You just want to talk, as I can see. But I'll humour you with some honourable mentions of UPU as the main Urhobo policy making organ:

A referendum will not be conducted on our soil because we didn't ask for one. Did Wales take part in the Scottish referendum?
I don't have any problem with that,so long as it comes from the heart of the people and their real leaders, and not some political stooges planted by the quota system overseers!

Nothing is wrong with the title. Titles are meant to draw attention to a thread. It is better for me if a lot of persons view this thread. If using titles that draw attention cuts it, then I'm game.

Secondly, the title is not wrong. Afterall, IPOB did plead that Urhobos should observe the May 30th sit-at-home as the quoted post indicated. As I remember, it was IPOB that championed this sit-at-home. Anyone asking another group to observe it is invariably echoing IPOB's decision.
Lie,you had a ridiculous intention and it backfired!

A simple "urhobo disassociate from Biafra" would have done it,but you chose to ridicule and attributed the article to IPOB!

Thats d reason for d weakness.. so i wnt blame her much.
In whateva u do in life u must first have mental strenght very important.
Exactly, she couldn't take the "leave us alone" talk from the minorities no one was forcing...she should have simply stayed on the sidelines instead of openly disagreeing with people that fighting for same thing, though I understand her to an extent, but not everything one says.

Urhobo Progressive Union (UPU) is above politics. It was organised by the foremost Urhobo nationalist, Mukoro Mowoe and has always served the interest of the Urhobo since the 1920s. Whatever UPU says is ratified by all Urhobo polities because we follow a duly democratic process of decision making. The UPU PG of every clan represents such clan in this process and every clan gets to vote on decisions before they are finally voted upon by the UPU NEC, much like the American Electoral College system.

So as you can see, UPU doesn't come out to make blanket statements to force all Urhobos into something. They make well-thought statements after proper consultations. While it is true that politics cannot be separated from unions such as this, rest assured that their primary allegiance is to the Urhobo people and they serve our interest effectively.

If we want a referendum or anything, the whole world will hear it from UPU and if UPU doesn't even say it, we have thousands of Urhobo leaders, monarchs and what-have-we that can speak out.
Good, since you know there are other groups/leaders that can speak for you,why are you so in a hurry to cling on UPU?
You are the desperate one trying to disassociate with a group you were never associated with before, and that's the reason you created the thread!

We no need dey same my Bro. Chelsea and Arsenal dey play, you belong to one, I belong to another but let's enjoy the match.

But in truth I want a Nigeria that works for all IF that is possible to have. That's the Nigeria of my dreams. I grew up on the Airforce Base Makurdi. All the Ethnic groups lived in harmony. I swear. People fight ooo but not on ethnic, tribal grounds. I think we can recreate such a just and fair working scheme on a larger scale.
Cheers.
I can also go with a restructured Nigeria where everyone controls their resources.but what happens when other groups are making the struggle difficult, even when it doesn't concern them?

Take for example, some Yorubas went as far as calling for the death of NK while he was in prison simply because he excercised his right to self determination....the truth is deep down inside we Igbos,we clamour for Biafra because we believe if we don't get,we will get a restructured Nigeria, that's just the truth.

I did not call for a referendum on urhobo soil,I only emphasized on the fact that,it's those benefiting from the status quo,the political stoogs like UPU claiming to be mouth piece am not comfortable with!

When the people speak,we will surely respect their opinion and not that of politically motivated groups!

This is what I was trying to tell fraternaty yesterday that there are always a handful of people in every group/tribe/country that share a different view!

You call the elites who are enjoying the status quo and will do anything protect their interest even at the detriment of the masses!we can see clearly how these ikwerre elders are speaking for their people and you have to respect their stand!

As for me,even if it's only the 5 states than can creat b1afra,so be it,am cool with that, but don't go about trying to speak for others..

It's the few vocal minority that are trying to speak for the quiet majority here!

Did anybody ask Urhobo permission before dragging dem into Nigeria.

If anything IPOB has been visible, diplomatic and patient.

Dont mind the tout that started this thread, IPOB have stated endlessly that we will not force anybody into Biafra.

We are also aware that we are extending invitation to groups not formally included by Ojukwu.

Everything will be consensual and by international recognised best practice as we wil have observers.

But shame go kill fratermathy after we exit, they turn Southwest Cameroon that left Nigeria only to be begging joint referendum to follow Biafra.

That is wen he will realise that emotion must not go before logic.

He want to fight people for asking, wen he has not fought the Aboki oil well owners in his backyard.

Is that not foolishness?

This is NOT a contest. We never asked for a referendum. You can't force one on us. We have a voice to speak on issues such as this. This isn't 1914 when we were forced into Nigeria.

first of all, you have nothing in common with an itsekiri man, they are mixture of edo and yoruba, and I thought you hate those tribe so much, why are you insisting they be part of your dream country?

Secondly we have been fighting for one things "Resource control " , we are still very much interested in the Nigeria project provided our Wishes are been granted, Our interest will be more protected in Nigeria than your country.

Thirdly an average urhobo man will want a country called Niger Delta republic, where we won't be minority to any tribe.. can't you see? we all have different dreams. why are you forcing yours on us ?
my point is:if you feel you got the majority, why so scared of putting it to a test?
