To solve the issue you have to ask the right question. And that question is "why do customers reject items?" Customer reject items for 2 major reasons.
1. bad product (this could be bad packaging, wrong sizing, counterfeit quality, etc)
2. delayed delivery.

other reasons also exist but these are the bone of contention.

If you can ensure your product are of right quality and description as advertised, you have solved one quarter of the problem.
If you can ensure prompt delivery, you have solved three quarter of the problem. then there is the last quarter of problem which is your own internal administration, processing, coordination and accounting..
Summary is if you ensure correct product quality and deliver on time, you leave the customer with very very very little room for rejections.

Then there's the issue of unserious buyer that you have no control over.
Someone might need an item and place orders on 3 different platforms. They go ahead and confirm the orders and wait for first to deliver.

"Hello Juicy Gossips, please help me post this on your blog and help me get answers. I tried ordering something on Jumia who claim to be Nigeria's number one online retailer. When i was about checking out, i noticed the delivery fee on the item i ordered was over N1,000. I looked for other options and found an option that allows me pick up the item myself from one of their stations. I decided to opt for one that was very close to my house.

To my greatest surprise, I also have to pay delivery fee for an item i'll be picking up myself from them. How? I used to think picking up your item yourself was free! Where did jumia learn this new technique from and what exactly am i paying for? They even charge as high as N400 for pickup. Haba Jumia....that is stealing.

So please i want to ask o, has anyone experienced this before? And can someone explain why i have to pay for picking up an item? I'll be checking the comments for your answers. I hope someone would help me see reason with them. And if not, then they should scrap that silly charge. They already collect commission fom merchants on every item sold on their platform so why this cunning way of making more money?
