Nothing dear, my husband has written the ABH last month, they said that they are waiting for authorisation. Is very unfair the way they are treating us but is well.

Fine oh. Lawyer came for verification early May, 2023 but up till this moment we don’t know if he has submitted the report or not. That’s it for now.

@ Chidi4eze how far? This visa process is really taking long, right now I don't understand anything again, 8months after interview Chaii, is well, it will surely ends in praise

Hi dear, good morning

Here’s my timeline;

Booked appointment for my son & I in July 2021

Got appointment for him (passport) Feb 2022 so the verification for both of us started then

Lawyer visited in March same year

Then I got appointment for myself in September to come submitted my documents as mine & my sons’ couldn’t be merged cause our applications were different

Verification complete mail 27th January

Was asked to Submitted my passport in April 2023 which I did about a week after (May)

Passport was delivered with visa in May as well.

Luckily for me my husband wasn’t asked to submit any document at his foreign office so there wasn’t any unnecessary delay again.

Hey guys, I’ve finally received my passport back with the Visa as well.

Here’s my timeline,

30th March 2023: Applied for blue card appointment
31.03.2023 - Got an email with a date for appointment
26.04.2023 - Visa appointment at the German embassy

—Multiple mails to blast and disturb them for a reply because the anxiety wasn’t funny

31.5.2023 - Request for travel date and insurance
5.6.2023 - Docs arrived at the embassy via DHL
8.6.2023 - Embassy activated my prepaid envelope and sent my documents via DHL
13.6.2023 - Visa received from DHL

Also, I didn’t use Pre-approval because I got an appointment too quick and wasn’t able to get it before my appointment date.

OK thanks for your response, they have not answered me too. I don't understand why is taking time. This is 4months that my husband submitted documents.

Just calm down, hopefully you will get your email on Friday 30th of June or 7th of July. Except they have changed the waiting period.

Hi ,i applied last year June 5th precisely and till now there has been no invitation. I reached out via email and they replied stating that the process for reunion visa is now presently about 1yr 6months.

Hi Everyone,

I had been observing from afar for about 6 months now and just reading comments so that I could know what to expect for my husband's visa process. Here's a timeline of how my husband's visa application process went:

September 2021: Applied for appointment date (he was just my fiance then so you don't have to wait till you're married to book for a date as I read recently)
October 2022: Got interview date
November 2022: Had interview. Interviewer told him that the verification and A1 certificate is not necessary. i think this is because at the time my application to transition from student visa to blue card was still pending and he mentioned to them that I had applied for a blue card. The interviewer told him to bring back older pictures of us LOL, which he also submitted in November.

We didn't hear anything from either embassy or ABH between November and February. I wrote ABH in February to ask for a status update and they said I had to wait for my resident permit to be issued before they can continue with my husband's application. In the meantime, the salary requirement for blue card increased in 2023 and I had to switch from a blue card application to a resident permit for employment purposes.

March 14, 2023: Had interview to change my resident status from student to worker. I was told they will not process my husband's visa until I have physically picked up the permit, which took another 6 weeks.

April 26, 2023: Picked up resident permit

May 4: Got a letter from the ABH that some documents were not properly filled. So I filled them correctly and sent it back that same May 4.

After a week later, I called the embassy and asked for an update since i did not hear anything from the ABH. They said I have to wait and the lady I spoke to wasn't very nice anyway. i sent an email as well after my call asking for an update.

May 16: Got the email to submit passport, travel insurance and travel dates.

May 18: Submitted all documents.

May 26: Got passport back with visa and all documents.

His travel date is not until August since we only had the legal wedding last year, so we plan to do the church wedding before we both leave for Germany. All we had to do was submit travel insurance and ticket itinerary and made sure they matched, and they issued his visa to commence on his exact day of exit from Nigeria.

Gosh the whole anxiety concerning this process is something else, I was the one with the anxiety and my husband was chill the whole time LOL.I pray everyone who is waiting will be granted their visa cause this thing is not easy.

Thank God, this is good news dear it will soon end in praise for all of us. This our journey changes our name to patience, am still waiting for ABH approval since 3months now is well.

Thanks everyone for your concerns,we are all in this together. I see us as a small family. At exactly 7months after my visa interview, the lawyer called,Since I am in a different city from my parents and where all my school and other documents were to be verified,he saw me first as he also needed to verify with my employer before proceeding to see my parent and also to verify my documents which are in the same state as my parents. I am so happy, atleast one step forward. Now it's to wait for verification complete email then send your passport and travel date email,I can't wait.

Most of the tiny details are similar to most experiences and timeline just a bit stretched while waiting for lawyer’s visit.

PS - spouse is a blue card holder and wasn’t required to do verification. Also, reaching out to the embassy helps a lot, via email, not phone cos the woman that picks the call can discourage you. For each of the milestones above, reached out to the embassy a day or two before

Expect your appointment date on the 12th or 19th of May

Yes there will be an issue if you did not book your appointment with your name as it is in your passport, you won't be allowed inside is stated there, please if you have submitted, you can cancel and rebook, it happened to me.
The mail that you will receive after successfully booking gives us opportunity to cancel wait and confirm that it has been canceled and rebook again. Is better to wait for some hours than to wait for another 13months.

I have come to testify God's mercy.... And tell how it all went..

June 2021... Booked for an appointment (i was pregnant,
Gave birth October 2021….. my baby clocked 2months, i booked for him as well)

July 2022.... We both went for interview...

Dead silence.... Until

October 2022... Got a call from the lawyer,

November 2022.... We met the lawyer...(he had already gone to the north to verify my primary and secondary school).. cos i was born and bred in KD State, then relocated to Onitsha...
( sometimes, Northern verifications is another factor for delay, some lawyers are scared to travel to the north for an applicants sake)

Silence again
.
February 2023.... Verification complete mail was sent...

March 23th 2023.... Embassy requested for our passports, travel insurance and date... Which we sent immediately..

April 3 2023.... Our documents arrived with stamped Visas

April 26... We left Nigeria and landed in Frankfurt 27th April 2023..


I must confess, this group helped me mentally, when i got to know i wasn't waiting alone, there was some sort of relief 😮‍💨....

You don't have to get new ones, my original First school Leaving Certificate and NYSC certificate was laminated and it wasn't a problem provided they are original.

Hello Guys please i want ask about laminate decument, my primary and secondary decument is all laminate and the marriage registry office said the embassy may not accept the decument with laminate. Do you think it’s a problem or i should go and get fresh document? Thank you.

4 qutn1: I will advise you first of all go to the school where you obtained the testimonial and confirm that:
A. The school is still existing
B. Your name is in the school register because presenting your testimonial and your school cannot attest that truly you attended the school won't be good.
4 qstn2: Write the name of the secondary school you obtained your SSCE with prove that your name is in the SSCE master sheet because the picture will be taken by your lawyer.

Be careful and don't contradict your documents with different names, dates etc. Wishing you all the best.

1. So, I left primary school in primary 4 and never wrote primary school leaving exam. But I have a testimonial from my primary school. Can this suffice as evidence for my primary school education?

2. I attended 2 different secondary schools, and unfortunately, both secondary schools have packed up. Though I obtained my secondary school leaving certificate from the second.
Now my question as regards this is on the form to fill, I noticed that there is only space for one secondary school. So how do I incorporate the previous secondary school I attended and do I need to notify them that both schools are no longer in existence?

I would appreciate all the help I can get as this has been a huge source of worry for me. Thanks🙏
