I have consistently maintained that South Africa did slightly better than Nigeria. It used it's mineral to build their economy. However they have no post-mineral plan - and now for a decade their economy has tanked if not stagnated.

Look at Thailand. About 70M people against South Africa 60M. Thailand is on it's way become a developed nation. South Africa is trapped in a middle class like Latin America countries.

The reason Thailand is not mineral dependant like South Africa

Face reality from 2010 to 2021 - South Africa economy has tanked - the next 10 yrs prognosis is the same.

Capetown has thesame level of infastructure with Bangkok. Heck maybe even better.
