Investigation revealed that, two buildings located in Oporoma belonging to Donald Egberibien and Mr Omiehi aka 'Oma tein kpo tein' was used as hide-out for militants,hoodlums imported into the town by APC chieftains, Donald Egberibien and Gideon Ekewei with the sole aim of disrupting the distribution of election materials and inflicting fear on potential voters.

Acting on a tip off, Police men aided by concerned citizens raided the hideout of these thugs and uncovered over 35 pieces of AK 47's and two bazookas being loaded with ammunition by the militants, to wreck more havoc on unsuspecting residents, but fortunately, the security operatives swooped-in, over powering the militants leading to their arrest.
The JTF was called by the police to assist in the transfer of arrested APC hoodlums,but on getting to the location, the military men released the militants, ordering their doctor to commence treatment on Gideon Ekewei's younger brother, Foncha Ekewei and other injured militants.
At the time of filling-in this report, Several attempts to get clarification on the where abouts of Egberibien, Gideon Ekewei, Mr Omiehi aka 'Oma tein kpo tein and the arrested militants from the JTF command in bayelsa has been rebuffed.more photo below

180 EU-bound illegal immigrants were rescued off Al-Zawiya shores, Libyan Coast Guard said on Wednesday, December 9, hours after the motor of their boat broke down 31 miles off the shore. A marine source said the immigrants from different parts of Africa, including Nigeria, were in miserable conditions waiting for their fate before being rescued by the Coast Guard.
He added that the immigrants, including 19 women and children, were provided with first aid services and then taken to the Immigration Fight Agency in Al-Zawiya city.

Babatunde Omoyeni, a web designer who planned to travel on the 10th of December to spend his Christmas and New Year holidays in the United States of America, has been killed in Lagos over N50.
After obtaining all travel documents, he boarded a bus on Saturday and gave the conductor N500, but the conductor told him he didn’t have N450 change, because the fare was N50. When they got to the bus stop, Omoyeni demanded his change and a fight ensued.

An Alfa in the bus intervened and the fight ended. But the conductor, who was still upset by the incident followed the victim to his house unbeknownst to the victim.It was learnt that the conductor identified as Eletu, armed with a broken bottle, banged on the gate of the victim's house.
A source said:
“As the deceased opened the gate, Eletu stabbed him. Babatunde took to his heels, but the conductor chased him. Unfortunately, he fell down and the conductor stabbed him repeatedly,” he added.
The victim's younger sister, Blessing Omoyeni, said his brother would not have died if he was rescued on time.
She said he spent over one hour in a pool of his own blood before he was rushed to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi Araba.
She said:
“Nobody was ready to assist him to the hospital. A man had to throw himself in front of a commercial bus and asked the passengers to disembark, before he could get help. “He was rushed to LUTH, but they were turned back at the gate by a doctor who pronounced him dead on arrival around 12am.
“People started beating the conductor and almost killed him before he was rescued and taken to the Aguda Police Division.”
It was learnt that the victim’s corpse was deposited at the Isolo General Hospital mortuary.

His girlfriend, Temiloluwa Ogundayo, said Babatunde was preparing for their engagement and recounted the bizarre encounter she had with him after his death.
She said: “We have dated for over one year and he told me to meet my sister to ask for the requirement for our engagement. He said we would go there on Monday.
“On that Saturday he called me around 5pm to prepare food for him that he would soon be home. I had done everything and was waiting for him in the house till 11pm when I drifted off into sleep.
“Around 1am, he came in and slept beside me. He rubbed my head with his hand and I asked him if he had eaten his food, but he said I should not bother, that he was fine.
“I went back to sleep and it was around 6am that somebody called me and asked if I knew he was dead. I jumped up and looked around the bathroom and kitchen to know if he was there, but I couldn’t find him.”

The conductor said the victim attacked him first.
He said:
“I am also a driver and I had parked my bus at about 7pm when I saw a co-driver who offered to take me home. “It was along the way that he decided to pick passengers and there were eight of them in the bus.
“I collected money from seven of them, but he refused to pay and said he knew me on the street.
“It was at the bus stop that he broke a bottle and stabbed me in the forehead and cheek. I also got the same bottle, but unfortunately I stabbed him in the neck and he died.”

The case is still ongoing.

THE Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, yesterday said that the military has done excellently well by decimating the capacity of the Boko Haram terrorists, adding that Nigeria will no longer experience major attacks from Boko Haram insurgents from December 31st this year.
Answering questions from newsmen at a world-press conference in Abuja, the minister noted that the war was not a regular war but a guerrilla one, where you are fighting an enemy you don’t know.
Also on the bombing of places, Mohammed noted that even though the terrorists will be finally defeated by December ending, such occurrences can not be ruled out.
Citing examples of countries that have fought terrorism in the past such as Columbia, the minister said that the rebels once in awhile attack to tell the people that they are still existing
The minister solicited the support of civilians in the area of intelligence gathering to help the military curb the activities of the terrorists to barest minimum.
According to him, the military is largely winning the war against insurgents as a result of the success made so far in reclaiming all territories formerly under the control of Boko Haram.
His words “From what we saw on ground, the military have largely won the war and am confident that by December 31, the military would have achieved the objective of substantially decimating the capacity of the Boko Haram insurgents in the manner that they will be unable to henceforth launch the kind of spectacular attacks they used to launch.
“What the government sort to achieve is that by the end of this month, the Boko Haram will not be in the position to hold any territory and say we are operating from this territory.”
He further said that the clean up of the recovered territories have already commenced both by the Federal Government and the Borno State government.
“At Bama, from where Boko Haram once declared a caliphate, we were astounded by the level of destruction and devastation, not a single building was unaffected by the activities of the terrorists and no building is being occupied by its original resident, even the emir’s palace was not spared by the terrorists.
“The clean up of the town as well as Konduga and other villages have started. The government of Borno State has also kick-started the reconstruction efforts being spareheaded by the state Ministry of Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Resettlement,” he added.
The minister, however, said that what was missing in the war was the civilian component which will make Nigerians see the war on insurgents as a collective effort and support the military.
“What is missing in the war now is the civilian component, the need for all Nigerians to support our gallant men and women in uniform and the need for them to own the war. This is not the war for the military alone, it is a war for all Nigerians,” Mohammed explained.
The minister announced that the rebuilding of the first 1,000 homes destroyed in Borno State will start in January 2016.

PUNCH Metro gathered that the landlord, Fatai Alimi, reported the matter at the Isokoko Police Division when he learned of the incident.
He alleged that Monday had inflicted several injuries on the body of the toddler, adding that she had slammed Peter’s head against the wall and the offence of the toddler is that she always messed up the house with poo

“We rushed her to a private hospital and I had to borrow money for her to be admitted and treated because the hospital management said we must deposit some money. She spent three days at the hospital. When they could no longer handle it, they referred her to a general hospital,” he added.
Alimi, who said Peter was placed on oxygen, added that she was incapacitated by the torture.
However, Abuye, who claimed to be a confidante and friend of the suspect, said she (Monday) had called her to express her frustration with Peter’s constant defecation around the house.
She said:
“Grace (Monday) loves little children. Unfortunately, she had been married for seven years without any issue. She said I should release my child to her so she could train her till she got her own but I refused. I told her to go to her village and get her relative’s child.
“On the night preceding the incident, she called me that the girl had started defecating again. After beating her, Miracle (Peter) told her if she confessed the reason for her misbehaviour, some spiritual forces would punish her. Grace and her husband prayed till 3am after hearing that.
“Around 8am, she woke up and saw that Miracle was still sleeping. She woke her up to give her a bath. She was about leaving the house when she saw the girl had hit her head against the wall. Grace did not touch her.”
The Divisional Police Officer, Isokoko Police Division, Badmos Dolapo, said the toddler was in a very bad shape when she saw her and that it made her cry like a baby.
“In all my years in the police force, I have never cried. But seeing the damage that had been done to this child, I could not hold back tears; I wept like a baby. She had been brutalised. We will not leave any stone unturned in this case,” she said.
The Lagos State Office of the Public Defender took custody of the toddler.
The Public Relations Officer of the OPD, Adeoba Adeniji-Adele, who spoke for the Director of the agency, Mrs. Omotola Rotimi, said the victim could no longer walk due to what she went through in the hands of her aunt.
He said the agency was awaiting the doctor’s report on the case.

A man is reported to have died during marathon sex with a prostitute in Osogbo,Osun State.

Tribune online gathered both the managers and ladies engaging in commercial sex trade in the hotel has abandoned the brothel as police commenced investigation into the death of yet to be identified man. Source told Tribune online that the man might have died due to exhaustion after the marathon sex with the prostitute.

A shop owner who anonymity claimed to have witnessed the evacuation of the corpse.

She said:When i resumed work this morning i noticed that the brothel was empty.There was no sign of life there at all.The entrance door was closed but the door to the was slightly opened.Unknown to some of us,some of the occupant of the house confided in their friends about what happened before they ran away.Later around noon,the police came and evacuated the body of the man.We were told that the wife was among those that came with the police.

Confirming the incident,Osun State commissioner of police Mr Kola shodipo expressed the resolve of his command to unravel the mystery behind the man's death.

Obviously, a lot of people have judged him, condemned him even without knowing anything but he is my father and we know him. We know the kind of man that he is. He is jovial. He is a very lovely man. He puts people above him. We are talking about a man who made emergency rescue in the country like it is his mission. A man who will stop people in the middle of the street and tell them you don’t need to have your child in the front seat, move him to the back. A man who was supplying dialysis machine, putting health and concerns of Nigerians above all; a man who took it on himself to save lives in Nigeria, covering a lot of accidents. You now come and accuse such a man of being responsible for a terrorist attack. When we got to the prison and they told us to write his offence as terrorism.

Terrorist wielding and throwing explosives executed atleast 118 people inside a Paris concert hall at the Bataclan late Friday night.In the massacre that followed the attack 40 more people were killed.The president,Francois Hollande has ordered the entire Nations border to be closed and declared a state of emergency.According to recent reports the death toll has increased from 158 to 200.

A father rushing to get to his children home alone inside their Kettering townhouse while a fire raged on the first floor flipped his car Wednesday morning, Prince George's County Fire Department said.
The father received a call on his cell phone about the fire and immediately rushed home. On his way back, he rolled his vehicle in the intersection of Central Avenue and Enterprise Road.
The man freed himself from the vehicle that was upside-down in a ditch and ran a half-mile home to be reunited with his children, who had exited the home when they smelled smoke, police said.

Medics evaluated the man and transported him to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to officials.
Prince George's County Firefighters arrived at the town home in the 100 block of Old Enterprise Road around 10:45 a.m. and quickly extinguished the flames. A dog that was in the basement was also rescued.

A 35-year-old man, Yusuf Umaru, on Thursday appeared before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos state , for allegedly raping the great-grand daughter of his landlady.The accused, who resides at 14, Eketunde Street, in Anibaba Area of Ikorodu, a suburb of Lagos, is facing a charge of unlawful carnal knowledge of a 15-year-old girl.Umaru has, however, denied the charge.The Prosecutor, Mr Iyabode Johnson, had told the court that the accused committed the offence on September 15, in an empty room at the above-mentioned address.

A Dhaka Court on Thursday sentenced a 20-year-old girl to death for killing her parents two years ago, officials said.Judge Sayeed Ahmed handed down the verdict against Oishee Rahman for killing her police officer father Mahfuzur Rahman and mother Swapna Rahman in August 2013, prosecutor Mohammad Rahman said.The court also sentenced one of her friends to two years in prison for her role in the murder.
Investigators said Oishee Rahman served sedative-laced coffee to her parents before stabbing them in their home in Dhaka’s Central Malibagh Area.Police recovered the couple’s bodies two days later and their daughter surrendered at the police station the day after that.Defence lawyer Faruk Ahmed said his client would challenge the verdict in a higher court.

PRETTY LADY

A father of three, Christopher Duffoir, has committed suicide at his residence situated at Irhirhi, Oko, Benin City, Edo State. According to Tribune, Christopher's body was found by his wife, Eno, dangling from the ceiling fan in the house. When interrogated, Eno said her husband had started behaving strangely after he returned from a trip outside the state. She said he was taken to a psychiatric hospital for treatment but escaped from the hospital after staying for a few days.

Eno said on the day of the incident, she'd left him sleeping in the sitting room and when she returned, she saw his body dangling from the ceiling fan. His body has since been deposited at a mortuary in the state while investigations by the Edo state police command is ongoing.
