InvestmentRe: Real Estate Or Shares: Which Is Better? by Waserock: 5:13pm On Feb 22, 2008
Father ab,

We're in the same boat. But what I'm doing right now is to invest heavily in the stock market, since it gives the highest return in Nigeria at the moment. However, whenever I make a good harvest, I head straight to the real estate market.

My Formula is: Short-term = Stock Market, Long-term = Real estate.

Try this formula and you'll reap from both worlds!

InvestmentRe: Daar Ipo. How Do U See It? by Waserock: 4:49pm On Feb 22, 2008
Daar is a company built on artiticulated vision and foresight. It took years of hardwork to get the company where it is today.

Transcorp on the other hand, was inspired by BaBa, who thought he could play god. That was why Baba said "be" and Transcorp was.

But the Almighty God has begun to reduce Baba and his creations (including Transcorp) to their levels.

So my brother, Daar Communications and Transcorp "NO BE D SAME"
InvestmentThe African Petroleum (ap) N250/share Offer by Waserock(op): 4:23pm On Feb 22, 2008
Less than 6 months ago, AP was trading at less than N60/Share.

For no fundamental reasons (that I'm aware of) they raised the price to over N300.00/share (about 400% appreciation) and hanged it there. huh shocked

Now in spite the threat by SEC to investigate the apparent shoddy deal, the NSE has given the company a go-ahead to float a hybrid offer, with the PO price going for N250.00/share. shocked

Is 419 creeping into the Nigerian Stock Market?

BusinessRe: Transcorp: The Fall Of A Giant? by Waserock: 1:23pm On Feb 19, 2008
@father ab,
Uncertainties looms but my earnest hope is that the giant gets back to its feet and DIVERSIFY instead of expecting favouritism from the FG.
Pls don't keep describing Transcorp as a GIANT. How much has the company declared so far in terms of Total Assets, Turnover and Profits? I only have a fair idea of their LIABILITIES grin

I've bought a piece of land close to Mararba, Karu LGA in Nasarawa State and the former owner has surrendered to me his original R of O.
How do I change the title to my name ? Do I really need a C of O?
Pls what's the difference between the 2 ? Someone told me if the land is not in an urban area, R of O wolud suffice. But I've seen someone whose land is in Abuja given an R of O. Can someone pls help with some clarifications? Does a C of O add any economic value value?

BusinessRe: A School, Resort, An Estate Or Integrated Farm - Can Anyone Pls Help? by Waserock(op): 1:44pm On Feb 11, 2008
@LoanBroker
Thanks for your advice. I'll consider other options but if I eventually decide to sell, I'll let you know.

@babycoo
Thanks too. The land is in a developed area of Uke, the HQ of Karshi Development area of Karu L.G.A, so it's quite buildable. But I was thinking of limiting development to some 50 ft from the bank of the stream. That is to say an area of say 50 X 500 ft along the bank of the stream may be reserved for a garden, fish farm, etc.

@father ab
Thanks also for the advice. I'll try to get someone to look at the plot and come up with a design at a reasonable fee.

Once again,Thank you all
BusinessA School, Resort, An Estate Or Integrated Farm - Can Anyone Pls Help? by Waserock(op): 12:05pm On Feb 08, 2008
I have about 8 hectres of land bordering a stream in Karu L.G.A, 22 KM from Abuja. The business ideas I have in mind include:

1. Building a secondary school
2. A Reort
3. An Estate (using alternative buiding materials).
4. An Integrated Farm (Fish, Snail, etc), as the land is bordering a stream.

For any of the above, I can only raise an initial investment capital of about N15.00 million.

The last option being to sell the land (the original owner had designed a layout of about 70 plots with road network (a plot of land in the area goes for about N400,000) and investthe money elsewhere.

Please I need a sincere advice.
