What do you mean by Russia not having enough opportunity to colonise Africa or not being big enough to compete? Even Sweden colonised Africa. That's to tell you how everyone was scrambling for Africa.

Sweden is right next door to Russia. And its smaller, weaker and poorer compared to ancient Russia. Yet it colonised us. So why can't Russia colonise us if it wanted to?

Russia didn't colonise Africa cos it wasn't interested in colonialism.

Russia wanted to trade with Africa but couldn't even get that cos the rest insisted it had to colonise any region it wanted to trade with.

Lastly, no one here hates the West cos they colonised us. Rather, it's you and your colleagues that hate Russia cos the West told you to.

If we ask why you hate Russia or China, you won't be able to point to anything.

Back to the West, we only dislike (not hate) their aggressive foreign policy that promotes warfare, death, and destruction just to get what they want.

Then there's the imperialism where they bully everyone, take their resources, and still try to take a moralistic position in everything using extensive propaganda championed by their control of the media.

That's the problem. Countries don't need to be equal. But when some countries decide to keep others down so that they can be up, there's bound to be problems.

Lastly, it's Putin and not putin.

I have learnt a lot here...We keep haranguing and harassing the west here probably because they were once colonial powers.We have been exploited and robbed by the so called 'evil west',which is true.The question we should ask our selves is,would Russia have been a better colonial power if they had the opportunity?No.For God's sake,the Russian Empire was the last state to abolish serfdom in the late 19th century to early 20th century.Would a state that subjugated its own people been any better?No.Russia were not colonialists because they simply were not strong enough to compete.Damn,these guys were thoroughly beaten by a newly industrialised Japan in the 1904-1905 war.So before you become a putin ass licker,get your history classes right.Africa needs to look inwards to better herself.Jumping from the west into the embrace of Russia to me is jumping from frying pan to fire.Peace!
