You think a good lawyer is free? If the tenant can afford a good lawyer what is stopping him from paying rent?

Who do you think will win in the end?

Ideally, it sounds sensible. The tenant may not be able to afford one before the landlady's action, others might to come to aid in fight for injustice "Naija way of dead time support"

As for renewal, they compare your names and date of birth on their system with that of NIN before you begin the application. It's after going for capturing, the NIN verification will be checked making it a sort of second level validation

Ask4bigneyo:

May be there are discrepancies in your NIN details, Guess name arrangements or mispelt alphabets or age doesn't tally with your uploaded/submitted details during registration.

That will be interesting to know that beyond the few details initially displayed, there's validation for others.

Commenced renewal application on 7th, captured on 9th and issued 23rd on the tracker. So it's approximately 2 weeks as I will be going for collection next week.

DIY, Abuja HQ.

Did the slip really contain the collection date though? Because what was written on mine was the Enrollment Number, Enrollment Date, Number of Passport Pages, File No, and a signature.
The only dates reflected on it were the date of the capturing.

PS. I also did mine at the Abuja HQ as DIY.

Date: 30/10/2023

Have you been issued? If yes, how many weeks after your capturing?

My experience at the immigration headquarter here in Sauka, Abuja.
I left home around 9am because my appointment time was slated for 11am and I got there few minutes to 11. I went to the passport processing center and met two officers at the entrance. I told them I was there for capturing. They asked if I knew anybody there and I replied no. So he said I should wait for him to call an officer on the phone that will open a file for me. I started to think hope this is not what I'm thinking shocked
The officer came and told me to follow him to the back of the office building. He checked all my documents and said the passport processing fee is 10k. I told him I didn't have and there was nothing like passport processing fee on their website. He now started to explain that I will collect a form and some officers will sign bla bla bla. I said I no get that the only money with me was my transport and I was told capturing was free. So he said I should go back and meet the officers at the entrance. I left him and went to stay at a place close the building to see if I could get another officer and explain my ordeal to him/her. That was how one of the officers at the entrance called me to come, was even surprised how he saw me because I wasn't staying at place he could easily see me, I guess they were scared grin

He asked me what the other officer said and I told them he mentioned I should drop 10k but I was told capturing was free and I was not to pay anything while I'm here. He felt guilty instantly cos his facial expression reflected that. That was when he now said I should go inside. I met a man probably in his late 50s while going in and he asked me what I was there for, told him and he called an officer to open a file for me. That was how a file was opened, the necessary signings were done, and my file was given back to me. After some minutes I was called in for capturing. Captured and was given a paper that contained when my passport would be ready. Left there around 2:15 pm
On my way back home I opened the immigration website on my browser to check if my nin had been verified, and of course they already verified it.
Total amount spent = 26k

For those who have been issued, what's your waiting period after capturing either renewal or fresh and at which passport office?

Good morning sir/ma,

Please my wife capturing is this Wednesday at Alausa, Ikeja. She is yet to change her name to my name and she used her fathers name as surname during the application, but she uploaded our marriage certificate during the documents upload.

My concern now is that won't she be turned back for more changing her surname to mine, or she can go ahead and capture but change the name later in the future.

Please group I need help on this. Thank you all

It is a pleasure, Sir.

To the best of my knowledge of how things "seem" to be working, the fact she was able to apply for her passport on the portal implies her record of NIMC matches her existing record with NIS if she is doing a renewal. I think in both cases either for renewal/fresh, she should have started with updating her records in NIMC before proceeding.

Be it as it is, she can make inquiries at the capturing center before the capturing to update her records (on their portal - correctional data) alongside at NIMC or she proceed with this and upon next renewal those change can be properly made

Good day everyone, my wife passport expires, so she wanted to renew it ,and use the opportunity to change from her maiden name to my name, does anyone knows what she will be needing or how to go about it in the uk, I mean nigeria immigration London

Her processing start from NIMC center close to you. From the center, she will guided in what she needs to effect that change - publication, court affidavit, if she has any legal document that bears the names she's willing to change else statutory of age, NIMC enrollment form, remitta payment invoice (500 for change of name).

If all tenders are correct, she will be re-enrolled with the updated name

It's a good policy to bolster the Naira, IMTO fund is different from inflows to Domiciliary acct. But, the bank that convert my USD to NGN, should be able to provide me with USD if the needs arises, especially for basic online transactions. Maybe it is time to reactivate USD transaction on Naira card.

Looking at the policy, it is likely that reactivation of USD transactions with Naira card(s) should follow because with this policy the restriction makes no sense.

Take it around 8-9am when the sun is just coming out.

Let both natural light and normal light be on.

Make sure the light reflection is even on all sides of your face i.e one side shouldn't be brighter than the other.

Try to use a white background or plain background with no shadows/reflection showing.

Let both your ears be showing and your eyes wide-open

Thanks. I followed this and it works

Okay. How much did you pay?

Which documents did you present?

It's DIY.

Best, visit the nearest NMC center around you to inquire what will be needed. In my case, affidavit, NMC enrollment form, application letter, and remita payment invoice

Hi All,

I am in a tight corner and I will be glad for your assistance with regard to when is an appointment scheduled for the short-term visa (other alternatives )I have been trying for the past few weeks and keep getting an unavailable response and I should retry at regular intervals (from 11:00 pm Nigeria time).

I am awarded a fellowship program for summer and based on the terms, I am meant to secure the visa at my end. The necessary documents have been provided by the organiser but I am yet to successfully book the visa appointment from the site. Speaking with other fellows in other countries, they are experiencing the same issue but were lucky to the visa interview by walking into the embassy in their countries without booking an appointment and being attended to.

In my case, I will be needing to travel down to Lagos risking my current engagement without an appointment booked considering the starting date for the program. I would like to know if a "walk-in interview" is allowed at the Lagos Embassy and if not what other possible steps to take in other secure the visa appointment.

Thanks

Thanks

Do you mean they can assist in facilitating the appointment booking?

Nothing. But tell the program sponsor to contact the Nigerian Embassy, it might help.
