Apeal what when the operators had already breached the licence issuance terms and agreement?

The Central Bank of Nigeria CBN has 22nd May, 2022 revoked licenses of microfinance banks, fiancé companies and Primary mortgage banks in Nigeria.

The CBN on its website said the licenses totaling 179 Microfinance banks, three finance companies, and four Primary Mortgage banks were revoked for their failure to meet up with the type of business for which their licenses were issued for a continuous period of 6 months.

Citing the CBN’s Banks And Other Financial Institutions Act (BOFIA), 2020, ACT NO. 5 the CBN Governor Godwill Emiefele gave reasons why the apex banks decided to revoke their operational licenses.

He stated the reasons as follows:

“WHEREAS : The Microfinance Banks, Finance Companies and Primary Mortgage Banks stated in Schedules I, II and III respectively, hereto, have:

ceased to carry on, in Nigeria, the type of business for which their licenses were issued for a continuous period of 6 months ; (b) failed to fulfil or comply with the conditions subject to which their licences were granted ; or (c) failed to comply with the obligations imposed upon them by the Central Bank of Nigeria in accordance with the provisions of Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act (BOFIA) 2020, Act No. 5.

“NOW THEREFORE, I, Godwin Ifeanyi Emefiele, CON, Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, in exercise of the powers conferred on the Central Bank of Nigeria under Section 12 of BOFIA 2020, Act No.5, hereby revoke the licences of the Microfinance Banks, Finance Companies and Primary Mortgage Banks stated in Schedules I, II and III respectively attached hereto. GIVEN under my hand at Abuja this 22nd May, 2023”.

I have several suggestions for how to report a fraudulent website. But I’m afraid you haven’t given the community members enough information to verify your claim. As a tech expert, and a patron of SMM platforms, I can ask for the following:

1) A screenshot of your dashboard (having your username and the amount you currently have there)
This is to verify your claim that indeed they owe you about N991.

2) Do they have terms? Some of these sites don’t. And using a website without reading the terms is on you! If they have, did you read their terms? Some of these sites have disclaimers which says you shouldn’t use their site as they do not promise 100% guarantee on service provision. If you then go ahead, it means you’ve agreed to their terms.

Send a screenshot of the sign up page (the terms is usually around it which you have to agree to before using the site)

3) From the chat, it seems you’re actually angry because you feel insulted, and not that you are really defrauded. I suggest you demand a refund (whether there’s policy against it or not), once that is done, take down this post, because as a business person, the chat also implicates your character, and may not be great for your PR.

I will go and use the site and return with a feedback and proofs of my experience.
