I wanted to ask about this Anabin degree thingy. So when I search for my Bachelors degree - Computer science - on Anabin, under "university degrees," filtered with "Nigeria," I see it listed. But when I click on it, my alma mater - University of Ilorin - isn't listed under "awarding institutions." Do I still need to do ZAB?

ps: For Nigeria, only 3 universities are listed as degree awarding institutions for Computer Science, namely; Unilag, Kola Daisi University, and Anchor University.

i think if your university degree is H+ and your degree is recognized you can go ahead, one thing is confusing me, if you see your university degree type e.g BA.Ed., BSc.Ed etc. but they didn't mention your course like geology, sociology .etc., can i use it? hope they will accept And in 2022 i gained Masters admission to a public university in Germany if my degree wasn't recognized they won't give me the admission then, so i might risk it. 208 euros in naira exchange rate is much o lol

pls i want to understand more, currently on my registraton page it says waiting period is 2-8 weeks but the form is open for me to fill , when i'm done and after submission, will i need to wait for 2-8 weeks before they ask me to upload the document? and do you think i can still get dates within March if all my documents are okay by them? @Hannania

1. After you submit your documents on the consulate portal, they first check your SL/BA to make sure its complete. After that, they check other documents and ask for changes if there are any. It takes them 1 week to review after you've submitted and it's showing "Submitted for preliminary review". If everything is complete, they'll issue you a link to book an appointment which has available dates currently for this week until March ending. You'll get a decision 15 days after the interview at the embassy.

2. Fintiba will ask you for proof of funds source. If they're not satisfied, they might reject the funds. So just use Expatrio or coracle

3. BA and SL have the same weight. No one is above the other. Its a legal binding and the embassy just wants to see one

pls how quick can someone get the SL ? what are the processess? which office will the sponsor walks into and get the letter for applicant? how much is it?

SL is sponsorship letter also called declaration letter(Verpflichtungserklärung in German). You can use in place of the block account.

On Opportunity Card form, it's asking intended length of stay in Germany asking for dates from and to, since I don't know when the visa will be out which date can I put? @Hannania

why didn't you write it? what do you need it for now? Is it for opportunity card?

when you applied for admission in 2023 were you asked to show proof of Anabin if your university or degree was listed on Anabin?

Please I need your advice, I am really confused here.
I applied for student visa August 2023 but I do not have admission yet although I am expecting admission from a particular university which I don’t know if it would be positive or not.
I am qualified for the opportunity card,I don’t know if I should apply for the opportunity card now that’s it’s not competitive or I should wait for the admission.

in my own opinion i think we should upload and if they need us to do ZAB they will let us know before they send a link for appointment because some degree might be equivalent and still won't show or the degree name is different in Germany but its same because mine is Human kinetics, i saw Health Education on Anabin, in all universities in Nigeria Human Kinetics and Health Education is same, we do most courses together and since i saw Health Education is equivalent i know Human Kinetics will also be equivalent, i saw Bachelor of Science in Education on Anabin, that is my degree title the only thing missing is Human kinetics, i do not want to pay 208 euros and still wait for 3 months and later found out i was eligible hmmnn @Hannania

thanks so much, finally understood degree title on anabin ,I've seen my degree title so I think it will work for me even if i didn't see my course, i read it's not showing because nobody has asked for evaluation of the course in the past. 2) do you mean interviews while seeking jobs in Germany? 3) while writing cv do i need to include reference? i have a tech skill UI/UX Design, can i also include that in my CV even thou its not related to my BSC. 4) As a skilled applicant do i also need to submit proof of work experience? like payslips,e.t.c or they only ask of CV

ok pls answer my questions 1) if my university is recognized as H+ but couldn't find my course does that mean I'm qualify as skilled worker? NOTE- i gained master admission in the past with my bsc. does that mean it's recognized and equivalent? 2) as skilled worker applicant do i still need to submit CV showing my work experiences. 3) the job i would seek in Germany must it be the same in my CV? 4) if i want to apply as couples, do i only need to provide marriage certificate? do my partner need to apply as well or she will be a dependent? do i need to provide 2 block accounts for both? or can 1 person sponsor both of us? thanks awaiting your reply

pls what about the language proficiency? i read you need to provide german or english certificate, does that mean i need to write IELTS or is there a way i can escape that? do you know if they accept HND or only BSC

Nigerians have been getting visa approvals already. The moment you have your BA/SL and your degree is recognized, you can apply asap

For now, patience. The opportunity card visa has been updated to a first come first serve process. So those who have their university degrees verified and have BA/SL can submit their docs then get an appointment asap. It's gonna take a while for studies visa to have similar flow, that's because that category has more backlogs. So let's keep watching for now

okay i used the old website but i want to know if i do not want to do study visa and want to switch to opportunity card, do i have to cancel the study ? i am asking because i do not want them to see that i am applying for 2 application at once

Did you apply on February 11th through the consular service portal? If yes, you will recieve your appointment when everyone else who registered through the old appointment system has gotten theirs. If you registered through the old appointment system, you are on the waiting list, so you just wait to get your appointment.

i registered on february 11th that is on tuesday, in the email there is a link i can click to cancel the registraton, i think i shoud do that sice the consular potral website is what peeople use now, what do you think?

Starting from now, all new applications are done via the consular service portal, both cat A and B. In the online application, there is the category for Category A (Study – Specific qualifications) and Category B (Application (Language Course) or
Study Regular). That's why there isn't Category A or B on the appointment website anymore.

can anyone post the new website to apply for appointment? if there are still category A, what made you qualify?

Yes. My school gave me tuition scholarship and that placed me in Cat A
If they do give you a scholarship, you can just ask them to issue a separate letter confirming your scholarship.

I just want to ask if you discussed with expatrio on how they’ll be paying your tuition because I’m considering blocking my tuition and living expenses too…
