I have used this Accord 2001 (4plugs) for 20months and have never changed the gear oil because:

1) The 1st mech I used cheated me saying he did a gear oil change while he didn't (maybe it was a good thing)

2) I have been advised by 2 different mechs not to change the oil as the gear may pack up after (ie it may cease working)

However, my gear is in a management phase whereby I stay on the mainland but when I drive to Lekki and back (or other such long distance) the gear seems stressed becos the D4 may flash or the "R" may react slowly.

Another advice is to change the oil 1st thing in the morning when the gear is cold, using mobil gear oil.

Please what do u guys think? I don't want to be forced to change gear prematurely or out of negligence of its proper maintenance.

Thx in advance..

40 - 45k as posted earlier by someone on this thread for gear 2001 Accord.

I use the same model (4 plugs) and my gear no act right. The D4 was blinking then I changed the gear switch (sensor) and it's beta but not up to 90% cos sometimes it's still blinks and I have to turn off the engine and restart.

On the dashboard of my Accord 02 the "D4" sign started blinking a few days ago and I have to move with D1 or D2..

Hoping it's the sensors or change of gear oil cos I never ready buy gear.

Please pals, I drive a 2001 accord and I have the following issues.
1. The revolution of the engine does not pass 4000r/min. When I step on the throttle, the engine speed rises but once the tachometer hits 4000r/min, the engine starts jerking and will not go higher. This is noticed both when the car is stationary and when mobile and affects me when speeding off. It drives smoothly if I don't push the engine. I have changed my spark plugs, changed fuel pump, cleaned air filter, all to no avail. Please help.

2. I noticed that if I turn my steering to extreme angle, my engine goes down and comes up again when I release it a little. Is this normal?
Please help.

My brother.. with regard to your car not exceeding 4000rpm the issue may just be the timing belt..

Have u had it replaced (or removed and re installed before)?
It may also be the sensor for the timing belt.. I suspect cos I suffered the same fate when me timing belt cut and I fitted another.

While the issue was the sensor, it could also be the timing belt wasn't properly placed on the teeth.

Hope the info is useful.

Good morning Folks..

Ok so I changed my steering rack and the next day timing belt cut for my Accord '02. I changed it and new problems have emerged -

My horn doesn't work (Rewire says it's the airbag)

My car doesn't start instantly as before (instead of 1 sec, it kicks for 2 secs) and then when it wants to change gear from 1 - 2 or 2 - 3 it's does a crazy multiple back and forth jerk (which u can feel physically and see on the dashboard rpm) it's like a multiple revving up and down. This happens when I move wit some speed but if I'm cruising off its doesn't have such spasms.

Suggestions have been made that it's some sensor but I'm yet to see a competent Honda rewire to give me his opinion.

I wish to solve the horn issue asap as it causes me security risk at night when I go home. Thanks house..

Nice thread..

I'm having a problem with my power steering. It started with a leakage from the hose, which I changed. Then I noticed it was still leaking from some lower hose underneath the a/c compressor, so I had to top the fluid every 4 days on average.

However, today, the leakage has extended to the area of the steering rack and I can't drive the car cos of this.

My car is an Accord 02 LX (Baby boy)

The mech says I have to change the whole rack but it seems expensive.. the steering is still smooth when I top the fluid, only that it leaks out after a 10min drive. I feel it's some rubber or seal that is broken and can be fixed along with changing the hose..

Please house, can I get some advice with regards to if the leakage in the steering rack can be fixed and also the price of another.

I plan to personally go to oyingbo 2mr morning to solve the problem..
Business / Re: Starting Shawarma Business: Help Please by Vuitton(m): 4:36pm On Nov 05, 2012
@ DannyWest I am actually doing a research on shawarma start up. I already have a bar business on moor road, Yaba, Lagos and want to add to the food options I currently have (bbq and chips)

Question is how does on get the vertical machine or the toaster and how much would either cost (local or imported)

Any useful info would be appreciated

whatever you do, dont use company statement of account, cos it just might backfire! use your personal statement. i guess dats the major clause. also, if you want ur application processed fastest, get a hotel booking to avoid all the hassles of confirming the status of ur inlaw. best of luck
