Jobs/Vacancies / Re: My Funny Job Hunting Experience by wallmosh: 9:41pm On Nov 25, 2015
Bennyzino:
So I was invited for an IT/Software support position in a company domiciled in Maryland. I was low on cash but embarked with my last 500 naira. I spent 400 naira to get to the venue and was putting my faith in Jah for journey mercies back home.

I was dismayed when an occupant told me that the company has relocated to Yaba. Then I knew I was in deep soup.
I spent my last 100 naira to get to the new venue.

Long story short, after the interview, the Hr asked me if I had any question for him I said 'yes pls can you find me 500 naira , I don't have transport back home...spent all my cash locating this place'

omo, the hr gave me the money and I said bye bye .

Do you know that your story has gone beyond nairaland? it's been truncated through whwtsapp groups.

Consulting is diverse. It opens you to Research and the likes especially if you are consulting for the FSI (Financial Service Industries)..

Audit is just Audit.. Nothing more to add. You don't do any research, just take the books and follow the laid down principles..

Also, aside the experience in consulting to fit for a Corporate Finance role, starting CFA would really be an added advantage.
.

Thanks for your golden piece. For one willing to start with CFA, is he going to include the intention in his cv prior to writing exam or he should delay till he is able to excel in the Level 1 exam. I will be glad for your take on this

Drop your CV everywhere you find off and online. What I used to do was search LinkedIn for profiles of people in the field, then know the company they and similar people work for, then visit their sites to upload my CV. Although I didn't get a job from that, I think it's a good complement of your other job search activities.

Thanks.

For more than a year now,i have been looking fora job.I have attended some job interviews and none has offered me job.Its normally 'We will get back to you'....,bla bla, etc.I dont know where i m getting things wrong.I am depressed and keep on asking myself, where is the problem coming from, does it mean i dont answer interview questions well?,is it that i dont know how to attend interview or how to talk before interviewers?.Considering the ones i have been attending and no result, recently i noticed that i dont have confidence anymore anytime i am called for interview. The last two i attended last month, when i got the invitation for the interview, within my mind i wasnt even happy, i see it as usual, wont it go the way other ones have been going(dont say i am not optimistic). When i faced the panel of interviewers i noticed that i am not confidence anymore,my body was slightly shaking. Please advise on how i can build back confidence and how best to attend interview or what you think is the issue.I am getting fed up of the whole situation.
