Health / 4 Signs Through Which Nails Shows Symptoms Of Various Diseases by Wally1(m): 6:45am On Nov 21, 2018
Have you ever heard that nails of our fingers let us identify our health? Yeah its bit shocking, but you will get more shocked on reading the entire article. It’s not farced, it is true that we can know about health through examining our nails. Some people treat their nails as a fun part, as they think by decorating it they can add a surplus to their beauty. While some other people neglect this kind of beauty and never appreciate big and fancy nails.

According to the Britannica Encyclopaedia, the uppermost part of the nail known as the nail plate is connected to the nail bed, and when the cells in nails at the edges nail plate grow away from the underlying nail, then seems to turn into the white colour and die eventually. This is the reason we feel no pain when we cut them out. Whereas if mistakenly cut our cuticles, it starts painting like a hell. Nails protect the ends of finger’s and toes. Let us know how the nails play a vital role in knowing about one’s health and what signs cause let us know about the issues.
1. Colour of nails, helps us to identify if we are facing infection or Kidney/Liver issue

If you ever find yellow and white spots on nails, you need to get a consult to doctor about it, as it is the reason for concern. According to Mayo Clinic, the White colour of nails is caused due to a condition that is known as Terry’s Nails, further, it may act as the symptoms of liver disease, failure of the kidney.

Often the times mistakenly cut on the nail bed or any kind of injury may result in the condition that seems to be common nowadays, and known as “Leukonychia”. There can be two reasons for having the yellow colour nails, one needs to be concerned and the other can be neglected.

According to the WebMD, The first reason shows the symptoms of various serious diseases like thyroid disease, psoriasis and also fungal infection, which is why if you find your nails yellow, you are required to consult a doctor about it. Whereas the second reason is nothing to talk about as it could be due to the nail polish stain and for which you do not need to concern. If you find your nails green, you may face GNS (Green Nail Syndrome). People who work in healthcare and as a cook, seems to have more risk of getting this disease. According to “American Osteopathic College of Dermatology “ this disease is caused by the harmful bacteria named Pseudomonas Aeruginosa. If you find your nail colour as blue, then it may be caused due to the cold temperature and or it may also a symptom of cyanosis. In this disease, the RBC’s are found to be in lack of oxygen.

2. Unusual shapes and structures may be caused due to the nutritional deficiency

Onychogryphosis, a condition where nails start growing into unwanted shapes and structures. This condition can be caused due to the diseases like psoriasis or hystrix. A podiatrist may help you get out of it, while sometimes, removing the nail is all solution.

According to Mayo Clinic, if you find the ridges of nails in the vertical direction, then it may be a normal process of nail growth, although sometimes, they get thicker, due to the increase in person’s age.
While according to the institute “Harvard Health Publishing”, if you find the ridges if your nails in the horizontal direction, then it may due to the lack of proper nutrients. When our body doesn’t get the proper nutrients, then also it may badly effect to our nails.
3. Dark and White colour straight lines at the surface of nails

Lines at the surface of your nails, may be caused due to some of the issues. Basically, there are 2 types of lines that are found to ruin our nails and our body. Acc to the Medscape, the white colour lines that are parameterized to the entire nail, are known as the “Muehrcke’s Lines”,  are said to be connected with the diseases like anaemia, renal failure and pellagra. Whereas another white line that doesn’t parameterize but grows along out to the extent with the nail seems to be associated with thallium poisoning and arsenic. These are known as the “Mees’ Line”.

If anytime, you white these types of lines near the surface of your nails, and rather consult According to the NHS, if you find any dark stripes then it may be caused and be the reason for skin cancer. These dark stripes are known as “Linear Melanonychia”. Never avoid these dark stripes or white lines, otherwise, you may have to feel repentance later.

4. Cracked Nails can also be caused due to the lack of nutrients
Cracked nails can also be caused due to intaking of not proper nutrients. So every time, you face issue with your health and nails, never avoid it, as they may be the reason for your concern in the coming time.

So if you find your nails in unusual shape or structure, texture then must consult your doctor.

Desist from checking citizens’ account details – IGP warns FSARS

The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has told the operatives of the reformed Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad, FSARS, to desist from checking citizens’ bank account details.

The IGP also warned the FSARS operatives not to invade people’s phones and laptops unless they have a court order or an instruction from the commissioner of police in charge of a state police command.

Speaking during the weekend at a workshop on the reformed FSARS in Owerri, Imo state, the IGP warned that any FSARS operatives who violated the new rules would be dismissed from the force immediately.
Ibrahim, who was represented by the Deputy commissioner of police in charge of the IGP’s X-Squad, Amaechi Elumelu, said that any FSARS operative who handles cases not related to armed robbery and kidnapping would equally be dismissed from the Nigeria police force.

He said that under the new era in FSARS, the operatives must be professional and respect the rights and privileges of all citizens.
The IGP recalled that in the past, FSARS was considered the most elitist and professional Unit of the Police force because of its conduct.

He regretted that in the last two years, the Unit had been riddled with allegations of abuse and excesses which made the public to call for its disbandment.

He said, “under the reformed FSARS, it is illegal to search suspects phones, computers, or inquire about their bank account details without proper authorization.

“Henceforth, the FSARS Commanders must get directives from the State Commissioners before invading people’s privacies. Any officer who disobeys will be dismissed.”

The police boss disclosed that all operatives of FSARS would undergo medical evaluation in order to guarantee their mental, psychological, emotional conditions.
The police boss warned the operatives not to detain any suspect for more than 48 hours without a remand order from the court.

He also called for the establishment of a medical department in FSARS so as to provide medical assistance to sick suspects.

The FSARS commander in Imo state, Geoffrey Victor, a chief superintendent of police, said that the Unit under his supervision would obey and carry out the IGP’s instructions under the reformed F-SARS to the letter.

Career / What You Need To Know Before Starting An NGO (non Government Organisation) by Wally1(m): 12:44pm On Oct 16, 2018
People start NGOs when they have an idea about how to solve a problem they see in their community. Let’s say you start an NGO with a mission of expanding opportunities for girls to further their education. You might start with a program that provides mentoring to girls at one school and another project that reaches out to parents. Soon, more schools want you to set up mentoring programs, and the girls and their parents want different kinds of training programs. Before you know it, your NGO is trying to be everything to everyone. This is why you need a strategic plan.

A strategic plan starts with a clear statement of the NGO’s purpose — your mission. It should also include a vision statement that describes how you see the NGO in the future. For example: “Do we see ourselves with many programs in many different schools? Or do we see ourselves staying focused on a few schools and offering them more? Do we see yourselves creating our own center?”

With this overall vision, a strategic plan then presents your goals — the specific things you want to accomplish in the next three to five years to carry out the mission. It should include goals for your programs, such as “expand our mentoring program to reach girls in three new schools” — as well as goals for your organizational capacity, such as “strengthen our financial management system,” “expand our volunteer recruitment and training,” or “increase our fundraising to support new projects.”

Now, how can your NGO develop a strategic plan?

NGOs carry out strategic planning in many different ways. The simplest way is to bring together the NGO’s board members, staff and volunteers for a one-day meeting to reflect on where you are now and where you want to be in the future.

Try using a “SWOT” analysis. Ask yourselves:

“What do we do best?” That’s the “S” — your strengths.

“What do we need to do better?” That’s the “W” — your weaknesses.

“Where might we have opportunities to grow or enhance our work?” That’s the “O.”

“And what are the possible threats to our sustainability?” That’s the “T.”

In the future, when you’re ready to update your plan or develop a new one, you can involve other stakeholders — such as members of the community you serve, partner organizations, even your donors — in providing input on these questions. You can do this by using surveys, or interviews, or holding a community meeting.

Now what are some of the challenges you might face in strategic planning? You might lack the technical know-how — how to prepare a good plan. Ask another NGO with experience for some guidance.

You might think: “We don’t have time for all these meetings when we have people who need our help and deadlines to meet.” But you’ll find that by making the time for people to share their views about the NGO and to come to agreement on its future direction, you’ll build greater clarity and unity around where you’re going and how you’ll get there.

Remember, a strategic plan serves as a road map — keeping your NGO focused on its mission and priorities. Make sure all staff and volunteers understand the plan and organize their work around it.

Before you decide to take on a new project or a new partnership, check with the plan and see if it fits. Involve the Board of Directors in reviewing the plan once a year to assess progress. Send the final plan to your donors and partners, present it at a community meeting, put it on your website if you have one. By sharing your plan with these stakeholders, you inform them about the important work you do, and you build their trust and their confidence.

you can get volunteers by asking around from friends or family, by seeing a chairman of your local government, churches, mosques e.t.c

Note: non government organisation is not a profitable organisation but to help the less privilege. making use of what you have to help those in need.
