Who ever told you those working in corporate organisation don't have businesses to their names? Who told you Taiwo as a business man is better and more successful than Kehinde working in a corporate organisation? The past HOD of Mechanical Engineering at Covenant University, Professor Akin Loto, graduated with a 3rd class... he proudly shared his experience. Just one of numerous examples .

go and ask the so called past HOD of mechanical engineering in covenant University to tell you where first class of history, CRK, LITERATURE that he knows and graduated the same time with him. He should tell you where they're. Also ask him how he became the HOD. He did PGD before his MS. Even top federal universities in Nigeria won't accept 2.2 for MS. Show me a vacancy that third class was the minimum requirement and i will tell you that you will succeed Tinubu as the next president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Only if you know the opportunities before first class graduates. No tech skills a third class in Engineering can learn or aquire that a first class in history can't learn or aquire. No course is simple and no course is too difficult. I know first class graduates that came from extremely poor home that studied those little little courses and they have all moved to US, Canada, UK, Australia courtsey of their outstanding degree. Without that first class they will still be in Nigeria battling with Tinubu government.

Let's agree to disagree. A third class in Engineering or any STEM field trumps 1st class in many courses that are not even as limited as Yoruba. There will be few exceptions just as we have primary school certs or even illiterates who have achieved more than graduates.

You can proceed very well in life without scholarship and you can get entry level jobs with a third class degree. For higher degrees, reach out to individual colleges and they will ask for evaluation of your scores then advise you accordingly on extra credits needed at undergraduate level to proceed or place you on a graduate certificate course prior to a masters level program. Also, a graduate of engineering even with a pass is prepared for tons of tech certification opportunities to get him started, and many of them have successfully done this. A graduate with lower class of degree simply means he passed his university courses with low grades or mostly after 2nd attempt with carry overs, it does not change the fact that he has completed university education in Engineering or any course

third class degree in engineering can't even get you admission in Nigeria for MS. You will have to do PGD just like HND holders before proceeding to do MS. Third class degree can't get you any graduate trainee or entry level jobs. You can point at any job vacancy that the minimum requirements was third class. Third class can't get you admission in US, Canada, UK, Australia for MS program.

A first class in even HAUSA language as a course can land you full funding MS or PhD offer in US, Canada, UK, Australia and other developed countries. It can get you automatic employment as a Graduate teaching assistant in your school. It can get you graduate trainee and entry level jobs. It can open lots of doors. I will forever accept first class in any course than a third class in engineering or any good course to you. God forbid

I came here to rant because honestly I am fed up. I have no friend I can share this with and I believe I am in the right place and in midst of mature people. I have a business I'm managing and since I started this business, I placed my father on 20k salary but most month, I give him double or more. There are times I give 200k if the needs demands.

I care for myself from this business as I don't disturb my husband for money because he take care of responsibilities like feeding, our 3 kids school fees and house rent. But I do buy clothes and shoes for the kids without asking him kobo.

It's been 4 yrs I have started this business (No one set up the business for me, I hustled on my own to start and God has been faithful) and i am so ashamed that the only savings I have currently is 1million. That is not the issue

My father told me he want to sell one of his land and start business which was a very welcome idea as I will have a relief . Could you believe my father sold this land and use the money to renovate his house. It is not that the house is in bad condition or the roof is leaking o, he just spent the money on irrelevant thing. Now the money has finished and he's now always asking me for money even when I explain to him that I am not making much profit again because of Nigeria economy.

The saddest thing is he will not ask my brothers, instead he will be protecting them by saying they have family to take care of

I know my both parents never liked me or see anything good in me as they only remember me when they need financial help but I don't have that wicked heart to turn my back on them. I am just fed of life

don't be surprised your brothers are also part of it. Your brothers are part of the brain behind the money your father is demanding from you every now and then. Except your brothers are handicapped or still a teenager then they don't have to take care of their father but if they're grown and not mentally unstable then they have a responsibility to take care of their father. As little as 20k you sent to him is enough if your brothers also place him on monthly allowance like you. Better wise up and let them know that you're done with their manipulation.
