Belletti at the LB.Malouda is another option. but I prefer Belletti as a natural fullback but his form is another thing to consider 'cos he is just coming back after a month out. |
Chelsea all d way, I hope Belleti can do the job 'cos Maicon is a threat. we need away goals, it is very important. |

Obafemi Martins, Going into the Nations Cup with injury, what does it mean to you? It meant a lot because I wanted to play for my country, I wanted Nigeria to win and more so, I don’t want Nigerians to think that I don’t want to play for my country, that is why I took the pain to go to Durban, in South Africa. When I got there and trained for two days, I discovered that I could not cope. I actually wanted to opt out of the Nations Cup but before I took the decision, I went to the doctors and the coaches and told them how I was feeling and my plans to opt out but they said that I have to wait to help Nigeria. After I was told that, I went back and said okay, I would wait but will not play more than five or ten minutes in any match which was a sign of commitment. Yes, how would you describe the commitment of this present team compared to the era of 1994 Eagles? When you look at that team, you have the likes of Oliseh and other big players who can face the NFF face to face and they respect them. When they promised them winning bonus, they would be given and in return, the players commitment would be seen or felt but in our case, what they keep telling us is that there is no money to do this or that. They will tell us that Glo or Guinness has not paid, hence nothing can be done and when this happens, you see players talking and the next thing you hear is that the players are not committed. When you go to camp, there are lots of pressure here and there and for the team to win when certain things that ought to be done are left undone at the end of the day, you journalists will tell Nigerians that we are not committed. The pressure to win is always too much on us. Aside playing for Nigeria, we also have to be very careful so that we will not be injured, so Nigerians have to understand so that things will go well. Football is money and this is our opportunity to make whatever we can make in the game. When you go to Europe and talk about football, the next thing you hear is money, so we have to do the right thing. How far do you think Nigeria can go at the World Cup? We have to change our approach if Nigeria must do well at the World Cup. Each time we go to camp, we always do meeting which in a way distract attention. We need to talk less and focus on what we want to achieve. After the Nations Cup, the next thing was meeting, we need less of this. They said we should go and win the World Cup which is not possible until the right things are done. If things are okay up there, we the players will also be willing to do our best. Early preparation and commitment from every one is very important for the World Cup. http://www.completesportsnigeria.com/2010/02/out-of-nations-cup-martins-i-almost-opted-super-eagles-striker-obafemi-martins-reflects-on-the-just-concluded-2010-nations-cup-in-angola-and-reveals-how-nigeria-can-do-well-at-the-next-fifa-world-cu/ we still ave a long way to go ![]() if all di si true why blaming players? how can a coach and team doctor force an injured player to stay on while dr is other options? ![]() |
No shakin! we will be back to our winning way comes sunday, I like dis frm Giles Smith Positive number five and a half: plus it's Arsenal on Sunday, and they can't stand the Drog. Just the mention of his name makes them go all wobbly and causes the evocative 'thwap' of plastic seats being vacated to ring out spontaneously across the Emirates. |
up blues |
he can do it!
hisss
