NEW YEAR'S MESSAGE FROM THE OFFICE OF NATIONAL SECRETARY, KOWA PARTY

January 1, 2018.


Dear KOWA family,
2017 was quite a challenging year for KOWA. It was a year that the structural integrity and institutional capacity of the Party was tested considerably. All these are symptoms of a maturing Party, not a threat to her viability.
It was a year that witnessed unprecedented donations by members for Party operations by, mostly the KOWA Professionals and a few NEC members. (Detailed financial and end-of-year reports will be circulated shortly).
It was a year of both significant achievements and considerable failings. However, KOWA remains standing with huge potentials that require masterly, committed leadership to aggregate for vital electoral successes in 2019.
To achieve this, all hands must be on deck. I wish to appreciate all members and Party leaders who have supported us through thick and thin. We equally appreciate the positive contributions of our persistent critics who have put the Party's NEC on our toes through the year. Your criticisms, even when we disagreed with your modus operandi at times, have helped us to constantly do self-reassessments that has helped to elevate our performance level and the Party has become the better for it.
To all state chairpersons, the NEC appreciates your tremendous sacrifices for the Party in a situation of considerable financial challengws.
To all KOWA members both old and new, we thank you for keeping faith with the Party. We know you have some feelings of disappointment, but we promise you a far better 2018. You will see a proactive, responsive, and creative NEC with a more disciplined regimen of administrative efficiency. Your concerns shall be addressed pronto and you will be made to feel proud of your Party. KOWA will be repositioned and re-energised not just to contest in 2019, she will be empowered to win significantly. We will ensure absolute internal Party democracy in electing our local, state, and national candidates who will represent the Party at the polls. This will be demonstrated at our national convention which may have to be held earlier than the original March 2018 date for strategic reasons. A decision will be taken in the next one week whether to combine the National Convention and the presidential primary, depending on INEC's timetable.

We will ensure total transparency and accountability in the management of Party resources and reorganize the national headquarters to acquire the necessary capacities to withstand the challenges of the 2019 general elections.
The NEC has commenced a national contact initiative that would culminate in ensuring that the Party elects the most effective BOT ever at the 2018 National Convention.
We are mindful of the historic significance of 2018 and we are prepared to capitalise on the momentum to position KOWA as the credible alternative that Nigerians can trust to "make a difference" beneficial to all and sundry.
We shall embark on structural strengthening of the Party nationwide. The NEC shall operate an all-inclusive administration with wide and constant consultations with active founding members and Associated Organizations.
KOWA Party shall provide Nigerians with the credible alternatives they've craved for so long.
I wish to appreciate the national chairperson, Saidu Bobboi, and other NEC colleagues for doing our level best under extreme circumstances of unremunerated services and significant dearth of funds and work tools. Through all these, with little or no appreciation of the incredible challenges we face and, sometimes, unfair and uninformed attacks against us, you've demonstrated resilience and honour. Even though we didn't score high marks in the previous year, we could not be said to have failed. Let's use the opportunities presented by this new year not just to improve our performance ratings, but we have to also perfect the means to make KOWA a winning Party. That's our focus for the next one year starting today and we have to deliver. No breaks, no holidays.
Dear KOWAns, together, let's make the difference that Nigerians wish to see in 2018.

The state chapter of KOWA party have elected hon. OFOKE Francis as the state chairperson. This event took place at Metro view hotel opposite Presco campus gate. He defeated com.chidi to emerge as the state leader. The event had in attendance the national leaders of the party...Southeastern leaders ..INEC national headquarter representatives...INEC state representatives..press men..security agents...members of state IPAC as observers too.

SPEECH BY THE NATIONAL CHAIRPERSON: At this juncture, the National Chairperson of KOWA party Alh. Saidu Bobboi mounted the podium and cheered the mammoth delegates. He expressed his profound joy on the exercise. He went further to educate the KOWA-party faithful on need to participate actively in politics in their state as the destiny and the further of their state lies on their hands. He therefore re-assured the KOWA-party Ebonyi state that the National body will always be there for them any time any day. He seized the opportunity to congratulate the newly elected excos of KOWA-party Ebonyi state and charged them to always abide to the rules and norms guiding KOWA-party.

He thereafter presented the certificate of return together with the constitution and Manifesto of the party to Hon. Ofoke Francis I. the newly elected Chairperson of KOWA-party Ebonyi state.

REMARKS BY THE NATIONAL SECRETARY: The National Secretary, Com. Mark Adebayo also congratulated the newly elected excos and commended the State Chairman Hon. Francis Ofoke for his outstanding performance within 6 month in acting capacity. He however assured them of National total support to Ebonyi state from now on.
Furthermore, IPAC State Secretary of Ebonyi state Hon. Splendour O. Eze who doubles as the state chairman Advanced Congress of Democrat (ACD) commended the conduct of the election and assured the KOWA -party Ebonyi state of their cooperation in the state.

ACCEPTANCE SPEECH BY THE NEWLY ELECTED STATE CHAIRPERSON ON BEHALF OF OTHERS: To this end Hon. Francis Ofoke I. thanked everybody for making the day a success and assured them that he will not betray the trust they have bestowed on him.
