I am very happy to know that you are equally going to CNA. Have you secured your study visa? You can send a message for us to connect.

desertboom:
I've been following this thread for a few days now and just realized that @Viewoliver, @TabletMan, and I all applied to the same institution. I'd really appreciate the chance to connect with you both for a private discussion. Thanks

Hello,

Please what is the outcome of this application because I have the situation. Final Decision section is updated dated as 02/05/2025 but no decision is made. Also, my portal is updated with biometric validity letter (BVL) and there's an indication that they have started reviewing my eligibility.

Please what does this meanhuh

DTravel:
Hello All. I got email from IRCC this morning and checked the portal. It was updated with biometric validity letter. No other update. I got this letter with my denial in my last application. I just checked again now and the Final decision section was also updated but doesnt say the application status huh

Always check your spam box. Someone was waiting for PAL just like you for more than a month and she later found out it was in the spam.

Jonmayer:
Hello everyone, please I would like to find out of any recent admits to IBU (or any similar uni) have received their PAL and how they facilitated the process? We've been waiting for more than a month so far. Appreciate any advice, thanks.

Nothing has changed on my status. I don't know if they are working at the back end. I didn't go for biometric because I have valid biometric I did in 2021 during my first Canada Study Permit application. Secondly, I maybe exempted from medical in the sense that I have been living in the UK for more than 6 months. I think because of these, there's no update on my status.

Please someone should help me with a mobile contact of IRCC's United Kingdom (London) visa office. I would like to find out the status of my application, it has taken too long. My application is already 6 weeks ( submitted 4/03/2025) whereas the current processing time of the application submitted from UK is 4 weeks. Thank you for your swift response.

Is the error message for upload of application or document? Be specific and if possible attach a screenshot of the upload and error message so that people can help you. Finally, what kind of application, study permit or visitor's visa?

Chiinny:
Hello. I need help with the error message I get each time I try to upload my application. It tells me my form is invalid. Please can you help??

GCMS notes is requested. Thank you for the information, I didn't know that Gcms notes can be requested on a pending application.

Bobomaigida:
Yes you can.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Viewoliver: 9:15am On Mar 29, 2025
I don't understand what is going on with my application. I have been signing into my tracker and all I see are information on submission since 4th March and nothing else. Could it be my application is not yet attended to? I am anxious because UK processing time has been updated to 4 weeks and my application will be 4 weeks by next week. What do you think is the issue?

Bobomaigida:
If you are signed on the tracker, check if the SP numbers have been populated.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Viewoliver: 8:52pm On Mar 27, 2025
Is it possible to request for GCMS notes while an application is in progress?

Bobomaigida:
You can know the office processing your application by check the website to see where applications from your country of residence are processed, however this does not always happen as the application can be routed to any office or call IRCC or see it from your GCMS notes.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Viewoliver: 1:43pm On Mar 27, 2025
How can one identify the visa office (centre) that is processing his study permit application? I have an application of over 3 weeks in progress which I apply from UK. I would like to know the centre, if possible.

Bobomaigida:
No specific office, it can be assigned to any visa office, though lately many applications from Nigeria have been processed by RROC. Check on IRCC website to confirm which office processes SP applications from Nigeria and send webform to them.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Viewoliver: 11:26am On Mar 20, 2025
Is it actually true that one's chances of visa approval is high as long as you get PAL? Considering the cap on international students and issuance of PAL by the province, I would say the chances of one's visa approval is high if the study permit application is well packaged. Because with the PAL, it means the province has a space for you to come and study. Please I need the opinion of the gurus in the house on this. Thank you!

Zihno:
As long as you get PAL from the program and can apply for a visa, it won't matter

Is it a study permit because I equally apply from UK? If it is study permit, please I would like to ask you some questions. How long did
your application take!?

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Viewoliver: 1:29pm On Mar 04, 2025
Thank God I did this. At first, I only wrote my first name and later went back to add my middle where necessary.
DTravel:
I did this in my first application. IRCC updated the platform with my middle name based on my passport If you haven’t submitted, you should add middle name to the Given name sections. If you have submitted already, don’t worry IRCC will update it for you.

Can I merge the documents showing my immigration status in the UK with my passport?
Bobomaigida:
I will suggest you use the old portal.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Viewoliver: 10:00pm On Feb 21, 2025
Are you advising I should use the old portal?Though I am planning to submit before then. My problem now is size to accommodate all my documents

Bobomaigida:
Please note that the new portal is being deactivated, I think from March 1st.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Viewoliver: 1:50pm On Feb 21, 2025
Yes, I am almost done filling the questionnaire before I realized it is a new portal. I am thinking of deleting it and start with the old portal. I have some documents to upload because of my situation and I feel 2MB will not be enough for all my documents. Please advise. Thank you.

JMG12:
You are already using the new portal; any portal can be used. The difference is the interface and the size of document upload in each space.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Viewoliver: 8:49am On Feb 21, 2025
For study permit application outside of Canada, which one is recommended between the old and new portal?

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Viewoliver: 12:17pm On Feb 20, 2025
Thank you very much. I thought of this and I believe it is best thing to do considering my situation. I have a lot of payslips from my employer and all my monthly salary have reflected in my statement of account. For evidence of my capacity to pay the remaining fees for the 2nd year at least by May or June, just last month I got variation of contracts (voc) from my employer for increment of hourly rate and working hours. So there is an increase in my income as shown in the last payslip. Though I may not have a complete living expenses for the 2nd year b4 resumption becos of some other expenses I am going to do back home. I believe this will suffice.
Bobomaigida:
State the total funds needed for the programme including LE, they do not expect you to have all at once, but you have to show how you will get any difference between what you have at hand and what is required.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Viewoliver: 10:05am On Feb 20, 2025
Please I need your swift response on the correct way to fill in here.
Here is my situation: Going for a 2 years diploma program. I have paid the entire fees for the first year plus 950 CAD into the school year fees. I have complete living expenses for the 1st year in my account. No money for the second year fees and living expenses at the moment but I will pay off the tuition fees by latest June and save more money for 2nd year living expenses by the end of August. School resumption is September, 2. I am confused now because if I fill the total of tuition fees for 2 years as demanded and also total of 2 years for living expenses, then my "fund available" at the moment will be less. Please what is the best way to fill these places considering my situation? Thank you for your response.

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Viewoliver: 9:34am On Feb 20, 2025
I did apply the same way without paying a dime. I only got the automated response immediately I submitted the request and I thought I won't be attended to but surprising my GCMS notes came in 2 to 3 weeks time. Don't worry, your GCMS note will arrive soon.
Amky:
Hi, I also did the same as you. I have been waiting for a response for 2 weeks. Nothing yet, just the first email sent when I submitted the request. I am beginning to feel that I did not do it right. Have you seen any one who applied under the privacy act, paid nothing and got a response?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Viewoliver: 1:43pm On Feb 10, 2025
Thank you very much for your swift response. The program is Power Engineering Technology with about 6 weeks internship/work term.

Temporary residence for 2 years and 6 months without any criminal record.
It will be great if all those things are not needed.

technix:
Yes, he will be exempted except if he needs to do co-op in some fields such as healthcare.

No, police character is not needed for study permit except if he has a prior criminal record.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Viewoliver: 12:17pm On Feb 10, 2025
The application is for temporary residence (study permit). I was thinking if one reside in some countries like UK for more than 6 months, one will be exempted from medicals.

Does a UK residence require Police Character Certificate for study permit application?
technix:
It depends on which type of application.

If it's for temporary residence such as study permit, then another biometric is not needed. But he needs a new medical exam. If there is enough time, he can just wait till he is invited to do the medical exam (he doesn't have to do it upfront).
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Viewoliver: 11:39pm On Feb 09, 2025
Please I need clarity here.
Biometric and medical were done in Nigeria in 2021 but the study permit was refused. Currently not in Nigeria, does he need another biometric and medical to submit an application?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Viewoliver: 11:51pm On Feb 08, 2025
Congratulations!
Please when did you submit your request for PAL?
Ayolee123:
my pal was issued to me yesterday for September conestoga college
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Viewoliver: 8:19pm On Feb 08, 2025
Yes, I think so.
I have contacted the school and I was told that my request have been shared with the provincial government and once they generate my PAL, the school will forward it to me.
Kaykaychizzy:
Yes, I think they're trying to sort out May intakes first before September intake. But you might as well contact the school to enquire about yours because, I also called mine and the next day, the PAL was uploaded on my portal.
