigh options since family is in maryland. Thanks

My DW and I used Inova Fairfax which is about 3.5 hours from Norfolk so I don't think I'll be of help. You can start by searching for hospital's in your area of intended stay and then calling them up or searching their websites

Thanks @Dwebb55 and Modath.

Maryland hospitals are pretty expensive. Your best bet would be to get a hospital in Virginia, You can google hospitals in virginia and narrow down choices based on the distance to the part of Maryland where u will be.

Hello Everyone,

i'm a first timer on Nairaland. I must say a whole lot of support in here. Well done guys.

We want to have our first baby in the US. Have gone through the thread and know that i'm to:

Apply for a B1/B2 so reason can be Tourism and also to give birth.

However I need your advice on the following.

1. Affordable Hospitals in Maryland (that's where i can be accommodated). Have heard Maryland is expensive but i'm sure someone here would have eventually gotten a good deal. Please help with any link or direct contact to the hospital/doctor. i have googled and filled in contact forms but no revert. i have called but they keep directing me to their insurance company so please i'm crying for help.

2. Is or Was there anyone who planned to stay in Maryland however give birth in another state that's more affordable and not too far from Maryland. When did you leave Maryland for the place and when were you fit to travel back to Maryland after delivery. Also hospital details (especially cost) and contact to Doctor

3. Any other information would be helpful.

Thanks!
