Good day,
Please I want to make enquiry about flight reservation for schengen visa. I am concerned that if I should pay for my flight reservation and at the end I couldn't get the visa the loss will be much.
Can I attend the interview without the reservation or please any way around that?
It's advisable not to pay for flight until the outcome of your visa application. The booking reservation you submitted for your Schengen visa application is only required to testify to your commitment of returning within the granted 90 days
TravelRe: Nigerians living in Germany please I need your advice by wallmosh: 3:06pm On Nov 24, 2024
pansophist:
Your spouse should apply for a language school, or a degree program in portugal. Then after she has lived there for at least four months, impregnate her.

So when she give birth, she must have lived in portugal for at least one year.

Portugal is the only European country that gives citizenship by birth to children if at least one of their parents are resident in portugal for at least a year when the baby is born.

So with a Portuguese child, you and your wife have the right to live in any country in the EU permanently under directive 2004/ec/58.

Thank me later
Interesting! Thanks for the golden piece

Can you work or study in Portugal with a German Visa?

Brother God bless you you too Good Germany are racist very unfriendly I advise chose France or Portugal it's no no expect you dy play football Italy is a racist country
hammed71:
Bro find a way to get a student or work visa to Poland, Spain, Portugal, Italy or France, Germany is not an immigration friendly country especially for asylum seekers, they just deported some nigerians on a charter flight back to naija last week.
pansophist:
"Directive 2001/55/EC" (Link to the act below) is the legal basis of your residence in Germany as someone needing temporary protection.

https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=CELEX:32001L0055

As far as I can understand from the act, there is no way you can retain your residence in Germany continuously, as it was not intended for that.

Like someone adviced, you'll either have to go a neutral country where you have a right of residence, so in your case, Nigeria, or Ukraine (assuming the war stops) and apply to come back to Germany,

Or if you really wants to stay back in Europe without going to Nigeria, then apply for a residence permit (maybe on the basis of studies) to another EU country, so your residence in the new country would not be temporary in nature, like Germany.

You can apply for a visa/residence permit from your country of legal residence, which for you, it's Germany. So get a study place in maybe Poland, then go study there. That's how you can stay back in the EU without going back to Nigeria.

But it might be too late now, because if your residence in Germany have been terminated and undergoing appeal, it will be difficult to proof to the Polish embassy that you're still a legal resident.

If you also hold Ukrainian citizenship, or married to a Ukrainian, then you could stay longer, but since Nigeria is not at war, the immigration office are within the scope of the law, to terminate your residence, for you to go back home.

I'll advice you don't waste money on lawyers. Lawyers knows you won't get it, they will just collect your case, give you false hope and eat your money.

You'll also earn yourself a shadow ban, meaning, they won't tell you, but getting a visa would be very difficult for you in the future.

Only use a lawyer to buy time (eg to save up, finish up a course, etc), since by law, you can remain in the country when your case is undergoing an administrative redress.
Thank you all for the contributions.

I would like to seek your advice also and necessary steps to legally remain in Europe. I currently hold a working visa on 9 months engagement in Paderborn which is extendable upon performance evaluation and luckily my spouse who's yet to get an offer but granted visa.

What's the channels for her to use in seeking for job within or outside Paderborn? Also, what your advice as a backup in case the extension becomes challenging?

I read a comment here that it is possible to travel alongside your spouse/family if you got the pre-approval documents for you and your spouse/family. Not sure if it was for a specific visa type, but give it a shot. Better still, check through the comments on this thread if someone has mentioned this case already.
Thanks to you and everyone for the shared and clarified details.

For prospective applicants, please ensures you make photocopies of your documents and arranged as listed on the checklist. Make colored copies of your passport detail pages and ensure you enough cash in your ATM card (based on my category, I paid with the card which I don't know if it's applicable across all categories) so avoid the pressure of wanting you to get the cash from POS agent as the charges are extorting (also for the copies)

Additionally، try and avoid that "man" wahala as he's unreasonable and difficult individual.

Lastly, be hopeful and prayerful. Long live nairalanders

The lagos embassy was pretty cool. My appointment was for 9am but I got ther 6:50 and was attended to. Make sure you have all your original documents as they will be checked by Mr Paulinus. Also dont carry cash, carry your card amd make sure the card is working because i was actually shouted at for bringing cash. Then make sure all your documents are signed.
After we got past all these, the interview was actually cool and short. Make sure you answer all the questions concisely. Dont say too much so that you dont get into trouble. Also dont say you can speak german if you cant because you will be tested on that. And make sure you are able to defend the money in your blocked account
Thanks for this Bro. Can you with detail about the signed documents?

I would be glad for your inputs. If one is applying is for research stay visa and needs to go with his/her spouse (as dependent), is the requirement(s) same as the family reunion but this time they are applying at the same time?

The waiting period to get an appointment date is around 4 weeks but I got mine the next day after I applied. You should have gotten yours by now
You're highly appreciated. I got the mail of the schedule on Friday.

PhD should be category A. Your spouse have to provide a blocked account too. She can join as dependent or with a family reunion visa. I assume your PhD is a paid position on some certain percentage? If not, then blocked account applies to you too.
harkynon:
Its about 12k euro per adult. You would be able to read more on fintiba.com or xpatrio.com.
The payment can be transferred from Nigeria bank into the German banks
I appreciate you guys for your responses. I will need your clarification on this:

On the appointment booking site, I found this message "Current waiting period: You have to wait for an appointment approximately 4 weeks". Does it mean I will only be able to select from or see available dates for appointments 4 weeks after submitting for a booking reference or 4 weeks before the filled starting date of study on the booking reference form?

Thanks for the reply. I do understand that a blocked account is account with restrictions or limitations.

Are there required amount specified by the Germany Embassy for both applicants?

Can this be done by Nigeria Banks or strictly by any or stipulated German Banks?
TravelRe: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by wallmosh: 8:00am On Sep 21, 2024

No they never accepted reference letter. Either you block the amount in a german bank account or you get a sponsorship letter from a German resident.
Yes you can travel with dependants so far you fulfil all dependants financial requirements (blocked account for each dependant, though the value differs per age range)
If dependant is a spouse, it is advisable the spouse joins you later with other means like reunion visa or study visa. Because as a student, going with dependant (spouse) might raise flags. I have seen a lady travel with 2 kids as dependants before but not a spouse dependant.
Germany visa is now gold. If you are in category A, few months. If category B, 12 months to 36months.
IT jobs yapa. Germany is the largest economy in europe, the 3rd biggest economy in the world, so IT job or any STEM job is good.
Read the thread in the past to know alot
Thanks for the input.

I would be glad for your clarification on someone who has been offered research assistant position (PhD) with provisional Meyer term to be extended upon performance review on:
1. Which category of visa is applying for?
2. Is advisable going with spouse and which visa category will he/she be applying for?
3. What is the financial and other requirements if both are applying?

As for renewal, they compare your names and date of birth on their system with that of NIN before you begin the application. It's after going for capturing, the NIN verification will be checked making it a sort of second level validation

May be there are discrepancies in your NIN details, Guess name arrangements or mispelt alphabets or age doesn't tally with your uploaded/submitted details during registration.
That will be interesting to know that beyond the few details initially displayed, there's validation for others.
