Nigerians have continued to react to a controversial statement by President Muhammadu Buhari allegedly condemning Nigerian youths.

Top Nigerian Blogger, Linda Ikeji has reacted to a comment ascribed to President Muhammadu Buhari in which he said that a lot of Nigerian youth want everything for free.

Buhari made the speech while speaking at the Commonwealth Business Forum in Westminster on Wednesday.

The president said a lot of Nigerian youths have not been to school and they want everything for free.

According to the President,

“We have a very young population; our population is estimated conservatively to be 180 million.

More than 60 percent of the population is below the age of 30.

A lot of them have not been to school and they are claiming that Nigeria has been an oil producing country, therefore they should sit and do nothing and get housing, healthcare and education free.”

Reacting, Linda ikeji shared a throwback photo and wrote on instagram:

A lazy man is described in Proverbs 10:4 as someone who works with a slack hand. He or she is also described as slothful in Proverbs 12:24. The Holy Spirit warns us against slothfulness in Romans 12:11:

“Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;”

Some people are fervent in spirit but slothful in business, whereas some others are diligent in business but not fervent in spirit. These are lopsided Christian lifestyles which are not profitable. In today’s memory verse, we are warned against being lazy. Laziness results in some people becoming so poor that they become fraudsters to make ends meet. Defrauding others is a terrible sin that calls for God’s vengeance (1 Thessalonians 4:6). Lazy Christians take advantage of the generosity of the Christian brotherhood to defraud other diligent Christians. Such lazy ones do not want to work with their hands. Instead, they go from house to house and from church to church to defraud the brethren under several pretexts. Interestingly, this is not a new development in the Body of Christ. Under the guise of awaiting the second coming of the Lord, laziness was so rampant in the Church at Thessalonica, so much so that some believers abandoned their trade and businesses to loaf around. For this reason, Apostle Paul, after his initial epistle, further wrote to this same Church in 2 Thessalonians 3:10, saying,

“For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.”

Today, job scarcity makes it difficult for us to know who is actually lazy among the brethren who loaf around other brethren. In actual fact, it is not the lack of jobs that makes people unemployed; rather, it is pride and the unrealistic dreams of white collar jobs. Some would not do any other job than what they were trained to do in school. These group of Christians should learn from people like Apostle Paul, who in spite of his degree in law engaged in tent making to make ends meet (Acts 18:3, Philippians 3:5). Some people are misguided into thinking that doing manual labour would drain their anointing; this is a lie of the devil. The Lord promised to bless the work of our hands, not our idleness (Deuteronomy 28:12). The story was told of how God directed a young but brilliant Christian to start clearing human waste in a modern way, and he became a millionaire through it. If you are naturally lazy, you need supernatural healing, because laziness is a disease that can kill the body and throw the soul into hell. Therefore, detest it with everything in you.

Action Point: Create a job if no one offers you one; you are a child of God with the ability to create things.

A wife is only able to cry after she was left blind and unable to eat or speak when her own husband threw acid over her face in a horrific attack .

Atsede Nigussiem, 26, had been at home when she opened the door to estranged partner Haimanot Kahsai, 29.

Without warning he allegedly poured a corrosive substance all over Atsede’s face leaving her in agony as her five-year-old son Hannibal Kahsai slept inside.

Atsede ran screaming into the street for help from neighbours, while Haimanot fled.

Two months later Atsede is still in pain, her mouth has been melted together so she cannot talk, she is blind in her left eye and at severe risk of losing the sight in her right eye.

She eats and drinks with a straw and spends all day “crying non stop” – one of the few things she can still do.

Communicating in writing, she said:

“I don’t know why my husband did this. I was at my parents house late at night. I just opened the door and it happened. I’m heartbroken and in pain.”

Atsede, from in Tigrai, Ethiopia, said she had been married for five years to her husband before he moved to neighbouring Yemen for work February and lost contact.

He then returned unexpectedly and launched the unprovoked acid attack after turning up unannounced at 11pm on July 15.

Medics recommended travelling abroad for long-term care and treatment.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has banned popular wedding uniform wears, popularly known as Aso ebi.

Wife of the General Overseer of the church and Mother-in-Isreal, Pastor Folu Adeboye made these known on Saturday at the women’s meeting, which was a part of the activities of the 65th annual convention of the church themed “Halleluyah”.

According to the Nigerian Tribune, she stated at the meeting that compelling members of the church to participate in Aso ebi during special programmes in local assemblies was ungodly.

The news that some members of the church without financial power to buy such uniforms, were excluded from the programmes for which the uniforms were sown, was seriously repudiated by the church leadership.

She noted that Aso ebi which should ordinarily be for the family, must not be elevated to the point of making it to overshadow the spiritual life of the congregants.

She warned that such un-Christianly act of keeping church members out of programmes because of Aso ebi, must never be heard again among the women in the church, adding that those caught would be severely sanctioned.

He stated that the concept of appearing in compulsory uniformed attire for an occasion started with the world and should not be allowed to take a firm space in the church.

She also frowned on the idea of what is seen as petty lies during Christian wedding engagement, where those conducting such events would have to engage in lies to make money from the attendees.

Pastor Adeboye explained that with God, there is no white or black lie, small or big lie, stating that when attendees are asked to bring air fare to fly in, an item already provided for at the event venue, those involved are simply engaging in ungodly act which is a sin.

She called for moderation among Christian women, saying that their focus should be bringing halleluyah and spirituality into their homes and not engaging in the ungodly acts of the unbelievers.

An 82-year-old Denver man who had been missing for a month was found dead in an inoperable elevator at his apartment complex — after the emergency button had been pushed twice.

Isaak Komisarchik’s body was discovered last week in his parking garage after residents reported a horrible smell.

“I’ve never seen anything like this in my career as a Denver firefighter,” Cpt. Greg Pixley told 9 News in a story published Thursday.

The area where his body was found was roped off, and there were visible signs as well. Relatives told the station that Komisarchik, who had mental health issues related to his age, likely ignored the signs.

Komisarchik was last seen on July 5, according to the station. The emergency alarm in the elevator was pressed the following day, and the fire department is looking into why a dispatcher was not contacted when the button was pushed.

“It is a tragedy, but things like this don’t happen often,” Pixley told 9 News.

“If we were to find anything out that we can improve our methods or our means to provide a better service to the citizens of Denver, we will do that.”

Family members recalled how Komisarchik vanished just days after they last saw him.

“He actually walked to the mailbox to pick up the mail and to the office to get some things from there and then he just disappeared,” daughter Yelena told 9 News last month.

“He couldn’t take long walks. He physically couldn’t do that. He could’ve gotten disoriented at times.”

The cause of Komisarchik’s death has not yet been determined, as officials said it’s difficult to determine when a body is badly decomposed.

Naturally, humans are insatiable, we tend to desire more even when we have the best. Ours is never good enough except your neighbours. Little wonder there are more broken homes these days due to cheating either by the man or the woman despite the increase in relationship counsellors.

Cheating is not is particular to a certain gender anymore. Research has proven that the female gender tends to cheat more than the male counterpart. It can be compared to the proverbial saying if you can’t beat them you join them.

The funny thing is that those that are cheating are the ones always on the tail of their partner just because they themselves are not clean.

They prefer their partner being reserved while they perform all sorts of acrobatics in bed with someone else’s partner and will then come back home like a saint.

They know all the moves as they are deep in the act, yet, they don’t want their partner to be savoured by someone else.

Chelsea Owner Roman Abramovich And His Wife Separate

BILLIONAIRE Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has split from his wife Dasha Zhukova.

The private pair, who have two children together, Aaron and Leah, reportedly met in 2005 and secretly married in 2008.

Abramovich, who is worth a reported £6.9billion, is set for another costly divorce following his split with ex-wife Irina Vyacheslavovna Malandina, who received a settlement of around £150million in 2007.

A Kenyan pastor, Terry Gobanga has described her horrific tale of how she was failed to show up at her wedding because she was gang-raped, stabbed and left for dead, in Nairobi Kenya. She was attacked for 6 hours.

In an exclusive interview with BBC, she recalled the story back to the night before the wedding, the bride-to-be realised she had some of the clothes, her fiance – Harry was supposed to wear for the wedding. In the early hours of the next morning, her friend took them to him, and Ms Gobanga walked her to the bus stop.

But as she was making her way back home, she was “suddenly grabbed from behind” by men who proceeded to “dump” her in the back seat, she said.

“There were two more men inside, and they drove off. It all happened in a fraction of a second. A piece of cloth was stuffed in my mouth. I was kicking and hitting out and trying to scream,” she said.
“When I managed to push the gag out, I screamed: ‘It’s my wedding day!’ That was when I got the first blow. One of the men told me to ‘co-operate or you will die’.”

Gobanga recalled how the men took turns to rape her. “I felt sure I was going to die, but I was still fighting for my life, so when one of the men took the gag out of my mouth I bit his manhood,” she said.

“He screamed in pain and one of them stabbed me in the stomach. Then they opened the door and threw me out of the moving car.”

Ms Gobanga said that by the time police arrived, they thought she was dead. She was taken to the hospital and was able to communicate the fact she was a bride-to-be to the matron.

By coincidence, the first church the hospital called was the right one, she said. Her parents had been panicking after she failed to turn up at the church, and rumours “flew” that she might have simply changed her mind about the wedding.

When they heard where she was, her parents came to the hospital with the “whole entourage”, and Harry was carrying her wedding gown.

“That was where the doctors stitched me up and gave me some devastating news: ‘The stab wound went deep into your womb, so you won’t be able to carry any children’,” she said.

While she and her fiance got married seven months after the brutal attack, tragedy struck again when he died less than a month later due to carbon dioxide inhalation.

Several years later, however, Ms Gobanga has re-married, and despite being told she wouldn’t be able to have children, she has given birth to two daughters.

Summing up her traumatic experience and her attitude to adversity, she told the BBC: “I have forgiven my attackers. It wasn’t easy but I realised I was getting a raw deal by being upset with people who probably don’t care.
