Lionel Messi has officially surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo's free-kick record after scoring from a direct set-piece in Argentina's 3-0 win over Jamaica in the early hours of Wednesday morning. The Argentine scored another super free-kick in his PSG match vs Nice just days after his last one thereby raising his tally. . The 35-year-old started on the bench in the 2021 Copa America winners' victory over Jamaica, but scored yet another brace after being introduced as a second-half substitute. His goals came within three minutes of one another towards the end of the match, including a free-kick strike that saw him bring up his 59th goal from direct dead-ball situations for club and country. . Messi has thus now surpassed Ronaldo's free-kick record, with the ex-Real Madrid and Juventus talisman having so far racked up 58 set-piece goals in his career since arriving on the scene. While Messi is now on 60. This also means no other active footballer has been more accurate from free-kicks than the Argentina captain, who is now just two away from equalling Diego Maradona's record tally of 62. Brazil icon Juninho Pernambucano, widely considered as the greatest dead-ball specialist of all time, still leads the ranking after scoring 77 free-kick goals. . Messi's form for Argentina in 2022 The former Barcelona skipper has now hit the back of the net on 10 occasions for his country in 2022, with 12 goals being the most he has scored in a single calendar year for Argentina. Of his 10 strikes, nine of them have come in his past three outings for the Albiceleste after he struck five times against Estonia in July, twice against Honduras this past weekend and twice against Jamaica. . .Messi & Ronaldo's freekick record The Argentine has scored 8.9% of the freekicks that he has taken while Ronaldo has managed 6.2% . https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.snl24.com/amp/soccerladuma/international/messi-ronaldo-neymar-mbappe-watch/lionel-messi-surpasses-cristiano-ronaldo-free-kick-record-20220928 . Odoctor:And we do not have any data yet to prove them wrong either. There are no facts, all we know is that antibiotics are a class of drugs produced from microbes (E.g. penicillin class drugs from the fungus; penicillium notatum) with a strong efficacy against other microbes such as bacteria capable of causing diseases. We do not, however know how each pharmaceutical companies make their antibiotics. General assumptions in science are only rigidly enforced within the walls of theoretical learning and research. In the field you must be very flexible. If you are a doctor, you should know how physicians can override standard drug dosages based on symptoms severity or changing symptoms till patients starts responding to treatment. Sometimes patients are even transfused just so, more drugs can be administered. . . Again I am not saying you are wrong, but you are being too unnecessarily rigid with your points. Have you not done a research that requires factoring into considerations, public opinions before? Reading through the comments here and the general assumptions of the public, you can tell that the said drug seem to work almost 70% of the time for what the public uses it for. Because sniper is meant for fumigation doesn't mean it cannot kill a full grown human. We now know this fact too right? . We cannot be sure of the contraceptive benefits of the drug as claimed by the public, a lot of factors could be in play, at the same time we can never be sure that it wasn't the drug that gave those benefits. That is why for our hypothesis, we should work with statistics. And if so much people are saying the same thing, it could as well be right. . I went through some of your replies. It is very wrong to say a woman can only get pregnant within a 24hours period in a month. Theoretically a woman can become pregnant at any time of the month. Even during her safe days. You see, in medicine we talk in terms of chances not certainty. Her chances are only slimmer on some days, they are not exactly as slim as zero on any day. . This is why couples using the Calendar and withdrawal method as a form of family planning still often produce babies. As in people having sex on so called safe days and still avoiding introduction of sperms into the female reproductive canal, somehow still manage to reach fertilizations. Small semen in precum travels all the way and still get eggs fertilized. If such small amount of sperm cells can fertilize eggs on safe days, it tell you that no day is actually safe (in that regards) with certainty. To put a number on it, the effectiveness of birth control based on safe days practice is only about 45%, your chances of still getting pregnant on safe days is more than 50% This is why it is usually combined with pills, withdrawal and other less invasive birth control methods. |
Odoctor:Smiles. Let me try and give some explanations sir. You are right. Very right. But only by the standards of what we know in science about that particular drug so far. Chloroquine and its derivatives used to be the primary go-to drug for malaria but overtime science discovered it could be dangerous for the health than previously known. . Surprisingly, during the height of the pandemic, the same chloroquine became a primary care drug. . Many times, scientific findings originates from public assumptions and thesis. Science often discover new drugs by questioning locals or querying the efficacy of drugs used by locals, or trying to establish if local drugs and care are functional or not. . If so many people think they are deriving contraceptive benefits from an antibiotic drug, then I think the government, necessary agencies and the scientific community have to study that drug and its production process. . You never can tell, what you call antibiotics might contain something else, or perhaps a new discovery awaits us. The production process of beecham ampiclox or whatever it is called might have allowed it to be able to function as something else. |
Jman06:Exactly sir! Sometimes back I gave a microbiology student of the University of Ilorin a ride. He was down and felt somewhat sad. I asked him about his woes and he told me his supervisor is insisting that that his project will be based on "Microbial flora of swimming pool" (Imagine the boring topic?) Still I asked him why he does not want the topic, his answer amazes me! Not only has the topic been repeated consecutively for the past eight years or so! the students said students are basically told to copy formats from projects of previous students. This student however claimed to be working on the idea of building logic gates (the basic components of computer processors) with microbes! why? he said environmentally friendly biodegradable electronics. how novel! unfortunately his ideas sounded far fetched to them and he was constrained to avoiding it. . Some one year later I found this kid within the campus, still with the yellow tag. If he did his project last year, he should have graduated. It turned out he spilled! He went through with his idea but his lecturers never acknowledged it. they call it farce and failed him. I decided to make some research on his project and discovered top scientists around the world are beginning to work on it! . That is the problem! Smart kids are failed. The dumb ones clearly copying from old projects are passed. Nigerian lecturers seem to always catch up late. They do not create new ideas, they prefer to only work with ideas that have already been established in the west. There are still a few innovative lecturers and professors though. Americans do not use the honors system...there has to be a reason for it. Their universities are always among the top 50 in the world. They occupy more than 50% of the first 50 or first hundred. Aiish... |
AsabaPropertyAg:Lol baba don finish ooo nothing to offer again, was just moving all over the place uncoordinated. Imagine, despite the goals party, baba still couldnt get on the score shit. GerogeI:Ben Carson, Albert Einstein, leonardo da Vinci, the list goes on. These are exceptionally smart people with very high intelligence Q. That performed woefully in their academics at the start of their career. Leonardo especially was never able to write the alphabet correctly! And Ben Carson after all his failures in school and barely made it through medical college still became the first physician in the world to perform hemisphrectomy and a few other novel surgeries which till today, cannot be performed in any African hospitals! (Except South Africa) . Your percentile guess is wrong. One study found that only 10% of college failures are not academically bright. The study concluded that the figure could be lower (Google the references pls) . The fact that you do not know that geniuses suffer in the Nigerian Academic system says alot about your own I.Q. Just in case you are a lecturer or an aspiring one, walking around with this sort of orientation is dangerous for you and the students in your care. Please unlearn and relearn. |
GerogeI:I don't know your degree, nor the honors you graduated with but you are either a kid or not so smart person. To think that the British honors system is a measure of intelligence amounts to making mockery of your intelligence. |
specialmati:E shock me I swear. The fool is losing his sense. If you want to criticize someone at all cost you will end up making a fool of yourself. I have lost my admiration for that idiiot |
obembet:Ode. You created a thread for messi and so? You think everyone is a fool like you? And you are even talking trash about messi playing with quality players or something....why will you not see them as quality players when he is always developing and assisting players around him. That is what your selfish goat is lacking get that into ur dull skull and stop playing stupid childish mind games. |
