Brief description:

Commonwealth Scholarships for Master’s and PhD study in the UK are offered for citizens of developing Commonwealth countries. These scholarships are funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID).

Host Institution(s):

You are requested to apply for a course of study at  UK universities with which the CSC has a part funding agreement.

Level and Field(s) of study:

Masters (one-year courses only) or PhD Programmes in all subject areas offered at participating UK Universities. The CSC’s selection criteria give priority to those applications that demonstrate strong relevance to development.

Number of Scholarships:

Approximately 300 of these scholarships are awarded each year.

Target group:

The scholarships are targeted to citizens of Developing Commonwealth Countries.

Scholarship value/inclusions:

Each Scholarship provides airfare to and from United Kingdom, tuition and examination fees, personal maintaining allowance, thesis grant (if applicable), initial arrival allowance, among others. Please see the 2017 Commonwealth Scholarship Prospectus for full scholarship benefits.

Eligibility:

To apply for the awards covered in this prospectus, candidates should:

• Be a Commonwealth citizen, refugee, or British protected person
• Be permanently resident in adeveloping Commonwealth country
• Be available to commence their academic studies in the United Kingdom by the start of the UK academic year in September/October 2017
• By October 2017, hold a first degree of upper second class Honours standard (or above); or a second class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree).

Application instructions:

The CSC cannot accept any applications direct from candidates for these scholarships. All applications must be made through your nominating agency (or university/university body, if applicable) in your home country. You must check with them in the first instance for their specific advice and rules for applying, and for their own closing date for applications.

You must make your application using the CSC’s Electronic Application System (EAS), in addition to any other application form that you are required to complete by your nominating body. Your application must be submitted to and endorsed by one of the approved nominating bodies. All applications must be submitted by 23.59 (GMT) on15 November 2016 at the latest.

Hello, here's a text based tutorial on how to cartoonize your photo with Photoshop CS6.

NOTE: It can also be done on CS4.

First of all before you start you should have at least a good quality picture and Photoshop.

Step 1: Open the Photo in Photoshop, then navigate to "Layers" and double click on it.

Step 2: Create a New Layer, then name it "Sketch"..

Step 3: Click on Brush tool Or press "B" on your keyboard, set the brush size to 3% and hardness to 100%

Step 4: Click on the layer "Sketch" then click on the Pen Tool or Press "P" on your keyboard, and take the pen tool to trace around the image or an object in the image..

NOTE: Using the PEN Tool will be hard for new users, I had the same problem, but after some time i got used to it..

Step 5: After you're done tracing, RIGHT click on your mouse and select Stroke Path, then select Brush in the drop-down, and click OK.

NOTE: If you get to a point whereby you cant trace round, hold down ALT and click on the LITTLE POINT.

NOTICE: Repeat Step 5 till the image and/or/with an object is fully traced.

Step 6: Create A New Layer, name is Color, Set the blending mode of the layer "Color" to Multiply.



Step 7: Use the Eye tool (Press E) to select the image/objects color, then Press B(Brush) and set the size to what u think is good enough to add a fill. Then goto Layers click on Color layer, then use the brush tool to add a fill to the color layer.

NOTE: Make sure you Click On the EYE icon on the main photo, (That is to disable it.)

Do Step 7 till the cartoon is fully formed, at first it'll loook weird but keep trying..

Jamb Set To Meet Tertiary Institutions Over 2016 Admissions
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Friday said it had concluded arrangements to hold its next technical meeting on admissions at the Bayero University in Kano.
The board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin, said in Lagos that it would hold from Aug. 22 to Aug. 26.
Benjamin said that the meeting would receive the lists of candidates who had met the admission criteria from the various tertiary institutions for its ratification.
Benjamin said, “ We are expecting a full complement of representatives from all the tertiary institutions in the country to attend the meeting.
“They are expected to submit the lists of first choice candidates shortlisted for admission into the respective tertiary institutions, comprising universities, polytechnics and colleges of education.
“ The board and all other stakeholders will collectively go through the lists to see if they had met the admission criteria.
“The board, if satisfied, will ratify the lists and admission print-outs will be issued to the institutions.’’
He said that the names of successful candidates would also be uploaded on the website of respective institutions for candidates to print.
According to him, the admission letters will contain details such as admission status, school and course of study as well as duration of chosen programme.
