jboixxx: You're always welcome, boss. We de here together. Just think about the options given by Grand.Mufti and Gptechy, one will surely work out. Bro I need your help,I reopened the dispute to ask the seller for screen replacement, the seller offered to give me 40usd if I cancel the dispute, but the oled screen replacement cost atleast 90usd, I've asked him to increase it to atleast 60. My question now is that while checking AliExpress for the touch I see oled screen with frame and without frame, which would I buy if I'm looking to replace the screen, with or without frame? |

Gptech: Bros, use another phone to record it and upload on the dispute page. I was surprised you said you can manage it. Phone has been misbehaving since day one, some of those sellers are tricky and greedy its possible phone is refurbished and screen has been changed before, afterall you didn't remove the seal yourself. Open dispute, you'll likely win it, just wait it's the best option. yea I switch between one handed mode and full screen mode when I can't tap on what I want, yea since day one, first day i powered the phone, put on sim card,it went blank, white blank screen, had to reboot and then sim was not showing for almost 30mins. So there's that. But why I was convinced its a factory defected phone is because it actually came sealed, box was sealed |

GrandMufti: Shebi you see as this life be? You thought I was defending Xiaomi when indeed I was only being logical.
I mentioned the ghost touch twice, but no, I was paid goon striving hard to see that 'my business' continues to move.
Remember I told you "you'll fail"? Because you didn't have any case at all with the water as an excuse.
Well going forward, since you noticed the ghost touch before the water incident, I'll suggest the following
1. Replacing the device. Just get the video of the ghost touch and upload it. It will be sufficient to convince AliExpress. Contact noobody or protein0, I think one of them once helped someone return a device back to China.
2. Partial refund. This should be equivalent to the cost of the screen plus shipping .
3. Screen replacement. The seller should send you the replacement screen. You can then fix the screen and sell the phone of if you wish.
All the best Bro listen up, if I want to pursue this issue I'll definitely win,if nairaland could send videos I would have shown u the video evidence I gave them to convince them, they told me to send the phone back to them and will check it out and then refund me,I just feel like it's time wasting and money wasting plus I don't have a back up phone and I need a phone right now that's why I'm backing out. Tell me which reasonable, sensible Nigerian will tell the seller he spilled water on the phone and then expect a refund,of course I wouldn't and didn't tell them,I believe if I pursue the case I'd get a refund but I don't have that time bro,I'll get a new phone, when I have enough money to spare |

jboixxx: Sorry for this experience of yours. I'm happy this isn't your first Xiaomi device and this will prolly be your 1st experience of a probable factory defective device.
I believe why people are not that supportive on this case is the history of the incident and your choice of words like blaming it on the manufacturer. The thing is, you can't absorb yourself of the blame here! A splashed water can hit anywhere on the phone and it is different from a drop/touch of water!
With the ghost touch you're experiencing now, I'm convinced the whole ish is coming from the splashed water not a factory defect. I might be wrong though and you should see to the end of the dispute. I'm not sure AliExpress will wait till item is received before refunding you; worst case is partial refund if they buy your claim.
One thing is certain, if you made mention of the splashed water scenario while given them history of issue, your dispute won't see the light of the day!
As per seeing people here as always having contrary opinion to complaints regarding Xiaomi devices, it depends on how the complaints were tabled, choice of words used, individual interpretation and the likes. But you know your notion of them being always defensive is not true (at least on this).
I wish you all the best. Either realme or Redmi or Sammy, a device not tagged as water/splash resistant should not be taken close to water/liquids. This is where I think you erred, but that's strictly my opinion and don't take it personally. Thanks bro, this world would be better if there were more humans like you. I've just accepted that's it my fault that's why I'm ending the dispute and using the device like that. Hopefully my next device will be a flagship device. Thanks bro |

genius43: Started ke? Because of one isolated case. Uncle go and buy Realme this is what I'm talking about, ones someone just say something bad about xiaomi you guys just get triggered like they pay you. Bro I didn't say that because of my phone,I've been monitoring realme and xiaomi's specs lately, realme has been matching xiaomi's specs for lower price. Reason I still stick with xiaomi is because it's the brand I've been using since,I felt yes I can trust their products and because I prefer their miui to colour is. |

GrandMufti: Put yourself in the seller's shoes. If it was ghost touch, then you have a case..
I'm sure you did not tell the seller water touched it if I was the seller to be honest I'll take the phone and give the buyer a new one. Don't you know what's called warranty. Should a 1week old phone develop such fault. You're talking about this water stuff like as if the phone fell in a river or pool, come on little water splashing on phones is not enough to make the touch sensor bad, haba bros. |

If to say Na ghost touch, we go understand I've never used screen guard with any xiaomi phone I've used since I started using their products since 2016 and not just splash but my phones have fallen into water and nothing happens to them,so don't tell me small splash now in 2020 is now enough to spoil phones. It won't even spoil an infinix or Tecno phone . I don't understand,is it that you don't want anybody to give any negative review to any xiaomi phone so as to move business for you, so you try to blame everything on the user? Since when does water splash spoil smartphone in 2020. Well what do I know, maybe smartphones have changed in 2020. |
