It's been 2years of existence as a brand and 1year of practical farming as a family. With the EEE rule in mind, i.e, to build a multinational business, every brand needs products that are Essential for Everybody Everyday. The first move we made as a team was to take advantage of the 2015 ban placed on rice import by President Buhari to kick start our own local Nigerian rice mill in 2018 at Ijero, Ekiti State, Nigeria. The goal was to establish a local rice mill that could compete with international standards of polished rice production. Huge money was spent on feasibility study and acquisition of concrete information since cheap information gotten online weren't helpful at all. Honestly, as a team we made loss in millions.

Since then, Vokram Farmz as a brand prides herself in proper research and experiment before actual execution.

September 2018, we kick started a very small ugu farm at Ota, Ogun State, Nigeria with about N10k. The farm was based on experiment and market study. The size of the experiment farm was about 1/5th of a plot.

It took the ugu seeds about 9 days to germinate and an extra 6 weeks to mature for harvest. Within 6 months (October, 2018 to March, 2019) we made a total of about N50k profit from the experiment ugu farm plus, a total of 12k profit between April, 2019 to June, 2019. The reduction in profit was due to the fact that the ugu plants started bearing seeds thereby reducing the quantity of ugu leaves we could take to the market. Raining reason was also a major contribution to the fall in price hence, reduction in profit during that period.

In this month of September, 2019, the present value of the total seeds growing in our experiment farm is about N21k on the average.

That is a total of N83k profits generated from a N10k investment within 1year (over 500% Return on investment). This implies that with the necessary factors such as farm location, pest and weed control, logistics and market distance put into consideration, an investment of N500k could generate about N2.5m within a year.

The good news is that Vokram Farmz as a brand has gone beyond only ugu production. We now pride ourselves as a fast growing competition in melon, Groundnut and corn production and marketing here in Nigeria with eyes on export. Our experiment tomato farm is in progress. One can still plant egusi this September... Personally I planted a few yesterday and will also be planting more tomorrow. Moreover, crop production is gradually migrating into an era where crops can be planted in season and out of season (all year round). All a farmer needs to do is to understand the behaviors of a particular crop, coupled with basic maths in order to be able to achieve the product all year round.

At Vokram Farmz, we believe all crops, including melon, can be planted at any time of the year with little or no variation in the end result.

After harvest egusi requires much water for washing there after drying. Now, not all farm lands has water source. So during the dry season between December to march, some farmers quit d business. Hence the scarcity there by leading to inflation. But during d raining season most farms use rain water for washing. Hence the abundance n fall in price.

Secondly, egusi doesn't need much rain for maximum output. When the rain becomes too much, most egusi farms behave poorly hence inflation again.
