Location is very important in any business. It aides in the contact between the producer and consumer but in my case as a farmer i will put it in context of nearness to market since i will be dealing on fresh product#ugu. I was able to acquire close to two plots of land from the village head for free. Yea for free, that is the power behind being a corper serving in a rural area. However, my village is 30minutes drive to the state capital which is populated with people from different tribes most especially the igbos. And you know they consume ugu alot not leaving out the Oda tribes. I have talked About two important tins to note if you wanna venture into biz. Your location and yo customers. Also, another thing to note is that is there a ready market for yo product. Since i started the farm which is About two months plus from cultivation. I have made close to three sales bulky Ones. But lets not move to fast. The aspect of if there is a ready market for yo product should be taken seriously via research not run at loss most especially if you are running an agric biz. People might wonder if hausas consume ugu, most interestingly they do but they dont cultivate it. For example in Nasarawa it is rarely cultivated. The ones sold at the state capital comes from the neighbouring states like benue and the few gotten within the state are from vegetable gardens which dont meet demand. To this effect there is a ready market if you get your act right via the neccesary research. After my feasibility studies on the market size and so on. I had to get down to work to steps of setting my farm. |
Thanks tycoflu and kunle for following |
Arriving my place of primary assignment (ppa), I had to get down to work because time was no longer on my side. This was my first business experience as an agropreneur, however there are some key things i had to consider before embarking on such a venture. I will pose the consideration to questions. Like ademat previously asked me "do hausas eat vegetables".. This part takes care of the product m About to sell. Is there a market for it. Where are my customers and so on. |
Vegetable farming is an idea i have wanted to try in a long time aside the part that it is said to be a lucrative agric biz. But one problem young farmers like us have is the availability of the resources needed to startup which will include first and most importantly the land. Land is appreciative commodity but expensive to acquire in terms of agriculture. This has discouraged many young farmers who want to practice agriculture. However, my came was different as all i hope for was handed to me in a platter of gold. I wanted to be posted to a rural settlement. I got it and fortunately for me farming was their Major occupation. |
Welcome @ademat@dwal.. @ademat7 it might interest you to know that hausas consume vegetables. Nasarawa state is not dominated by hausa per se. There are several tribes tho but the village i'm serving is dominated by hausa and fulani and they consume vegetables. The common one is alewo known as green or efo. My journey started wen ah printed my posting letter. Well, I was expecting Nasarawa state because i chose it as it was a "safe north" to me. About mesef ; i am graduate of delta state uni abraka so i rep the south. I studied agric education. Yea agric.. I love it.. Its the way forward. Four years in the uni opened my eyes to the numerous untapped potentials and oportunities agriculture has to offer. However, the experience i av gotten in just three months is wonderful, frustrating but all the same has made me grow strong. |
Hello nairlanders, m samie samiloco farmer as i am called by my corper colleagues. I am serving currently in Nasarawa state, daddere village obi local government. I just wanna share my experience in vegetable farming #ugu and green leaf farming. Well its been quite an experience and a very interesting one which is not over yet. So just sit and relax. |

*******New Update******** The wedding service had already closed and it was time to take pictures so I was called upon. I quickly dashed to the church garden. When I got there it was already filled up. I managed to smuggle my way in to meet the newly wedded couple who posing like paparazzi. Everyone was with their phones taking snapshots agitatedly like as if they Chris Brown and Rihana. I was just there less concerned but just because of my mother. I stood at one corner close to the paparazzi couple redialing Jide's number, he was still not picking. I was already getting worried. Soon, I heard my name, I peeped to see who was calling. It was my mother, she waved at me to come join her, I sluggishly strolled to where she and her husband was. On one hand I need not be told to go celebrate with my mother on a this day of her life. The day a woman gets married is very special and she needs all the love and attention. But when the choice of her life partner is a wrong one you can't possibly expect me to wear a smiling face and pretend all is gonna be okay. It just like entering a car with faulty brakes. They had taken lots of pictures and it was time to proceed to the reception ground. I was not sure I knew were the reception was taking place but from the way people described it, It is not a hall nor a tent reception I wonder what it is. My mother and her husband proceeded out the church dancing. We were few steps behind them rejoicing with them. I just followed keenly wearing with this sarcastic smile, if they only knew this man, my so-called uncle they will stone him to death. My uncle went for the door of the recent model of Peugeot. If you used that kind of car in a town like ours; hmmmm, you are a lord. Well i doubt if my uncle can afford that kind of car unless he his a druglord. My mother kept smiling as she entered the car, the joy on her face was ecstatic. I was elated seeing the smile on her face but with my uncle in picture its just spoilt everything. My uncle joined her shortly after waving at us. I joined the bridal train in a limousine. I was worried about Jide, the message he had sent me was about his gallery. So people had robbed it and took his paintings. And I was here vexing over nothing and on top of everything I did not give him any chance to explain. However, the endless hosting f the bridal train was getting annoying, I am not surprised as to why they have not often married. They kept talking about the dressed style they saw atghe church, you rocked the better dressed, who wore colour riot not leaving out the hot guys they plan to hookup with at the reception. That was least of my concern but thwir ranting could not mkae me concentrate. As we drove i started hearing music distant away, it was becoming clear and loud. We gotten the venue i supposed. The gossip ladies were already getting excited agitatedly like dogs waiting of its master to serve it food. As the car stopped they did not hesitate they dashed out like a dog that was let loose. it was big mansion with beautiful lawns, that was my first time seeing sych beautiful landscape in a compound. The reception was not left of the beauty as it well arranged with round tables and chairs covered in pink linen, garnished with colourful flowers on each table plus the different brands of drinks that sat on each table. |
joanee20:sisi joanee na vex for the late update..... |
I yam really sorry for the late update....abeg make una vex.... ******new update****** *************PRESENT************ The wedding ceremony was coming to an end with my mother signing her happiness away supposedly called the wedding certificate. My uncle kept smiling like as if he had won a lottery. That was least my concern as I was to why Jide was not picking my calls. He was supposed to be with me at least, and I was already getting tired of everything. As I got up to leave I bumbed into the same short man accompanied by his the same body guard that visited my uncle sometime ago. I paved way for them to pass, but something was awkward. He stopped; hello, you must be jumoke, he asked; Dumbfounded!! Yesss..I said sarcastically. You have grown into a beautiful lady he added; first of all, you asked to know if I was jumoke and now I have grown into a beautiful lady, I thought. I just wore this tight smile to flow with him so I dont make him look stupid in such an awkward conversation. I departed after the awkward encounter without even knowing who I was talking to. That also was least of my concern too. Where is Jide? That was my concern. The wedding was taking too long, the whereabouts of Ade is unknown. I was juat tired of everything. I was loitering in the church in consolation of my tired situation when i heard a vibration from my purse. It was my mobile phone ringing, before i could answer the call it was late so i missed it. I noticed that he had given me several missed calls plus a message. As I was about reading the message his call came in. I was furious and started pouring down avalanches of anger on him as to why he left me hanging. He tried to plead with me to calm down but I allowed anger to get the better part of me. I was still blabbing unnoticed that Jide had ended the call, it was when I was done I kept quiet to hear from him but there was no reponse. I looked at my phone and noticed it was the same way it was with the message display before his call came. I tried to call him back but he was not answering his phone so i stopped. Now i was confused, the anger that made me say too much had dissappeared and now my common sense became functional. I browsed my phone and checked my inbox and clicked it. It opened, when i was done reading it i felt ashamed of myself. I had bleeped up! |

One Afternoon, I and my mother were sitting at our backyard gusting. Then the though about asking her about her nightmares popped into my mind. But there was a problem how to ask the question so she doesnt shy away. So as I wanted to ask she halted and said she had something she wanted to tell me but did not know how to put it. Oh we are now in the same shoe I thought, then I told I I had something also to ask her but did not know how to go about it. So I told her to go ahead and tell me what she had in mind. It is about your Uncle Debo? She said; what happened? Did he touch you or hurt you? What does he want from you or as he not done enough harm I said agitatedly. Nothing of such she said; and what is all these you are saying about him she asked skeptically. Nevermind i reterated; so what about my uncle i asked wearing a tight smiling. She kept looking at me skeptically awkward manner. He asked me to marry him; my mother said......... watch out for the next update....comments...criticisms will be appreciated... |
ladies...gents...oral or penetration...which gives that ecstatic satisfaction ![]() |
joanee20:miZ joanee..your thoughts... |
The way of tongue, is broad and narrow, It is dangerous and yet very safe, The ways of the tongue are numerous, A taste organ, with thousands of taste buds, It can tell, distinguish, the tastes of anything it comes it contact with, When it senses much pepper in a soup, the feeling is excruciating When it tastes too much salt, it becomes sour When it tastes a delicious meal, it nerves dances for joy, Words spoken via the tongue cannot be taken back, That is why It is sharper than two edged sword, Poisonous than the venom of a python, and yet, Safe as the milk produced by the breast of woman. It has caused conflicts within families, Initiated Inter/intra-tribal wars between communities, villages, It has broken marriages, shattered relationships, dissected friendships into sworn enemies. Indeed, the way of the tongue is mysterious. However , the way of the tongue is wonderful it is reason why we are alive today, sleeping safe with our eyes closed. It is the reason, Christians go to church, the Moslems go to mosque. It is said that when he speaks the the witches, wizards, evil spirits will run for safety. When he used it to pray to the Most High God, five men were fed to their satisfaction, He even ordered the troublesome sea to calm down, the way of the tongue is indeed powerful, The way of the tongue, gives good memories, bad ones too, It is often said that ladies are moved by what they hear, Perhaps , that's why men scavenge for pickup lines, rehearse helplessly, to get it right..hmmm the way of the tongue. When I felt his lips on mine, and his tongue caressing mine, I knew he was the one. The way we communicated was like a trip to heaven, smooth, solemn, each step was an extention of the other moving sequentially. If I hadn't rescued my lips I don't know what would have been left, he hustled my lips like a mason who was eating bread and pepsi, The way his tongue journied and interscepted mine was like clash of the titians. Take it easy man, but he was concerned with using his drilling machine like tongue on mine. I wonder what he is looking for. Oh, it speaks yet another language, A language where you don't have to say a word, Imagine the tales of the two ladies, they had two experiences they will live to remember. What if that was their first kiss? Because a lady can tell a lot from the first kiss if he was the one, Not too many man visits a lady's downtown, Even when they visit, they are just too impatient to chillout, But he who is patient enough maximizing the way of the tongue, She will shiver, quiver, moan, groan.... You have given her the treatment of the goddess, satisfied her inner most desire Taking her to that highest ectastic pivot... Indeed, the way of the tongue is more complex, unique than you imagine it.. |
it will be an interesting piece tho.. |
*******new update******* Things were not as rossy as I wanted them to be, I was still emotionally distablized with the harassment from my uncle, my fate was still uncertain plus my mother health situation which has not gotten any better since she came home. I thought it will improve with seeing me everytime plus all the pictures that i showed her about our family perhaps maybe she will remember anything at all. However, I and jide were moving quite along with each other even though we had completed our secondary education, we still find time for ourselves. He was a huge support to me and I really appreciatte his efforts. One Sunday afternoon, I was at that parlour watching a movie when I heard a loud cry. It was not just a loud cry but turned into continous screaming, it was my mother. I rushed up to her. But before I got there I saw my trying to calm her down. i went in the room and sat close to my mother was still breathing heavily, sweating profusely like as if he had been chased for hours. This was awkward because the time i spent with my mother when she was still at the hospital she never had a.nightmare in the afternoon. Aside that she was breathing heavily and sweating I noticed she her eyes was all swollen. I could not make plausible guess at what situation she was going through. It was just confusing. I went to the kitchen to get her a glass of water. I handed it over to her she emptied it and ordered for another one. By then my uncle had left us. As I came back with the water I noticed she had laid down. I tapped her, she got up and sat up right and took the water. I was still very curious as to why she had nightmares, so I asked her yet again about what was distressing her and make her wake up abruptly screaming. i keep seeing you in my dreams, but what I see happening is scary I guess that is what's making scream she said; still curious I asked what did she see happen in the dream. But she felt reluctant and said she had headache and wanted to rest her head. I withdrew questioning her and allowed her rest. However, I was feeling very much unrest with what my mother said, I wanted to help her stop this nightmare which was awful. This was beyond my power and confronting my uncle was another hard nut to crack it was as if I was gonna ask hades for help. The a thought crept in, I picked up the home landline and dialed a number, it started ringing but no one was answering. I redialed it several times but no answer still. I dropped the phone, I sat down staring at my mother was fast asleep. I felt pity for her situation. Few weeks later, things got better with my mother a little at least. Uncle Debo had called Doctor Steven to come checkup on her. And according to his diagnosis he said the reason why mother was experiencing those nightmares was that there pieces of her lost memory which was surfacing and she is struggling to remember which has over laboured her brain. However, he suggested we use the services of a psychiatrist or a psychologist to help her with her memory because it looks as if she will have her memory back. |
