A new tenancy rule has emerged following the recent trend of the marlians, a landlord in Rivers State has just issued that he doesn’t want to have any tenant who belongs to the fan club nor welcome such as a visitor to his compound.

In one of the lodges around University of Port Harcourt, the landlord while laying down the rules in his house, stated in clear terms that he doesn’t accommodate marlians.

A twitter user shared the snapshot of the ‘house rules’ where he wrote;

“My God i have seen it all.
In this Lodge Marlians are not allowed and the Landlord has the right to come and inspect your room at anytime to be sure you are keeping it clean and tidy.”

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved a sum of N10 billion to upgrade the Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu.

Buhari explained that the approval was in line with his administration’s goal of improving on infrastructures across the country.

He made the disclosure on his verified Twitter handle, on Thursday.

According to Buhari: ” I have approved the sum of 10 billion Naira for an intervention fund for the upgrade of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.

“I have the assurance of the Minister of Aviation that the work will be done speedily and to the highest standards.

“Although we have several things competing for our limited resources, we will continue to prioritize infrastructure investment in every part of the country.

The Football Association (FA) have handed a whooping £42,500 fine to Birmingham City after Jack Grealish was attacked by a fan during the derby clash with Aston Villa in March.

Grealish was punched by a fan who was later convicted to 14 weeks in jail and issued a 10-year ban on football games as Villa beat Birmingham on the way to promotion in the championship.

However, Birmingham had issued Grealish an apology and banned the perpetrator for life, with the FA now confirming the club’s punishment over the incident.

“An independent regulatory commission has fined Birmingham City £42,500 and warned them as to their future conduct,” said the FA’s statement.

“The club submitted it used all due diligence but was found to have failed to ensure that its spectator[s], and all persons purporting to be its supporters or followers, conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from improper and/or violent behavior and/or refrained from encroaching onto thepitch area during the EFL Championship fixture against Aston Villa on 10 March 2019.”

The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the socio-cultural organization Igbo, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chuks Ibegbu, said that the latest assault on Senator Ike Ekweremadu by some representatives of the indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB, will not influence the quest for an Igbo person to become President of Nigeria preceding the reign of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Some members of IPOB had last Saturday attacked Ekweremadu in Nuremberg, Germany, where he was to give a keynote address at the Second Igbo Annual Cultural Festival and Convention organised by Ndi-Igbo Germany

Ibegbu who spoke in a statement on Friday, recalled that similar attack on ex-President Goodluck Jonathan by some Ijaw militants in the past, saying that did not stop him (Jonathan) from being President, neither did the rejection of former President Olusegun Obasanjo by the Yorubas in 1999 stop him from becoming President then.

Enugu Youth Coalition for Good Governance, a advocacy group for promoting peace and good governance in Enugu State, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to direct the instant redeployment of the State Police Commissioner, Mr. Suleiman Balarabe, “for absence of ability and engagement to safeguard the state.”

The group, which frowned at the spate of crimes in the state since Balarabe assumed office as Enugu State Commissioner of Police, few weeks to the 2019 general election, said that the demand was borne out of their objective assessment of the performance of the police chief and the need to protect lives and property.


In a statement signed by its coordinator and secretary, Hon. Ikechukwu Ibeh and Engr. Jude Onyema, respectively, the advocacy group maintained that Enugu State has been peaceful and one of the safest states in Nigeria, expressing deep concern that “if something urgent is not done to rejig the security architecture of the state; our state’s enviable status will be jeopardized.”

They stated that the present cases of kidnapping, murder and other criminal activities being witnessed in the state were strange and a sign of failure on the part of the security agencies in the state, especially the police.

The group added that, “this recent ugly experience was never encountered in Enugu State in the past three years when the immediate past Commissioner of Police, Mr. Danmallam Mohammed was in the saddle”.

The youth group also accused leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State of being responsible for the redeployment of the former CP out of the state prior to the elections and asked them to apply the same process to ensure the removal of the present CP on security basis, “because the police commissioner has failed our people and the security architecture in our dear state seems to have collapsed”.

“While things seem to be going wrong, the police commissioner who takes instruction from the federal government has not done much to address the security situation in this state. Rather, the CP seems to have relaxed and allowed His Excellency, Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to do his work for him.

“Every day we see our governor in the media, moving from one forest to another, including security checkpoints, despite his exalted position, to identify hideouts of kidnappers and criminals and charge the security personnel to live up to their responsibilities, but the police chief in Enugu seems not to be bothered. He should go. We need a vibrant, experienced and committed Commissioner of Police in Enugu State,” the youth stated.

Commenting further on Gov. Ugwuanyi’s untiring efforts, the youth group stated that Enugu State is winning the war against crime, stressing that the new security strategies and measures introduced so far by Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration are already yielding positive results.

The advocacy group said they were pleased to note that “a abducted female was instantly saved and her car retrieved at the military checkpoint, freshly installed at our governor’s example along Four Corner-Ozalla-Udi highway, while the kidnappers tried to escape to their hideout with the victim.”

The youth noted out that the advancement was an indication that in the general interest of the0. state, the latest attempts of the governor to weed out criminal elements and improve safety in the state are not in the vein, stating that the CP must go.

Ten Nigerians suspected to be internet fraudsters, have been arrested in a house at Ashongman Estate, Accra, by the Kwabenya Police.

The suspects are identified as Diamond Andy (22), Benson Romeo (20), Randy Samuel (25), Kelvin Agho (23),Osas Igbo (21), David Okondu (23), Praise Onyekwena (22), Ohis David (25), Duru Wisdom (22) and Uyi Ighodaro (24).

Six internet modems, 54 different SIM cards, 9 laptops and 5 mobile phones were retrieved from them.

The suspects, according to DSP James Aseidu, District Commander of Kwabenya Police Station, who led the operation, had set up computers in a room.

The Greater Accra Regional Police Commander, DCOP George Alex Mensah, said the arrests were made on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 around 2pm.

The suspects are often not seen during the day and often move out at night everyday to have fun with friends. Police also discovered that the suspects do not work but lead lavish lifestyles in the area. This prompted the police to raid the said house to arrest the suspects.

A Youth Corp member who is yet to be identified has been arrested for allegedly defiling an eleven-year old JSS2 student.

The Corp member is serving in Delta, Warri area of Delta state, where the incident also occurred.

According to reports gathered, the Corp member was assigned to carry out home lessons for the young girl but he had other plans for the girl.


This resulted to an early pregnancy and also put the little girl in a bad position.

The girl, who is a student of The Nana College, Warri now goes through the pain of abuse and molestation.

In addition, the suspect has been arrested and is currently in custody at Division B police station in Warri.

Furthermore, a notification has also been sent to National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) National Secretariat as the suspect is yet to be charged to court.

Consequently, a Facebook user, Israel Joe shared the news on the platform, he wrote:
“A youth corp member defiled an eleven (11) year old JSS 2 student. Simple instruction to carry out home lessons have ended the little girl with pregnancy.

“The Nana College Warri student now goes through the pain of abuse and molestation.

“While he will be charge to court and a notification has been sent to NYSC national secretariat, we insist that parents must be careful with those they leave with their children. Trust no man.

“The suspect is right at the custody of B Division Warri and we are much impress with the non compromising investigations by the working DPO.

“Again I’m saying trust no man with your female child. Don’t suspect them, don’t trust them. Be street wise…”
