publisher: Yes o, o,everywhere is better than Nigeria. Please move back to Libya ooooooooo. Let those of us who have managed to settle down in Nigeria with our small businesses continue suffering O. Isnt it amazing how those who were CAPITAL failures in Nigeria end up prefering to become SUPER CAPITAL failures in foreign countries. While those who are relatively SUCCESSFUL in Nigeria sometimes become SUPER SUCCESSFUL abroad. If you cant survive in Nigeria, you'll be a looser for life, the highest achievement you'll ever attain is that of being an ADDITIONAL BLACK IMMIGRANT in a foreign land. Welder ko', THUNDER FIRE your DARK WELDERS' SHADES I think the world would be a better place is we sometimes shift our views to other people's perspectives sometimes rather than ours. Here is somebody looking for greener lands in his nation and didn't find it only to go to another man's land to find it at least to an appreciable level. We are a nation of more than 150 million people and there is no way the resources of this nation goes round to meet each citizen's needs. So if a citizen who have seen the best of both worlds still considers another man's country as better, I definitely rather than blame or insult him would listen to his reasons which obviously makes sense to an extent. |

Amujale: Are you serious? Please be careful what you ask for, you said live on NL that one should check the history of America, France and British rulers, Well lets start from,
How about we start from Libya. Libya was invaded by a quartet (America, France, British & Italy) of countries (some of which you just mentioned) even though it was a somewhat unpopular descision in their respective countries. Let me remind you that the mandate given to Nato came after the quartet failed woefully to gain any ground internally.
Firstly, the main reason that UN acted upon to issue a NO FLW ZONE was the allegation that Ghadafi had droped a bombed on a town in the heart of Libya killing hundreds of innocent people. This allegation was unfounded; the Russian that had a satelite orbiting that region stated that that information was incorrect.
Secondly, the infamous NO FLW ZONE (infamous as in i dont think they bothered setting one up, why bother when they can just rush towards Tripoli instead) was concucted in order to aparently defend the lives of civilians so that Ghadafhi doesnt kill them all over night; apart from the fact that that was wishfull thinking (as in Ghadahi loved the people of Libya he wouldnt have attacked his own people even if he was paid to), the quartet, NATO and their mercanaries invaded Libyan soil in contradiction of the UN resolution that dispatched them. And the most astonishing thing about it all is that the main reason that the quartet took up this position was to defend Libyan civilians; well, well well, Dont you think they did a fantastic job at doing that given that the number of civilians that the combine forces of the quartet, NATO and their mercenaries killed is estimated in excess of 100,000.
Who's the dictator in that scenario? Good question D sage: @Amujale,dose countries u mentioned ar nt dictators but imperialist.D word dictatorshp applies to totalitarian leader in a given countries e.g Adolf hitla of Germany,Idi Amin of Uganda,Bongo Omar of Gabon, sanni Abacha of Nigeria,Enyeadema of Togo, jst to mention a few.D modern imperialist dont jst dictate but takes advantage of turmoil/unrest&a crime against humanity to intervened into d internal affairs of oda countries. D sage, These imperialist regimes are under the facade of a democracy. In a democracy, its the people's choice. How many of the people or the people's representatives okayed a war against a country like Libya. Don't try and make them seem good. Libya had little unrest compered to that of Syria. Iraq had no unrest but were also invaded. The overhyped word democracy to me is nothing like a facade for dictatorship elements of western nations |

Guys Libya is far more economically stable and prosperous than Nigeria. A Malian that used to clean bicycles told AFP that he earned $130 per week. That is approximately N80,000 per month. That's more than what many Nigerian graduates earn.
If you think there is a conspiracy somewhere, check pictures and videos of Libyans even at war. Do you see anyone wasting in poverty or wearing rags? Gadaffi made every citizen of that country a beneficiary of the Libyan oil wealth and was even willing to include foreigners under the scheme. The Libyan rebels just want to overthrow their Gaddafi government backed by the NATO bodies. Well the way it is, Libya's going to turn to another Iraq. Africa let out for sale, what a shame. |
Sports › Re: Should Siasia Be Sacked Or Not by velo10: 3:19pm On Oct 09, 2011 |
Siasia became the Nigerian coach with his demands of a big monthly salarly. He made himself sound like a local superstar and created a lot of controversies. Right now, I don't give a damn abut him. I see him as the cause Nigeria is not going to be competing in major competition s until 2014. He should face the music. He should be sacked. Better coaches out there than those who deal on petty issues with their players. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Can The Assassination Of A Dictator Be Justified? by velo10: 2:37pm On Oct 07, 2011 |
No it should not and cannot. It is simply assassination. By the way, who isn't a dictator. Goerge bush went to war against the wishes of 70% of Americans. Isn't he a dictator? Sarkozy and David Cameron bombing Libya against people's wishes, isn't that dictatorship? Sometimes I see democracy as an illusion for Dictatorship. These so-called democratically-elected leaders are simply nothing but chosen ones overhyped by the media to endorse their votes. They end up doing what their Godfathers want them to do. Obama doesn't want war but Bush wants war, isn't Obama not part of the campaign for regime change in Libya? Lets consider and not be deceived. |

birdman: the way i understand it, he was a ceremonial figurehead. The real administrators were elected by grassroots democracy. It seemed to have worked for them, considering the high standard of living they enjoyed, and unparalleled resource allocation compared to any other country in Africa and the Arab world. All governments do not have to look the same. It is reasonable to adapt to your own peculiar culture. I am a Gadaffi supporter but I think your first sentence is a bit wrong. Gaddafi was an autocratic ruler just like Abacha was. Democracy in Jamarrhiya system in Libya didn't work at all levels of Libyan governance. But the fact is that despite the non-democracy, Libya was far-off better than many countries in the world in terms of development. There's no Libyan that can openly say that he hasn't been a beneficiary of the oil reserves which was nationalised by Gaddafi. He made his nation great and does not deserve to be deposed to be hunted like a common criminal. |

islamrules: Like we Nigerians go to polling station every 4 years to elect our leaders, Libyans says they want the same thing. They said they are tired of self imposing government.
Nigeria Government recognized this because it is what Nigeria is practicing. And people Libya a.k.a "the Masses/Majority" want it.
Wole Soyinka, a human right activist, supported Nigerian government for her move. Cant you see it is logical enough. Wole Soyinka is practicing what he is preaching.
Kudos to Wole Soyinka, a man of honor, who honor the wish of the people.
To hell with you people, who because of the hatred of the West/America want Libyans to die in the hand of Gaddafi.
You too will never know peace in your life.
Now to analyze the logic.
America/West that you hate, supported Libyans. Dont forget Libyans are muslims. Some of them are al-qaeda, Islamist tetrrorist. Yet, the west supported them. I used to hate the west they way you people colored them to be evil. But the whole world is seeing who the evil really is.
Is it actually America/West ? The answer is no? The answer is a religion, which I will not mention its name here. What point are you trying to make? |

Obj the unenlightened ex-president made a better analysis on the Libyan crisis than the Nobel Laureate Soyinka. The fact remains that every nation is a sovereign nation and should not be invaded to install puppet regimes by their invaders. Lets stop supporting this crazy hypocrisy in the Libyan crisis. Syria is presently quelling its unrest till date with close to 3,000 lives paying the price, but all the West is saying is mild sanctions. While the Libyan unrest that killed less than 400 people, initiated an insane bombing mission for regime change. Soyinka is simply advocating popular media-manipulated opinion not the TRUTH. |

Boarding school for boys is not bad at all. Just make a deep research into the boarding school to know if it is best appropriate for your child.
As for me, I'm certainly not considering boarding school for my daughter. The rate of lesbianism is way too high and girls are usually being initiated into the act from their boarding secondary schools. |

Eko Ile: To actually think up a statement like yours about destroying and burning government/taxpayers property as stated below clearly depicts the kind of twisted, lawless and anti social person you are. The statement I made was a joke. It is also the thought that would flow through the minds of the less-privileged trying to make ends meet in a time of soaring kerosene/gas prices. Your statement clearly paints that they can as well go to hell as long as Lagos trees are kept standing. That's really very inconsiderate of you despite the fact that you're Fashola's main rep here on this forum. @Beaf, you said it all. Couldn't ask for a more elaborate response for this irrational thinking |
