The people of the west would tell you that there is no living singer who can dance like Usher. They love him specially for his dance moves and often times they liken Usher’s dance moves to that of Micheal Jackson’s. His fans would tell you how he reaches for their hearts with his sonorous vocals and they’d give testaments of the emotional appeal of his songs like Burn, Confession and In This Club. They’d gush about how he makes them dance with songs like Good Kisser and U Don’t To Call. They call him Mr Entertainment because according to them, he is the total package with good looks, socially active, he sings amazingly and his break dance moves are legendary. But all that is in US, in Nigeria, Peter Okoye is the Mr. Entertainer. Whilst Usher would light up Madison square, Peter Okoye (with Paul by his side) owns the shows in Africa. On stage, he is a mix of a dancing Michael Jackson and a singing Usher. Mr. P, as Peter Okoye is now preferably referred to, shares a lot of similarities with the Dallas-born singer. Not only do they share facial and other physical similarities, their singing sounds so alike that you can rename an Usher song and name Mr. P as the singer without detection (okay I’m only exaggerating) but yeah, Mr. P is the closest to Usher on the African continent (when he chooses to go the RnB path like he did on Say Your Love, Temptation and Omoge Mi). While a lot of artistes have tried to lay claim to the title of ‘African Michael Jackson,’ Peter Okoye appears to be most deserving of the title, a title similar to the ‘heir to MJ’ title which Usher holds (till someone else appears on the scene with MJ’s dance style and numbers sha). Usher is revered for balancing his soulful singing with his energetic dances and around here in Africa, Peter Okoye is the man with such ability, especially when goes shirtless performing one of the many popular P-Square songs. I expect a lot of people to challenge me if I say Wizkid shares similarities with Justin Bieber but likening Peter Okoye to Usher Raymond is one of the few things I expect even my enemies to agree with me on.

The 30-year-old has been snapped up by the Green and Black till the end of the season after reaching personal terms with the club. Elderson Echiejile has joined Belgian First Division B side Cercle Brugge on loan from French outfit Monaco. The defender teamed up with the Ligue 1 side in January 2014 after penning a four-and-a-half-year deal. The Super Eagles defender spent the first half of the 2017-18 season on loan at Turkish Super Lig side, Sivasspor and made ten appearances in all competitions. |

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal's leading hotel chain, Pestana, will open a new hotel in Marrakech in 2019. CR7 -- a trademark of the Portugal captain's initials and his squad number-- and Pestana Hotel Group will invest €40 million on the 4 star, 168-room hotel in Morocco which will then be leased. The project will be financed and owned by Moroccan investor M Avenue. The hotel in Marrakech is the fifth under the Pestana CR7 Lifestyle hotels brand with one each already opened on Madeira Island, where the two partners hail from, and in Lisbon. There are two hotels currently under construction, which will be open late this year, in Madrid and in New York. Forbes considers Ronaldo the world's highest-paid footballer -- and highest-paid team athlete -- with $93m (£71.7m) in earnings, made up of an annual salary of $58m (£44.7m) and $35m (£26.9m) in endorsements. |
Chelsea have agreed an £18 million move for Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud, as the Gunners look to secure Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund for £55.4m. The Blues switched their focus to Giroud and Tottenham's Fernando Llorente after failing in their attempts to sign Edin Dzeko from Roma. Giroud travelled with Arsenal for Tuesday night's match against Swansea City, but the 31-year-old will likely be left out ahead of the shock move to the rival club. Chelsea have been able to convince Arsenal to sell Giroud to them with Dortmund needing a replacement before sanctioning the sale of Aubameyang. Dortmund have earmarked Michy Batshuayi, who will now be able to make a loan move to Germany to replace the Gabon international. |
Manchester City are considering a deadline-day move for Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez, sources have told ESPN FC. Leroy Sane has been ruled out for up to seven weeks with an ankle injury and City, still competing in four competitions, could now turn to the Algeria international. And in the wake of news of City's interest, both the BBC and Sky Sports reported that Mahrez handed in a transfer request to Leicester. City have already broken their club record by completing the signing of Athletic Bilbao defender Aymeric Laporte and would need to break it again to sign Mahrez.

Nigeria forward Ahmed Musa has rejoined CSKA Moscow on a six-month loan deal from Leicester City. Musa passed a medical on Monday night, and returns to the club he left in July 2016 after failing to tie down a regular place in the Foxes first team. The 25-year-old has only made 18 league appearances for Leicester since joining in the summer of 2016 and has spent most of that time out of the match-day squad, putting his place in Nigeria's World Cup squad in jeopardy. He told KweséESPN exclusively on Monday night that he just wants a reset: "I have just signed and the good thing is that I am back and better now. Football starts again."

Luis Enrique is not expecting another Champions League walkover
when his Barcelona side face Celtic on Wednesday night.
Barca thrashed the Hoops 7-0 in their opening Group C clash in
September and are favourites to complete the double against
Brendan Rodgers' side to clinch qualification with one game
remaining.
Enrique straight-batted a question about Lionel Messi being linked
with the group's second-placed side, Manchester City, by simply
saying: ``I don't know''.
However, the former Spain international expects to see a Celtic
side who battled out a 3-3 draw with the English club at Parkhead
at the end of September, as opposed to the one which collapsed in
Catalonia.
Enrique said: ``It is going to be a different game completely.
``We have to be ready for everything.
``It is good to score early in all games but Celtic need points so
they will come out but again I say it will be different, it will be
nothing like the game that we had before.
``The Camp Nou is not a reference, what will be a reference is the
game against Manchester City.''
Enrique expects Messi to recover from the illness which kept him
out of Saturday's goalless draw with Malaga. He added: ``Lionel is
always ready to play and I am sure tomorrow he will be ready.''
Meanwhile, Gerard Pique will recover from a knock he picked up at
the weekend, with Luis Suarez returning from suspension.
The Barca boss, speaking through an interpreter at Celtic Park
before Barcelona trained, is looking for his side to enjoy what is
sure to be another great European atmosphere on Wednesday
night as the Hoops, bottom of the group with two points, look for
an unlikely win.
He said: ``Players always want to play in a great atmosphere.
``The atmosphere is everything, the Celtic fans travel in numbers,
they are a fantastic support here and away.
``Above all football is really about enjoying it.
``I just ask my players to go and enjoy it and if we do we will
qualify for the next round.''
Rodgers, meanwhile, insists his side were improved not harmed by
their 7-0 thrashing in Spain.
The Hoops started their Champions League Group C campaign in
September by being put to the sword by Barca's superstars as
Messi scored a hat-trick, Suarez two, with Neymar and Andres
Iniesta also on target after Parkhead striker Moussa Dembele had
a penalty saved when Celtic were one down.
The Scottish champions have two collected points from four
fixtures and need a win in their final two matches to have a chance
of European football after Christmas.
Rodgers said: ''Out there, we made a very bad start to the game,
going 1-0 behind, we had the opportunity to equalise, we had
threats on counter attacks.
''Obviously we didn't get (score) the penalty and very quickly they
get the second goal.
''And once Barcelona - like they have shown many times against
better teams than ourselves in all honesty - get that rhythm and
that flow in the game, it is very hard to contain it.
''So lots of learning came from that, lots of development both in
terms of our team mentality and our game, came from that
performance.
''At the time of course, I said it was very disappointing but it hasn't
harmed us, if anything, it has only improved us a group and as a
squad.''
Rodgers will give Leigh Griffiths another 24 hours to prove his
fitness ahead of the match.
The striker is suffering from a tight hamstring which kept him out
of the 1-0 win over Kilmarnock on Friday night. |

Liverpool look to have completed a transfer deal for Bury defender Emeka Obi after the player appeared to confirm the move on Twitter. Obi, 15, became the youngest ever player to feature for Bury’s first-team when he made his debut for the League One outfit back in August. The Bury Times suggest Liverpool agreed to bring the highly-rated 6ft 5ins centre-back to Anfield after pre-contract papers were signed by both clubs. Visa issues, due to Obi’s Nigerian heritage, were understood to have originally held up the move to Merseyside but a deal appears to have been wrapped up. ‘I think he’s the best talent right now at 15 years old in the entire country,’ Bury boss David Flitcroft said following Obi’s debut. ‘He only came in the building two years ago and nothing fazes him. He’s been training with the first team and he’s going back to school next week. ‘We’ve had him for five weeks, training with the first team, training with Ryan Kidd and he’s been playing with the Under-18s. ‘He’s just turned 15, he’s a man mountain, but we teach them how to play football and he’s going to be an unbelievable asset to the football club. ‘He’s a kid that’s really switched on, I’ve watched him while he’s been on summer holidays and he’s been in every single day.’

The 20-year old forward is expected to beef up the White Knights attacking options after sealing a move away from Juventus El Arab. Egyptian giant Al Ahly have announced the signing of Nigeria U23 forward Junior Ajayi on a four year contract. The 20-year old striker signed for a reported fee of $2million [about #500 million] from Tunisian side CS Sfaxien. Ajayi is currently with Nigeria’s U-23 team in Rio for the Olympics. The striker is expected to beef up the White Knight’s attacking options following the departure of Malick Evouna.

Ahmed Musa came off the bench at half-time to score twice in Leicester City’s 4-2 defeat to Barcelona in Wednesday’s International Champions Cup played at Friends Arena, Solna, Sweden. Musa joined the Foxes from CSKA Moscow in the summer, and has a reputation for scoring remarkable goals. A double from Munir El Haddadi and a strike from Luis Suarez had put the Blaugrana three goals up in the first half, but the Nigerian attempted a comeback for Claudio Ranieri’s men after replacing Demarai Gray. His introduction was among a raft of substitutions made by Ranieri at the interval and the Super Eagles’ star struck two goals as he bids for a regular shirt with the King Power Stadium outfit. Musa is expected to feature for the English champions when they face Manchester United in the FA Community Shield on Sunday. |

Ogenyi Onazi says he has moved to Turkey "to clear my head"
after joining Trabzonspor from Lazio.
The Nigeria midfielder, 23, has signed a four-year contract after
leaving Italy for personal reasons.
"I needed to make this move to clear my head and be happy
playing football again," he told BBC Sport.
Onazi has dismissed worries about security in Turkey, despite a
failed coup against President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in July.
"Personally, I think security is the same everywhere," Onazi added.
"Nowhere is perfectly safe in life, so we just keep praying that God
will guide and protect us wherever we go."
Onazi spent five years with Lazio, who he joined from Nigerian
club My People, and scored seven goals in 110 appearances.
Injury and lack of form hampered him last season, and he almost
left in January, when a proposed loan move to Bundesliga side
Werder Bremen collapsed.
He played 20 games for Lazio during the campaign, although he
became a more regular starter when Simone Inzaghi took over as
coach in April.
"I left Lazio for personal reasons," said Onazi, who had two years
left to run in his contract at the Stadio Olimpico, and had been
offered a deal to extend it. |
