Akaujaa: I'm not a fan of APC nor Buhari, but if truth must be told in all sincerity without any iota of sentiment, I will say that Buhari really means well for this country. During his campaign, I remember him say that being a victim of electoral fraud and injustice, he will never interfere with the Nigerian judicial system when it comes to dispensing justice. I am saying this because a normal government in power, given the Nigerian context, will muscle out opposition and never allow them to hold sway. But, so far the reverse has been the case. You may chose to interpret it your own way but I think this government should be applauded for this. he's NT the first president not to interfere with court orders. Gej did d same thing during osun tribunal and ekiti state tribunal which apc won at the appeal courts. |

As the Governor of a state is Good sometimes to tell your citezens what you cant do, not only doing General Works , Governor Ayo Fayose did the unexpected today after some restive youths at Iju, Ondo State barricaded a major road following the alleged killing of an Okada by a policeman.. The governor’s motorcade and other motorists were prevented from plying the route close to Iju/Itaogbolu police station where the rampaging youths had blocked the road with bonfire.

Governor Fayose came down from his car, walked up to the angry youths surrounded by his security aides as he thanked them for the respect accorded him saying he plies the road regularly and couldn’t have run away from them today because there was an issue.
He promised to get in touch with Ekiti State Police Commissioner who in turn will get in touch with Ondo CP and make sure the trigger happy policeman is dealt with according to the law.
The Governor later told them he’ll drop some “little cash” for “morning bread” to the admiration of the now calm youths who quickly looked for water from the deserted police station to quench the bonfire. The barricades too were removed as the governor supervised for some minutes the free flow of traffic before finally taking his leave. http://viviangist.com/gov-fayoses-motorcade-was-blocked-in-ondo-by-angry-youths-see-what-he-did

Politics › Re: Nigeria’s Biggest Mosque, Africa’s First 7-star Hotel Planned For Port Harcourt by Wanice: 5:43pm On Oct 27, 2015 |
247frolicboss: Following the judgment of the Rivers State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal that nullified the election of Governor Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), revelations have surfaced about a grand plot to build Nigeria’s biggest mosque in State’s capital city of Port Harcourt.
According to sources, the plan, which dates back to 2012, is to repossess a large portion of old Port Harcourt Township from the popular Aggrey Road, through Victoria to Bonny Streets and unto Creek Road and convert it to a new development to be called Great Dawatul City.
The developers of the project, which will have Nigeria’s largest Mosque, 6,000 units of 3 and 5 bedroom residential duplexes and world class business arcades as its star attractions intend to use it as a global model to showcase and redefine Islam as a progressive religion in cosmopolitan cities around the world.
Funding for the project it was said, had been secured by a billionaire mogul and industrialist who himself had negotiated some years ago to purchase the entire shoreline from the Creek Road axis which he has earmarked for world class luxury apartments and Africa’s first 7 Star hotel.
Possession of the shoreline was hindered by the Goodluck Jonathan administration’s refusal to give its nod following agitations by local inhabitants of the area claiming forced eviction. The new plan, it is reliably gathered has got the nod of the Presidency and will have residents and property owners handsomely compensated in return for their lands.
A former governor of the State who is already in talks with the promoters of the Estate development assured them of cooperation on the condition that allegations of corruption against him are ignored and the current Governor Nyesom Wike is removed from office to facilitate the smooth implementation of the project.
The developers plan to market the project as an open society which would provide jobs for the teeming unemployed and change the skyline and landscape of the Garden City.
The area earmarked for the multi billion dollar project already has the highest concentration of Northerners in the city and is expected to see an increase especially of elite class after its completion in 2023.
