Sports / Arsene Wenger Offers To Train Nigerian Coaches by vexy06(m): 4:57pm On Feb 25, 2015
In the bid to build alliances that would strengthen football in Nigeria, NFF President, Amaju Pinnick, has revealed that his visit to Arsenal was not to talk about players alone, as Arsene Wenger was teaching him some trade secrets, which has made Arsenal a very top side.

The president further stated that, “if you want to be the best, then you must roll with the best, as the English Premier League manager will start tutoring handlers of Nigeria national teams.

“Arsene taught me a couple of things during my visit even in administration. You need to learn from the best to be ranked among the best''. he said

“I hailed his knowledge, he’s truly a professor. It goes beyond just teaching you things on the field, there’s need to also gain some knowledge off the field too.

“He has also pledged to make himself available to us whenever we needed to train our senior coaches, Arsene was overwhelmed by our visit.” -

Nairaland / General / Mali Records 2-year-old Girl As First Ebola Victim by vexy06(m): 2:52pm On Oct 24, 2014
A 2-year-old girl in Mali has been diagnosed with Ebola, making her the West African country's first confirmed case.
CNN reports that the girl was brought to Mali from neighboring Guinea, where the outbreak this year is believed to have started. The girl, whose father died of Ebola, was taken to the hospital in Kayes after a nurse noticed she was suffering from what appeared to be Ebola-like symptoms. A test confirmed the girl has Ebola.
Health Ministry spokeswoman Markatie Daou said:
"The girl is still in the hospital in Kayes together with members of her family who might have been exposed to the virus," she said.
The confirmed case in Mali makes it the sixth West African country to be hit by the virus, which the WHO reported has killed more than 4,800 people.

Sports / Keshi Slams Nff I Had No Contract After World In Brazil So I Was Not Sacked by vexy06(m): 3:14pm On Oct 20, 2014
Ex-Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi has said he was not sacked by the Nigeria Football Federation. In his first official to his sacking by the NFF, he argued that his contract with the NFF ended with the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, saying it would be inappropriate for anybody to say he was sacked.
Keshi spoke on Saturday at the Kwara State stadium during the final of the 28th edition of All Financial Institutions Football competition.
“I was never sacked by the NFF. It’s if you have an existing contract that you would be sacked. Super Eagles can still qualify for the 2015 AFCON. They have the chance, because the group is still open. They only need to work harder.

Explain Asari Dokubo’s role in the $9.3m cash-for-arms scandal to Nigerians; APC tells Presidency
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has asked President Goodluck Jonathan to explain to Nigerians what Mujaheed Asari Dokubo, was doing on the plane that illegally ferried US$9.3 million to South Africa, where Asari Dokubo, another Nigerian and an Israeli were arrested, according to a published report.
In a statement issued in Abuja on Wednesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said since the federal government has taken ownership of the funds by saying the National Security Adviser (NSA) issued the end-user certificate for the arms purchase, it stands to reason that the same government will know the involvement of all those aboard the plane.

Nairaland / General / Worrying: An Avoidable Debt by vexy06(m): 6:13am On Oct 08, 2014
Permit me to break your heart by telling you that most times peoples views to the state of things, events and/or its future outcome at a particular time and place are most times customary and/or parochial.
It’s therefore amusing, morally or socially repugnant to say the least. I’m not saying that people should not think or cast a mind on bad or negative state of things or events, but in doing so we must give way to qualitative reasoning and logic. In other words; Commonsensical knowledge must agree with Logic because they are interrelated and interdependent.
Specifically therefore; WORRYING most times can be said to be a debt which you never collected but you pay with huge interest. But we forge our own paths, nothing in this world is impossible when hearts and minds are put towards it.
Without mincing words; we must give up meaningless superstitious beliefs and parochial thinking because it brings nothing but worries to us …….. Worrying on negative things that most times never came to effect as we may have predicted or forecasted --- forgetting that most of us are not seers.
