Politics / Gani Adams Writes UN, AU, Others by Voy(m): 9:27pm On Jun 16, 2021 |
Aare Gani Adams … calls for immediate intervention The Aareonakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams has raised the alarm on the protracted killings across the southwest region of Nigeria. Adams, in a strong-worded letter addressed to the United Nations, African Union (AU), and the international communities, expressed deep worry over the worsening insecurity in the country. The letter, personally signed by him, was titled “Urgent Need to stop killings by Fulani Herdsmen in Yorubaland”/ It reads in parts: “This is to bring to your attention ‘a clear and present danger’ threatening the fragile union of our great country, Nigeria. “Senseless killings and massacre of Nigerians, almost on a daily basis, are tragically sliding toward an anarchical terminal point. “The inability or apathetical attitude of the Federal Government, pitiably as it is, is already compounding an already gory situation. “While you already know, through diplomatic sources and the media, what is going on in world’s most populous black nation, Nigeria, I want to urgently alert you that an agenda bordering on pogrom is gradually being executed in Yorubaland.” Adams stated that it is the duty of the global community to intervene and address the issue in an holistic manner, adding that statistics of prominent Yoruba people who have been murdered by these killer herdsmen and their collaborators continue to increase by the day. “Yorubaland have been put under serious pressure through payment of ransom – running into millions of naira – demanded by these conscienceless, unscrupulous and ruthless murderers. “Now, the agitation for them to leave our land has reached an alarming crescendo and the backing (that is the belief of our people) given to them by the Federal Government to continue to lay claim to the fact that ‘nobody can chase anybody away from any part of the country’, is not helping matters. “The peace, stability and tranquility of Yoruba people in this geographical space called Nigeria are being tested by blood-thirsty maniacs through invasion of our land. “In our space, these herdsmen are accused daily of committing rape, kidnap and murder. “The invasion of Igangan, a rural community in Ibarapaland, Oyo State on June 6, 2021, leading to the massacre of scores of residents by these same band of roving killers, who prefer to stay in the forest because of their murderous intent, seems to be the last straw.” The Yoruba generalisimo urged the global community to urgently intervene in the situation, saying the earlier they intervene, the better. He warned that any crisis in Nigeria may have a negative effect on the rest of the world. “It may happen soon because all the security establishments are already showing signs of virtual ineffectiveness. “Your Excellencies, if something urgent is not done, these series of attacks will soon have a negative effect on Western countries’ investments in Nigeria, he said. The letter has also been forwarded to countries that include, British Foreign Secretary, European Union (EU) member states, and Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS),Embassies, including Germany, Canadian, Italian, Japan Holland, Sweden, South African, Ghanaian, Togo and Benin Republic Embassy, among others. 1 Share

This man is a popular beggar in Shoprite Enugu, many knows him as just a begger but he is certainly richer than most of you giving him money From a verified report, he owns five(5) mini buses and some keke napep which he uses for commercial purposes. The reason why he can’t quit begging even after acquiring all these is yet unknown to many. What do you think? 1 Like

Education / Nigerian Mum Pays N1.58k School Fees She Owed In 1969, Principal Writes Letter by Voy(m): 8:05am On Jun 01, 2021 |
- A Nigerian mother, Grace Egbinola, paid the school fees she was owing in 1969 which was the sum of N1 and 58 kobo - Sharing the letter with Legit.ng, her daughter, Toyin Egbinola, said that her mother taught them the value of honesty - The woman kept the receipt of her debt for decades before she finally paid it off in 2020 A Nigerian woman, Grace Egbinola, has demonstrated a great virtue as she fulfilled a promise she made many decades ago. In a message sent to Legit.ng by Grace's daughter, Toyin Egbinola, it was revealed that the 73-year-old woman finished from St Loius Secondary school on December 9, 1969. Ever since she got the receipt of her debt in 1975, the woman held onto it with the strong vow that she would repay it someday. On Monday, December 14, 2020, the woman paid the debt which was the sum of N1.58k. The woman’s child said she is proud that her mum never cheated the system. A good name is better than gold Though the woman is not rich, the child stated that she taught her children the value of honesty. A part of Grace's principal's letter to her reads: “You are truly a Saint Louis trained person to be keeping a paper that was issued since 1975 and sent your son up to clear a debt that is as little as N1.58k in the year 2020 gives me hope that there are good people in this country who have not become rotting with greed.” Toyin also said that her mum would really love it if she could reconnect with some of her old secondary school classmates. "All over the place people have been urging me to go for President in 2023, but i say to them, the vehicle called Nigeria has no brain box but people are taking of changing driver only. What can a driver of a knocked engine or car with faulty or no brain box do? Absolutely nothing until the vehicle goes for complete overhaul. Those clamouring for restructuring are saying fix the car first then look for a driver" - Culled from THISDAY Newspaper, 27/5/21 3 Likes

Politics / I Weep For The South! Ahmed Sanni Yerima ( Former Governor, Zamfara State) by Voy(m): 6:19am On May 19, 2021 |
You must understand something, all Southern politicians are driven by untold degree of selfishness. While in office, they are all aspiring for the next office. The strategy to get on the ladder is to sacrifice their people, their towns and villages and their region. They do everything possible to please the Hausa Fulani Northerners in order to be favoured. We can go back a little to pull out some examples. (1). Governor Peter Odili wanted to run for presidency, he squandered River State money on Northern Emirs and Northern Opinion leaders. At the end, he failed. (2). General Olusegun Obasanjo held up all development programmes in the South and promoted infrastructure development in the North in order to get the 3rd term agenda through. At the end, he failed. (3). James Ibori wanted to be a Vice President to President Yar’dua, in place of Jonathan. Delta State Liaison office in Abuja, became an ATM for all the Northern PDP members. At the end, not only did he fail, he was sent to prison. (4). Jonathan Goodluck postponed South South development to his anticipated second tenure and put in all resources to the rehabilitation of the Almajiris, Emirs Palace from Sokoto to Maiduguri. Built Abuja-Kaduna Rail line when Lagos-Ibadan Expressway was impassable, East-West Road was a mere historical concept; built and completed Federal Universities in Katsina, Jigawa, etc but did foundation ground breaking for the the Federal University in Bayelsa. At the end, he was sent out of the Villa by the Northern INEC Chairman he appointed. (5). Under Jonathan, the then Minister for Aviation, Stella Odua, funded in full, the rehabilitation and upgrading of the Kano, Sokoto, Katsina Airports but Port Harcourt Airport operated from a Tarpaulin, Enugu completely short down. At the end, AMCON took over all her assets and currently facing EFCC. (6). Our brother Ibe Kachukwu was the Chairman of NNPC BOT and Petroleum Minister at the same time. He promoted the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano Gas Pipeline. He rehabilitated the Petroleum institute in Kaduna when the Petroleum Institute in Warri was not captured in the budget. He was humiliated out of office. (7). Obono Obla, SAN was appointed the Chairman of Government Asset Recovery Committee. His target was only all past office holders from the South South and South East. At the end, he was framed and arrested. ( 8 ). The immediate past Managing Director of NDDC and Akwa Ibom State APC Governorship candidate, Nsima Ekere gave out emergency jobs (contracts) only to Southern Contractors fronting for Northerners. NDDC became an ATM for “the Villa Boys”. Where is he now? (9). Rotimi Amaechi is lobbying to be the next Vice President, in 2023. His first action is to sell the South and became a saboteur. No wonder why as a Transport Minister, he found it very necessary to build the Lagos-Ibadan- Abuja-Kaduna-Kano-Katsina Rail line, Calabar-Maiduguri Rail line, Transport University in Katsina. The Great Eastern Railway line From Port Harcourt via Aba, Onitsha to Enugu to Okene in his books, is not feasible. The minister is completing the biggest rail and road line into Niger Republic and towards the border of Niger Republic and other countries while the roads in the south are impassable. What Niger Republic has benefited in this Administration is bigger that all that South-South and South-East combined. Who are the Managing Directors of Nigerian Ports Authority and NIMASA? (10). The current Petroleum Minister, Chief Timipre Sylva, has initiated the construction of the Ajaokuta-Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Gas Pipeline to facilitate the building of a Gas Power Station in Abuja and Kaduna and “to turn Kano into an Industrial Head Quarters”. The man is from Bayelsa State where there is over 90% unemployment and no electricity from National Grid. (11). Ahmed Tinubu, for his desire to rule Nigeria practically sold the South and with his bullion vans rigged Buhari to power. History will tell of him soon like others. (12). The number of appointments of people from Niger Republic in Buhari Administration is bigger than all south combined and all the National Assembly members are aware but keep quiet because of future ambition and to avoid probe. The story is long! https://www./2938849359684324/permalink/3119076014994990/ 10 Likes 3 Shares

Politics / DSS To Arrest Those Calling For Biafra, Oduduwa Republic by Voy(m): 7:38am On May 05, 2021 |
Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria’s secret service, has warned “misguided elements” (Biafra and ) who are threatening Nigeria’s unity and peaceful co-existence to desist from doing so. This online news platform understands that the DSS in the statement issued by its spokesman, Peter Afunanya, warned that henceforth, the service will no longer tolerate those whose aim is to “throw the country into anarchy.” In the statement, the DSS claimed that “those in the forefront” of the call for the disintegration of Nigeria “are respectable individuals who should be patriotic and not allow their personal ambitions to ruin the nation.” DSS warns Biafra, Oduduwa agitators The statement said: “While the Service reaffirms its unambiguous support to an indivisible, indissoluble and united Nigerian State in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, it will no longer tolerate deliberate machinations by subversive and hostile groups whose agenda is to throw the country into anarchy so as to serve the interests of their sponsors. “Consequently, the Servcie is assiduously working with other security and law enforcement agencies to ensure the maintenance of peace and internal security of the country.” DSS claimed in the statement claimed that among those threatening the federal government and Nigeria’s unity are “some religious and past political leaders who have either called for a forceful change of government or mass action against it.” The statement continued: “It has been established that the main objective for these is to cause a disintegration of the country,” he added. “It is unfortunate that those in the forefront of this are respectable individuals who should be patriotic and not allow their personal ambitions to ruin the nation. The Service has also noted their desperation and penchant to collaborate with external forces and influences against Nigeria. “They are reminded that even though democracy offers free speech, it does not give room to reckless pronouncements capable of undermining security. It is instructive to note that the ballot box remains the vehicle of change in a democracy. “In this regard, self-centred individuals and groups are warned to stop engaging in acts inimical to the peace and sovereignty of this nation. In the same manner, influential personalities should be sensitive to emerging situations and guard against divisive and inciting utterances that may cause a breakdown of law and order.” Meanwhile, NewsOne Nigeria reports that the statement by the DSS, is coming at a time some Nigerians are calling for Nigeria’s breakup from both the proponents of a Biafran government and other aggrieved citizens Source: https://newsoneng.com/2021/05/02/breaking-dss-to-arrest-those-calling-for-biafra-oduduwa-republic/?fbclid=IwAR2iDkvbDo_5QzXzjE_Kjk34uTYA_XNOtPDV_e1NALZs_xiox82OiPhCwII

Politics / Oduduwa Himself Won’t Want Nigeria To Split – NANS Kicks Against Yoruba Nation by Voy(m): 7:30am On May 05, 2021 |
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has disagreed with those agitating for Yoruba nation, saying Oduduwa himself would not want Nigeria to break apart. The Chairman of NANS in Ogun State, Comrade Damilola Simeon, disclosed this in an exclusive interview with DAILY POST on Tuesday. Simeon, who said those clamouring for the secession of Yorubas from the Nigerian nation might have their genuine reasons, however, affirmed that “the stance of NANS can never be for the disunity of our dear nation, because the organisation which I represent is one that has to do with the whole Nigeria.” According to him, “NANS does not do with one tribe or the other. Whether you’re Yoruba, Hausa or Igbo, I believe we are all Nigerians. Fulanis are all Nigerians.” The students leader maintained that his greatest interest as the NANS JCC Chairman of Ogun State, “is to propagate the unity of Nigeria and to emancipate our people the more.” He did not mince words as he stated emphatically that, “I will never be party to secession and I will never subscribe to the idea of Nigeria being disunited, neither will I support tribes going their separate ways.” He spoke further that, “Instead of thinking of secession, I will advise that everyone should go back to the drawing tables; let’s come together and look at ways of restructuring this nation. Secession is not the way to go, restructuring is what we need. “If our leaders can be candid enough as we all go back to the drawing board and think of ways of restructuring this nation, I think most of the problems we are having in this nation will become a thing of the past. “Secession would never come in an easy way, it might lead to tribal or civil war. At the end of the day, lives, property and a lot of things will be lost; a lot of havoc and hazard will happen to the nation and that would draw us back. “I am not subscribing to the advent of Yoruba nation. Though I am a Yoruba boy and an offspring of Oduduwa, but I know Oduduwa himself would not want Nigeria to split; because all that it will bring is problems and bloodshed. It won’t come easy. So, I implore our leaders across all geopolitical zones to all try and be candid with us in this nation. “Some people are somewhere enjoying the ‘dismay’ we are suffering in this country. As things are falling apart, some people are cashing out, and we must put them to shame. “I want to beg all Nigerians, let’s start thinking of restructuring instead of secession,” the Ogun NANS leader pleaded.
