Frequently Asked Questions

1. When are we resuming?
For Returning Students: Resumption comes up December 2015, most likely on the 21st of December. Safe to say most people would be resuming Jan 2016.
For Freshers: Resumption should be between late November and early december.

2. When is the 2nd Batch Admission list going to be out? when is the Admission list going to be uploaded on the school's website? When is DE lists going to be out?
Admission list would soon be uploaded in the University's website between this week and next week, it would be uploaded alongside that of D.E candidates.

3. How much is the acceptance fee?
There has been no details on that yet, but the acceptance fee for last session was N45,000. Candidates are usually given Two to three weeks to pay.

4. Is Pre degree form still available?
It is very much available, the form goes for N12,000, visit the school's website to apply.

5. When is Change of Course Form going to be out? (Returning Students Only).
Change of course form is usually immediately returning students 2nd Semester results are out. We would keep you updated once it is available.

The Ivory Tower is supposed to be a place where one is expected to be well-grounded with the ability to present oneself to the outside world in the best possible way. This is the same reason why people in the eastern parts of Nigeria refer to it as 'Mahadum' which literarily means 'Know it all'.

It is so pathetic to come to terms with the fact that the reverse is the case as can be seen in most graduates today in our society! Below are some signs to show that someone who passed through the Ivory Tower could still be a half-baked graduate! :

1) You can't apply the uses of the 8 Parts of Speech in speaking and writing. Some Engineering and Science graduates would tell you that this isn't important because these are not part of their course of study! What an unforgiveable fallacy!!! So what have you been doing during your primary and secondary school days? I know very well that 'Parts of Speech' is the foundation of English as far as the subject is concerned. So, it means you have not been serious all those years to learn the foundation of communication!!! Whether you like it or not, English is the lingua-franca in Nigeria and if you can't communicate fluently in it, you are a half-baked graduate!!!

2) You can't read beyond two pages of a book. Reading is basically one of the various ways of learning so if you can't read beyond two pages of a book, I seriously wonder how you managed to pass your courses in the university! There are graduates who complain frequently about a 20-line write-up being too lengthy to read...they are many on this forum! The truth is that you would definitely miss out on vital information if you have this character and you are no better than a half-baked graduate!!! Quote me if you like!

3) You studied Mechanical Engineering yet you still take your car to the mechanic workshop to change common engine oil and other little things!

well.. for D block, d pumping m/c dats pumps into d hostel is faulty (they shld repair it b4 resumption) so water won't run in d rooms but there are 2 very large tanks just outside d block serving d block. Generally there is no water problem in d hostel

yup a micro chip... it was supposed to start wit my set but it started with 2013 set (twas in their ID card only, odas were exempted). It cn only b seen by holding d card over a source of lyt. the skul proposed d use of d card to mark attendance wit d use of sm machines (we'v nt seen dem tho) But d "chip" is nw in all students' ID card. (proof below), d one on d LHS was viewed ova a flashlyt

hostel old block has A and B... A is 6 per room.. B is 8 per room, for both, each floor has its set of toilets and bathrooms to b used by all d rooms on dat floor while new hostels have 1 toilet and 2 bathrooms per room... U can cook wit either stove or hot plates.. gas nt allowed... d Lyt is superb.. even if thers no lyt, ther's a generator dat powers d hostel.. 3hrs at nyt, 2 hrs in d morning. each block has kitchens and common rooms ( a general room wit dstv (full sub) for relaxation)
old (male and female) - #18,090... new (male and female) -#25,090, newest (female) - #30,090. Most likely I'll get d accodation if u apply coz tis nt all 100level students dat will apply and den u cn apply in 200level, 300level or final yr even if u dnt apply or get it in 100level. there is a preferential treatment fr final year students too

nope... even tho they'd b given sm kind of preferential treatment and higher percentage of d allocation will b given to them, FUNAAB's hostel capacity ain't dat large yet. we are getting ther tho... mor hostels are under construction.. dis is a prototype of d one behind SUB

The Stuff is Funaab is an Agric school. So 70% of the students don't like the course they are been offered. So, that makes Changing of department hard!

Unless You are given withdrawal P, and You have to change to Agric, its not always hard.

The summary of everything is that to Change from any Agric course to Colnas, Coleng, Colvet is very hard. But to change from all those mentioned Colleges to Colplant, Colamrud, Colerm , Colanim, is very easy. Trust me.

Ehn changing of department in the same College is easy na, so far You GP is swollen Up.

I also ave a friend, He was in CSC last year, but he transfered to Colerm and he started all over again.

Another friend of mine who was in Colplant, He transfered to Coleng and his 4 point GP dropped to 2 point.

coleng no b beans nw.. but d main reason why sm ppl av to repeat 200 level (im referring to those wu changed their dept. willingly)is because of lots of compulsory courses dey dint offer in d department they left but are important on d one they are going to. e.g CSC to COLERM.

yes, you can but to Change your department, you must have finished you're second year in school, then you can start your the second year again in your new department . What I mean is that, if you are changing department. When you are supposed to be in 300 level. You will be in 200 level. That's if your department leaves you alone.

it is nt a must to go back to 200 level.. it depends on the department u ar crossing from and to. I av a departmental mate wu crossed from agric Engr to mechanical, we were both in 200level and he continued in mechanical in 300level. just had to do an 100level MCE departmental course
