Homemade boli is quite easy to make.
You will need:
- Plantain
- A microwave oven
Yes. That’s all you need really, it’s that simple.
The kind of plantain you use will depend on how you like your boli; whether you prefer the very ripe and soft plantain for boli, the unripe and hard type or the one that’s just ripe, neither too soft or hard.
1. First you rinse the plantain and then peel off the skin.
2. Next you place the plantain on a plate and put in your microwave oven. Set the heat to medium or hot.
3. Turn the sides of the plantain from time to time, so it can cook properly and evenly.
4. Leave to cook for 10-15 minutes, depending on the quantity of plantain and how ripe it is. After 10- 15 minutes it would be a nice golden brown colour, if you like your boli extra crisp, then you can leave it to cook for a few extra minutes.
5. Serve as desired!

Paris Saint-Germain CEO, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, has made it clear that Neymar will not leave for Real Madrid this summer.
Al-Khelaifi was speaking after PSG lost at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday.

A 12-year-old housemaid Miss Faith Nwanja has narrated how her madam tortured her regularly.
Nwanja, currently in custody of Ezza-South Local Government in Ebonyi state, narrated to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Abakaliki, the dehumanizing treatment meted on her by her madam, Mrs Nkechinyere Bartholomew in Onitsha, Anambra state.
The girl, a native of Okoffia-Ohaji, said Bartholomew, now at large, subjected her to serious torture for four years.
“My mistress usually inserts sticks inside my vagina, hits me with iron rods, wires and also ties me with chain whenever she is going out.
“My Aunty always uses blade to cut my skin.
“These scars, injuries on my head, body and lips were inflicted on me by my Aunty for 4 year,.” she said
Mrs Ngozi Nwanja, the mother of the victim, said her daughter was 8 when she was handed over to Bartholomew.
She said efforts to see her daughter was not successful as Bartholomew’s mother always claimed that her daughter’s contact number was not reachable.
“When Bartholomew came for my child through her mother who resided in Idembia Ezza-South LGA, she promised that her daughter will take good care of her,’’ she said.
Mr Godwin Igwe, Head of Department, Child Development in the state ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development,confirming the incident described the degree of injures on the victim as real damage and evil.
He said “The Chairman of Head of Department of Education and Social Welfare of the council. Mr Sunday Ogodo, ordered the arrest of the mother and brother of the accused because they were conniving to shield Bartholomew from arrest.
“Her mother and brother have been released by the police, but her younger sister is still in detention because she stays in Onitsha with them and also brought the victim back to Ebonyi along with her aunty.
“The perpetrator boasted that she will settle the matter with money.
“This is worrisome. There is increasing cases of child brutalization.
“From all indications Nwanja’s hand is condemned and we don’t know the extent of damage to her brain and other parts of her body,” Igwe said.
Igwe further appealed to the government, Civil Society Organisation (CSO), philanthropists, International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA), the police and public who are interested in Child protection to save children from abuses.
“Bartholomew would be prosecuted to serve as deterrent to others and the victim would be taken to the hospital for medical examination and treatment.
“We will take steps to stop the trend as its portraying a negative image of the country before the International community,” Igwe added.

The United Kingdom’s Charity Commission, has declared the Christ Embassy branch in its country insolvent.
On its website, the Charity Commission flagged Christ Embassy owned by popular Nigerian televangelist, Chris Oyakhilome as “charity insolvent”.
According to the commission, a charity is considered as being insolvent when it is “unable to pay its debts.”
Report says the ministry’s annual return for the years 2013 to 2014 indicated that a total of N7.6 billion (£15.1million) was paid to the interim manager. The church still has an outstanding fee of N1.1 billion (£2215,914) to pay the interim manager in 2015.
“In practice there are two separate tests for insolvency and failure of either might be an indication of insolvency: The charity cannot pay its debts as they fall due for payment; The value of its liabilities exceeds its assets.
“Charities will be flagged as insolvent on our register when we are made aware of an insolvency situation and we are provided with verification from a qualified, independent insolvency practitioner,” the commission explained.

When reached for comments, an official of the church, who refused to identify himself, was furious that this newspaper wanted to do a story about the church.

Through my research and experiences about relationships i had got to know a handful and important things about Relationships. Pressing on, I have seen a lot of educated men who boast of getting married to someone of their taste and lifestyle. Some even go to the extent of listing what they want in a woman which education is included, but afterwards they end up getting married to an uneducated partner. Most especially to a village girl.
Most times, village marriages seem peaceful,Most men believes that village wives are the best cook, the best mothers, and the best women that handle men on bed, .LOL!!! Yes they are better on bed. 52% of men that are married to a Village woman have no regrets of marrying them.

I have been inspired by many marriages in Nigeria, on how most men end up marrying village girls.

There was a friend of mine, he was a hard working mathematics teacher, he had taught in one of the biggest school in my area, he also had a home of his own, he was comfortable and had planned to marry as every man would dream of doing.This dude is kinda loaded in cash but not that much. He was 40 years old and wanted to get married at that time.
He told me, he was going to the village to pick a village girl. I was surprised and asked him why the village instead if the city? He wasn't even ready to listen to me but he gave me his reasons which were:

The Cost of maintenance is practically small compared to that of a city girl.The money spent on a village girl can't be compared to that of a village girl.The hair do of a village girl may cost N250 when compared to that of a city girl who wants Brazilian hair, Peruvian hair, hair bundles and all kinds of hair which cost thousands of naira , , don't forget the hair stylist fee hasn't been included. We have also not talked about her makeup, which would be more expensive when compared to a village girl who will always go for lip gloss and white powder.
