In my own opinion, let the pastors respond themselves. When the masses are either overly taxed or oppressed, do you hear the pastors attack the govt on social media? If they claim to represent God, let God tell them what to do.

BusinessRe: Ways To Reduce Bank Charges by webgenius234(op): 7:59am On Jul 31, 2020
GuestLog:
Nice post. Another way to save cost is to avoid Access & Access Demon Bank, sorry Access Diamond Bank altogether.
From your experience, which bank is the most reasonable when it comes to charges?
BusinessWays To Reduce Bank Charges by webgenius234(op): 7:27am On Jul 31, 2020
Dear Nairalanders,

It is a common now to hear people complaining about charges from the bank on transactions. Some of us pay as much as #2000 on bank charges from transactions we haven't made so much profit from.

This became more serious after the introduction of stamp duty. So what can we do to reduce these charges.

1. SMS
Most bank users have Android phones. Any transaction done that sms will be sent for, an email will also be sent. An sms charges is around #4 while email is free. If you carry out 100 transactions in a month including buying of recharge cards charges, that is #400 on sms charges alone.

A solution to this is to deactivate sms charges and use only email. It'll save you extra cash in this economy that every Kobo is useful.

2. STAMP DUTY
Since this introduction by CBN, it has affected a lot of us, many of us have just ended up enriching CBN than ourselves. It's only reasonable here to weigh your transactions except it's free money. If you sell an item of #10000. After the money is recieved, the bank charges #50 stamp duty. If the customer can't send #10,050 , why not recieved #9,999 to save yourself from the stamp duty? Or the money is sent twice in the amount of #5000 twice if it's the same bank and it's from the bank app.

3. INSTALLING BANK APP
Another good way to save cost is to install the application of the bank you are using. Using USSD short code isn't so safe and reliable and it also incur charges. I once used the USSD code to transfer from GTB to Diamond bank. I made the transfer once and it delivered thrice. None of the banks proofed helpful in refunding the money. But issues like this haven't occured since the usage of bank apps.

#20 charges are incurred if you make intra bank transfers using but you are not charged for same service using the app.

4. REQUEST FOR BANK STATEMENT
Have you ever needed your bank statement just to verify a transaction and you had to go the bank? Well, you might have just enriched the bank. How? A page of bank transaction costs around #50 and a month's statement can be up to 20 pages for an average bank user. GTB users have detailed and spaced statement so a page might be for less than 10 transactions, making the statement voluminous unlike Access bank. Now instead of spending so much, why not just go to your bank app and request for a statement which will be sent to your email. Download and view. Same purpose have been met with reduced stress and amount. And you can print from home if hard copy is needed.

These few points will really help you to reduce cost on unnecessary charges. Instead of enriching the banks who are already rich, you can save the cost now.

Feel free to add your points to get us all informed.

Autos6 Important Things You Should Know Before Buying A Car by webgenius234(op): 12:32pm On Mar 14, 2020
6 Important Things You Should Know Before Buying a Car

Buying a new vehicle is something that should never be done on a whim. This is an expensive purchase, and you need to put a certain amount of thought into it before you spend a lot of money and end up with a vehicle that isn’t right for you. There are many things to consider before buying a vehicle, so make sure that you take plenty of time before coming to a final decision. Here are six of the most important things to think about before making that purchase.

1. Determine Your Needs
The first thing to consider is the type of vehicle you should buy, based on your particular needs. For instance, if you have children or plan to have children, you will need a vehicle that will accommodate your family. Write down a list of the features you would like, such as a sound system, sunroof, heated seats, etc., and figure out how often and where you will be driving. These are all factors that will determine the type of vehicle that you should be looking for.

2. Don’t Get Unnecessary Extras
You are going to be offered all kinds of extras as a way to get you to pay more for the vehicle. Don’t fall for this. Only take what you want, and don’t be fooled by fast talking sales people. Extras that you don’t really need include paint protection, fabric protection, rust-proofing, and VIN etching unless of course you can afford them and decide that you do want them. Some of the extras can be great to have, but unless they fit into your budget, don’t be talked into anything that isn’t necessary.

3. Figure Out Your Budget
This is actually one of the first things you need to do, because if you don’t set a budget, you could end up with payments that you can’t really afford. You may really want that expensive sports car, but can you really afford it? When looking at your budget, be sure to think about various ways to finance a vehicle. If you have cash on hand, you can make a large down payment and have lower payments. Ask about vehicle financing, talk to your bank about a car loan, and also look at leasing, which is often a great option for those who like to trade up regularly. Don’t forget to include things like car insurance, vehicle registration, and other expenses.

4. Buy the Vehicle, Not the Deal
There are a lot of great deals out there that can keep you from getting the vehicle that you really need. You could end up getting something that is completely wrong for your lifestyle, just because you were offered a deal that you felt you shouldn’t refuse. This goes back to the first tip. Consider your exact driving needs, and make sure that the vehicle you choose fits those needs.

5. Research Brands and Dealers
The more you know about brands and dealers, the more ammunition you will have when it comes to negotiations. Dealers don’t want people to do this research because it means that they will be aware of ways to lower prices. Look into car prices, compare prices between models and brands, and get a variety of price quotes before spending any money.

6. Do an Online Competitive Comparison
You should try to compare at least two or three brands in the same vehicle category in order to find one that is just right for you. There are many brands that offer more value for your money than others do, so it is a good idea to do your research and make lists of the various prices, features, etc. to help you make the best decision.
