Congratulations Haliimmaa: Hey Hey. I've been okay. So the first thing I did was to find my way to the city center and got a number with telekom and paid for a prepaid subscription. I then proceeded to open a Revolut bank account. I looked for appointment dates to register my anmeldung and couldn't find one close to me so I booked an appointment in another district. Went for the appointment and got my anmeldung in under 10 minutes. I recently got a job and realized that the DR Walter's health insurance does not provide you with an SVNR(social security number) so I had to register with a public health insurance(registered with TK) and government office sent me my SVNR. I currently need to switch from the opportunity visa to a Blue card so I'm running around looking for an appointment before my start date which is next week. Anyone who can help should please reach out.
I did not use a blocked account so I can't help with that.
As for accommodation, I had it all sorted out before I even got to Germany. The landlord has to put your name plate on your mailbox so you can get letters like your tax id, SVNR, insurance number, insurance card, deliveries, e.t.c
As for my job search, I was fortunate to get a job with the first company I interviewed with. I'm an iOS developer so the interview was first a HR interview, a 90 minutes live coding session and "meet the team". I got a job in 6 weeks of being here. If I could do it, you can as well.
Let me know if you're curious about anything else |

1. Written Test: Short test of 10–15 questions. 2. Subjects: Based on your field of study. For example: Computer Science graduate: Mathematics and Computer Science questions. Mechanical Engineering graduate: Mathematics and Physics questions. Note: In some rare cases, they might ask you to pick your favorite subjects and test you on those. Tip: Review the basics of your field thoroughly. 3. Motivation Letter: Include planned stay, career and personal benefits, and future goals. 4. Formatting: Left-aligned; include your own address and the embassy’s address. Omonene031: Good afternoon house ,Please I need clarity on the following: 1. Is it an oral or written test 2. Is the test based on your course of study or work experience for people who studied something different from their work experience 3. When writing the motivation letter what areas are expected to be there? 4. Should the letter be justified or aligned left?
I would appreciate feedback from as many people as can assist |

One thing I truly admire about him is his willingness to answer everyone’s questions thoroughly. Even if he’s been offline for a while, he always responds once he’s back, especially when you mention him in a post. He was actually the first person to reply to my question about the Opportunity Card back in March. I once sent him an email, but he only communicates via Nairaland. If he’s reading this — or if anyone here knows him personally — please let him know we’d love to have him back. He should let go of any past misunderstandings. We genuinely appreciate all the help he’s given, and may God reward him abundantly. Our goal here is to make it to Germany together. I see us as one big family, supporting each other now and in the future. May all our travel dreams come true, in Jesus’ name. Amen. God bless everyone! herlonso: Hannania should come back o.
Regardless of anything, he has been helpful. Flops may happen even though the reason why Heleena lost his application may not be solely due to the reason he thought cos from his own write up, he wasn't entirely sure.
And to Cyberbro, when you saw that info he gave was wrong, you should have at least created a dispute like the one you dropped about the language test. This will create doubt and perhaps prompt people to research more about it before acting.
The writeup by Heleena is condemning and I understand why Hannania deleted his profile cos when you're trying to help and people now turn around and pin the blame on you when something goes wrong.
Let’s remember: this is not a paid thread, and no one is profiting from the information shared here. Everyone follows guidance at their own discretion. If something doesn’t work out, the responsibility ultimately rests with the individual, not with those offering free advice. Hannania’s contributions have helped people with more than 95% accuracy, and that deserves acknowledgment.
If anyone feels misled, it’s best to express it politely rather than writing condemning responses. The same information we discuss here is publicly available to everyone. I’m not sure Hannania will return, but I truly hope he does. In the meantime, knowledgeable contributors like Cyberbro can continue where he left off. And please, let’s all remember: anyone acting on advice shared here does so at their own risk. |

Alright bro, I just wanted to ask if you know Hannania personally or have been in contact with him. Please tell him we’d love to have him back in the group and that he should let go of whatever happened. We all know he was only trying to help us, and we truly appreciate everything he’s done so far. Thanks! cyberbro: There you have it bro. They are testing people for sure! 👍🏽
PS: I don't do DMs bro. We can keep relating here. Thanks for understanding my oga 🙂 |

God bless you for confirming, I’ve been waiting for the day someone would confirm that Opportunity Card applicants are indeed taking a test. Many people told me to stop posting about the test, but I was only trying to help by letting you all know how to prepare so it wouldn’t come as a surprise. The questions are basic—just study according to your field. Wishing everyone the best of luck! cyberbro: The test is 100% real for opportunity card applicants.
A contact of mine who went there recently for his Chancenkarte interview said he was tested, but they're just basic questions. I believe it depends on your degree or field, so expect a short test in 1 or 2 subject areas.
They probably just want to be sure those going there to work have basic knowledge to contribute to their society. |

OMG, does anyone have his phone number or E-Mail so we can reach out to him? He has been such a supportive and valuable member of this group from the very beginning — always ready to help and share his knowledge. It would be a real loss not to have him around. I truly hope he comes back; misunderstandings happen sometimes, and we should all be able to move past them. Let’s remind him how much we appreciate everything he has done for us and encourage him to return. Tifay: Looks like Hannania has deleted his profile.

So happy you pushed through and didn’t let the setback hold you back. Thanks for your advice, and I wish you the best of luck. May all our travel dreams come true, in Jesus’ name, Amen. Helenaaa: Yes, I’m actually the person being referred to here. To be honest, I knew my account being blocked was connected to my choice to follow @Hannania’s advice at the time, but I accepted it and moved on. What else could I do? It had already happened.
Looking back, I don’t blame anyone. I should have trusted my own intuition and handled it differently. I also don’t want people to dismiss the person who shared that advice; he’s genuinely trying to help, share knowledge, and carry everyone along.
What I’ve learned (and said before in this forum) is: always do your own research. Follow the threads and listen to others who may know more, but, at the end of the day, cross-check and confirm things for yourself, especially when you feel confused or stuck.
In my case, I've lost time. My application was blocked and I had to start over.
Fortunately, things later worked out, and my new application was somewhat fast-tracked because of what happened. After a lot of back-and-forth, I’m back in and am now trying to schedule my interview/submission appointment.
The moral is that this could have been avoided. Had there been clearer guidance, even a simple 'I don't know' instead of 'The Embassy responds in real time', I probably would have submitted on time and might even have had my visa by now, like @Haliimmaa, who submitted around the same period.
So please learn from me: don’t rely solely on anyone’s advice, no matter how helpful they seem. Double-check, do your own due diligence, and don’t get carried away. If you lose your application, you’ll be starting over again and with the pool getting bigger by the day, delays will only get longer.
Wishing everyone the best, let’s all put in our best effort and stay on top of our own applications. |

You must complete all sections before submission. However, you can upload a placeholder document for now and update it later when they ask you to submit for preliminary review. This way, you can still secure a spot on the waiting list even if your documents are not yet finalized. Temmyday: Hello guys,
I have a question. Are i still gonna be on the waiting list even if my documents are not complete yet? I have not filled out three sections because my reference (sponsor) is not available yet. Or does all sections need to be completed before you are put on the waiting list. My Overview page shows right now that the waiting time is about 2-6 months... Can someone please explain?
Thank you very much. |

Thank you for your contribution. We are all here to learn and support each other in achieving our goals. I understand that we can correct one another, as nobody is perfect. Please, let’s not turn against each other. I pray we all achieve our dreams. God bless you, brother. cyberbro: You're the one with limitations here, especially with understanding and accepting corrections and facts. Telling people they can learn German and pass A1 all in 2 weeks and that this is cheaper than IELTS is complete garbage but you have an ego issue cos people mention you here for info.
I taught German for 5 years in Nigeria before moving to the UK, but you know everything better because you're active on this thread. 😏
Oya, tell us how you finished the entire A1 syllabus: nouns (Nomen), pronouns, cases (nominativ, akkusativ, dativ), present and past tense (Präteritum, Perfekt), adjectives and adjective endings, adverbs, letter writing (Brief Schreiben) Modal verbs, Numbers in German, just to mention a few, and you somehow managed to prepare for Lesen, Schreiben, Hören and Sprechen, all within 2 weeks... You think it's everyone you can give lamba? 🙃
I really pity those following you without doing their own research. That was how you advised someone not to send a feedback for correction on the portal, claiming the embassy could see his comment in real-time as if the portal was a chat site, and the guy ended up having his application struck out because he didn't send for correction. I am sure even the guy couldn't trace it back to your advice.
Anyways, continue... |

You can visit the school where you completed Primary 1–4 to request a testimonial. Alternatively, you can use your completion certificate from the school abroad, as the embassy mainly needs proof that you completed your primary education. Others should suggest as well, goodluck Missmarola: Hello everyone, Please I need assistance, I don't have my primary school certificate and I did only primary 1 to 4 in nigeria while primary 5 to 6 was completed outside nigeria. You cannot reduce waiting time when applying from Nigeria unless you are applying from Europe, every country have its own waiting time, your sponsor in Germany will get a sponsorship letter for you, For your primary school certificate, you can visit your primary school and get it in person Temmyday: Ive got a master in chemistry from belgium, do you think having an EU degree certificate helps reduce the waiting time.?
I could have done it while I was still in Europe but it was only recently I found out about this. Btw, I do have someone who's gonna act as a sponsor in Germany.
I also read something about primary school certificate? What is that? Do I need this to apply?

NPC birth certificate if the birth was registered before the age of 18
otherwise

affidavit* (“Declaration of Age”) of one parent or the head of the family if both parents are deceased (please hand in the death certificates) AND copy of an identity document showing the signature of the person making the affidavit makes an affidavit.
