WebmastersRe: 8 Major Factors To Consider When Purchasing A Domain Name - NCT by verabetsy(f): 8:13pm On Jun 13, 2016
APHATHEOLOGY:
Eight Major Factors To Consider When Purchasing A Domain Name For Your Blog or Website

A domain name is an identification string that defines a realm of administrative autonomy, authority or control within the Internet.

These are the things to consider before buying a domain name

1. Go for a Top level domain name
Make sure the domain name you are buying is a top level one e.g. .com .ng .org e.t.c.
Just make sure it is very easy for your users to remember.

2. Avoid buying a contradicting domain name
For example, your website niche is on sports, you are now in need of a domain name and you buy .edu.ng extension, SO CONTRADICTING!!!
Always know that your guests and members will be the one looking for admission or other sort of education aspirants and they will bounce back when they see your
Posts mainly on sports.

3. Check if the domain is not existing
The perfect way to do this is to go to any domain registrar website and type the domain name, to know if it had been choosen or not, don't rely on that only, type
the url on search engines too and see if it already existed before you totally conclude.

Some webmasters are scammers, they will close their website for a while and when it had been sold to you, they retrieve it back again
when you gain much traffic.

4. Avoid too long domain name
For example, you want to buy a domain name for a website with music niche and you name it:
plentynaijamusicishere,com
That is wrong, go for a domain name that will be easy for everyone to remember.
It is not compulsory the domain is 6 or less letters word, but make sure it is easy to remember (either long or short) and also dont let it be too long.

5. Don't advertise your unpurchased domain name
Don't go to forums and ask for opinions on the new domain you want to purchase, before you
wake up the next day, it would have been purchased by a hungry scammer, you will have to pay them before they sell it to you and the money will be beyond your plan.

6. Avoid replacing words with letter
If you buy a domain name and make it 9jamusic,com instead of naijamusic, com if the second person with that naijamusic, com is your competitor, he can wipe you away within days, your visitor may just mistype that 9ja to
naija and fall for naijamusic, com immediately.
This always happen when people get to know your website name from the voice tag u put in a music.

7. Avoid going for a plural domain name
Buying a plural domain name which singular is already existing is very risky.
Adding s to the back of your domain name is very risky.
For Example, nairaland, com is already in existence, you then buy a domain nairalands, com, people will always/easily remember Nairaland and forget Nairalands except devoted visitors which are scarce and will be minimum.

8. Make Sure the domain registrar you want to
use are reputable and reliable

There are some hungry registrars, hunger lead them to domain business, if you fall for such
registrar, your money is waisted, search thoroughly about the hoster you wish to use and their years of service before buying from them.

Did you want to buy a domain (or host your website) i will recommend you choose and use WHOGOHOST

We are recommending them due to the experience we had with them, they are reliable and trusted.

It is not owned by a hungry registrar (lol), so you have nothing to fear.fear

London has opened her first naked restaurant - which they claim has over 46,000 people on its wait list. The restaurant was opened in an undisclosed location in the south eastern part of London. The head chef of London's newest out-there dining experience said he believed that being Nude while eating will help customers to concentrate on their food and therefore inspire them to 'try new cuisines'.

Only open for just three months, Bunyadi claims that it offers 'pure freedom', giving the experience of eating in its natural form.

"No amount of indecency or any sexual related activities of any sort will be tolerated. Visitors who fail to adhere to this rule will be ordered out with immediate effect.

EducationPositive And Negative Effects Of Scrapped Post UTME by verabetsy(op): 7:08am On Jun 11, 2016
Positive and negative effects of scrapped post UTME

The national university commission has restated their stance on the scrapped
post university matriculation examination. As an economics and education student, the following are the possible positive and negative effects on both the students, the universities and the economy.

The positive effects are:
1. The students will save some money: The major motive for the removal of post UTME is to save students from double spending on JAMB and post UTME.

2. The danger of travelling for post utme examination removed: We all know the dangers associated with travelling from Lagos to Delta state for example to write post UTME. The dangers range from accommodation difficulty to road accident etc

3. Saves the students from unnecessary inconvenience: in line with the point above, the inconvenience of having to sit for another examination after JAMB has been overcame.

4. Easy transfer: considering how difficult it is to get admission into some universities due to high number of applicants, using only JAMB can enable the students transfer to any other school.

5. Crime rate will be reduced: post UTME sometimes lead to the molestation and sexual abuse of young female jambites. With its removal, vulnerability of the students is reduced.

DISADVANTAGES
1. Lost of IGR to the school: Post UTME is one of the sources of generating internal revenue for universities. Removing it implies a reduction in the universities internally generated revenue.

2. Low accessibility to the school: Post UTME enable aspiring students to get to know each other before, during and after the examination to enable them get abreast about the admission process. It is also an avenue where the jambites get to know older students in the school and get information about the admission process and their admission status. Scrapping post UTME will keep the students in the dark about what is happening in their school of interest.

3. Post JAMB lesson reduces crime rate: In our present day Nigeria, post UTME lessons is more or less an unofficial and informal level of education after SSCE. Gone were the days when a high school leaver is seen as a jobless idler. Now with the proliferation of post UTME lesson centers, a temporary academic life is provided to help cushion the effect of being out of school thereby reducing crime rate.

4. Quota system will become more perverse: Using only JAMB as the only examination to get into higher institutions will only make quota system more pervasive due to lack of connectivity between the aspirants and the school as mentioned earlier.

5. Intellectual laziness: Another implication is the intellectual laziness that will accompany the removal of post UTME. Students preparing for post UTME use the opportunity to develop themselves intellectually but with the removal of the examination, there will be an intellectual laxity by the students after their JAMB examination putting into consideration the gap in terms of time difference between the time JAMB is written and when universities start admitting students.

Picture of How Seminarians Write Examination

What is Seminary? A Seminary is a place where people who wish to become Catholic priests are trained. It is the vocation house for aspirants of the order of priesthood in the Roman Catholic Church .

One of the things that make Seminary unique from circular universities is the high level of discipline and decency that characterize the students who in this case are called seminarians.

Some universities have started adopting different strategies to curtail the level of cheating in the examination Hall but that of the Seminary in this post is a unique and effective way to go by.
