Mr Joseph Odok, who is one of the lecturer and the social change agent in the university of calabar, faculty of Law, received a query through the office of the university of calabar vice chancellor for an article he wrote about the university expressing his personal opinion while recommending that the university, should expand on consultation and inclusion of all relevant people in convocation especially, people that have met impacted more on the university.
In addition to that, he further explained that on the 12th of may, he got another query from the vice chancellor on an allegation of a petition written against him by one Prof Dada, which he replied same and also humbly requested that the university of calabar made available to him, copies of the petition to appropriately respond to the petition. Shockingly , he said on 16th of may, he was handed a suspension letter with claims insubordination and flagrant disregard to the constitution authority, and a SUSPENSION FROM SERVICE for not responding queries given him a month after he was given queries.

He also explained that his vice chancellor got it wrong and may not have been adequately informed that he gave appropriate response to his queries. not only that he did respond to the queries issued, he made sure the office of the registrar gave him acknowledgement copies to then replies to queries. Adding to that, he heartily advised the vice chancellor to check his records fine and treat the university as a university established by law and not a kind of banana plantation in a Banana Republic.
Mr Joseph Odok who also gave an attached of document showing the replies to his queries also said his first queries was responded to a retraction of his post , the second clearly demanded that the university avail him with a copy of the petition allegedly written to him since June 2016, and dusted by the vice chancellor to witch haunt him over an article which he felt bad about .
He also reminded the V.C, that he reserves the right to have a petition before he can be obliged to respond to it. He ended by saying that the university is not well advised that they are getting it all wrong.
