Super Smash Bros., anyone? Just me? I hope not... ![]() |
Super Mario Odyssey. Freakin' amazing game so far. |
HyDef:Yep, what Requiem said. Also, I main Mei. Out of the 10 hours I've spent playing OW, 7 hours I've devoted to Mei. Ever since I laid my eyes on her I told myself she was going to be my main. She's cute, and I like her weapons and defense nature. I think it allows me to support my teammates from behind the scenes quite effectively. Only problem is I haven't gotten a single PotG with her. The ONE PotG I got was with Doomfist, of all people (you may have seen me saying this in cao's thread). Doomfist's also okay. He might be my second main (replacing either Ana or Widowmaker). EDIT: Just got a PotG with Mei. HAHA YES! |
Kaycee7:No... why? |
HyDef:Oh man. I had to go to several shops just to find a Switch! Funny thing is that I picked up the last Switch in store. After all I went through, imagine if I came to the store any later than I did. And I wanted the Switch with neon Joy Cons, but I told myself I wasn't heading home until I got a Switch. At least I can still buy neon Joy Cons whenever I can. But yeah, I did go through a lot just for my Switch. I think it was worth it, though. One of the big reasons why I like Advance Wars is because of its Haribo-like visuals. It's really a big deal for me as I didn't really enjoy Days of Ruin as much due to that game's dark atmosphere. Other than Advance Wars, though... not many strategy games appeal to me. I just can't get too far into any of them without losing interest. I might enjoy Mario + Rabbids (even though I haven't played XCOM either), but I'm not banking on it. Oh, and I should have sent this reply much more earlier than now, but I had to sleep after some casual Overwatch fun with some friends. Hope ya don't mind! ![]() |
Oh, and I mention how awesome Splatoon 2 is? No, I did not? Well, Splatoon 2 is awesome. ![]() |
cao:Which makes the constant connection attempts even more baffling. Ah well. I do think the game has some potential, but yeah I can see where the game drops the ball. I got excited when I saw the whole "throw out a dictator" plot the game was going for, but so far everything seems disjointed... nothing really seems to make sense. It's like the game throws you into one scene after another without much development at all. Oh, and there's the frame rate dips when you cause explosions... which is a shame because the game encourages you to "cause chaos" wherever you go. At least there's the open-ended nature of the game... which impressed more than I'm willing to admit, haha! I already liberated the first town (Medici, wasn't it?), so at least I'm willing to make some progress in the game. But as soon as I saw its Metacritic score... welp. Not as epic a game as I was imagining it was, it seems. ![]() |
Yeah, we do seem to be lacking the numbers. Oh well, hopefully we don't allow this thread to be drowned out. So it seems the next biggest Switch game is Mario + Rabbids, the game that shocked literally everyone as looking and actually playing decent, according to most previews (and proving the internet is garbage because it think its knows how things run). Are you interested in it? I want to be, but I know I'm not too big on strategy games (only one I really like is Advance Wars and some strategy RPG games here and there such as Valkyria Chronicles, Fire Emblem Awakening, and Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars. Yeah, I don't really like strategy games lol), so I might get it later... even if it gets great reviews upon release. Of course, if I don't get ARMS this month or next month, the next Switch game I'm gonna pick up (and everyone else, I presume) is Odyssey. That may just be my game of the year (as much as I agree BoTW is easily my best game of 2017 so far, its no Wind Waker 2). I think there are really exciting times for a Nintendo fan in the future. The most exciting the company has seen in a long while! And hello, HyDef! |
cao:Won't the game still try to connect to those silly servers anyway, even without internet? I might be wrong, though... and I don't feel like trying it out because I'm feeling particularly lazy right now. ![]() |
Oh look, a thread for Nintendo fans. I'll just waltz right in, if ya don't mind... ![]() I'm afraid there aren't too many Nintendo fans (at least, not on this site) for this thread to fully blossom... but we'll see. |
cao:Haha, I'm playing Just Cause 3 as well and I keep running into the same problem... the worst part is that you can't really do anything until you get the error message... which takes a long while. Oh, and on a sidenote... I finally got PotG in Overwatch. With Doomfist. Only hours after I started using him. |
Finished Uncharted 4 this morning. So... well. Nice visuals, great story... poor gameplay. All I did was run, climb, and shoot things. Everything else the game tried to play for me. Those "epic cinematic" scenes were pretty boring, if not unnecessarily flashy, the game fought Nadine for me in her scenes, and there was whole a whole lot of button tapping. The final boss was a highlight, however... only to be somewhat spoiled by YET more flashy movie cinematics. Decent game at the very most. Nothing more, nothing (well, maybe something) less. Now I'm going on to play Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. I picked up this game during one of the recent sales the PS Store was having. I can't wait to dive in into that game! Of course, I'm still playing Breath Of The Wild (the new DLC came out, and I'm looking forward to tackling it), and I'm thinking of tackling my Wii U backlog. But for now, Breath Of The Wild and MGSV. ![]() |
Lana1:... I don't think HyDef included gaming PCs when he meant "gaming console." Of course there are more powerful PCs (heck, I have one), but at the same time the Xbox One X is the most powerful DEDICATED gaming console. |
hakinze00:Kinda late, but eh. This was one of the best things to come out of E3 2017. And to think it releases on the 27th of October. Just fantastic. This game and Breath of the Wild will easily be contenders for Game of the Year. Great time to own a Switch! |
HyDef:Pretty much. I'm still surprised that it's the smallest Xbox to date. And was anyone expecting the Xbox One X to come cheap? For what it contains, I'd say the price is just right. Heck, it's $100 more than the PS4 Pro (which is more or less trying to do the same thing the XOX is doing). It's just right enough to tap into the niche of gamers who want great visuals (that green, shiny, sharp grass, tho /s) while not breaking the bank. The only issue I have with the system right now is the games... Microsoft's E3 was actually decent, but there was little content screaming at me to at least consider picking an XOX up, maybe except for Forza Motorsport. Maybe in the near future, perhaps. And yeah, that name. Xbox One X. Haha. |
Vasaratti16:Why though? If you really believe in your opinion (which should be supported and not just because that's what you think), then stand up for it. Remember this is the internet, so internet people (in sites where you'll find them lurking around) would probably be "offended" by what you say or think, regardless. ANYWAY. If there are two games I've played recently and have the best plots, it's probably going to be The Last Of Us and Uncharted 4. Both games have a really good, juicy, and unpredictable storyline. In fact, they're basically glorified interactive cutscenes! (TLOU to a much smaller degree, though). |
Life Is Strange is that one game a friend of mine keeps telling me about. Perfect time to try it out, then. |
![]() HyDef:Yay, someone else who also visits the Nintendo Switch subreddit. I visit that place everyday. |
cao:LOL, thanks for taking the time to check for me! I swear I wanted to play Overwatch yesterday but instead went ahead to play some Uncharted.... ![]() |
gangwolf:Pretty much this. |
cao:Great pieces of advice. I wasn't even aware that you could change the difficulty of those bots in Training Mode. That's good to know. And yeah, I'll probably play by myself next time. If I'm playing with similarly skilled players the chances of me getting a PotG once and for all may or may not skyrocket. We'll see... |
cao:Haha! Ironic as it is, I know how deadly Mei can be. I remember I played a match with an enemy Mei.. not only did we lose the match rather quickly, that Mei easily got the PotG. Good Lord, I was super salty! Not to mention I used Mei before that match and then proceeded to use Widowmaker. Christ! ![]() I mean, I play OW with my friends and they easily get PotGs using other characters (I'm kinda sick of seeing D. Va get PotG all the time lol)... and end up in that voting shtick after the match like 95% of the time. Like I said earlier, I gotta get gud but man. It gets kinda depressing at some point lel. I may just have to watch some YouTube videos about skilled Mei gameplay. Or maybe I should stop playing with skilled friends...? ![]() |
cao:Junkrat, the guy with those annoying bombs? Haha, that's good for you! As for me, I stick with Mei. Always have ever since I laid my eyes on her. I've never EVER gotten a POTG with her, though... or with anyone else, for that matter. I gotta get gud. |
Breath Of The Wild on Switch and Uncharted 4 on PS4. Thinking of heading back to Overwatch for a while... haven't touched the game in two months, I believe. |
Macrophage:Pretty much this. I mean, the only thing Uncharted has going for it is pretty visuals (which doesn't even run at 60fps, anyway) and a good storyline. Everything else is extremely forgettable. I paid to play a game, not watch a movie. TLOU is, and will always be, by far the superior game. I recommend Tomb Raider if anyone is looking to scratch that Uncharted itch. TR's everything I wanted Uncharted to be. Plus more. And it runs at 60fps... ![]() |

Advance Wars on GBA was so light hearted, and surprisingly addictive. Although I did notice the second game I played, can't remember the name, seemed a little stranger. Aliens I think.
Was it hard to find? I wouldn't know much about Splatoon though, looks competitive though.
