For hospitals with good track record of fibroid surgery, check out South shore women's clinic, Dr Alabi, Omni, Premiere, Dr Smith, Lagoon etc. Will recommend Dr Alabi's south shore anyday cos the guy surely knows his onions though expensive cos he does key-hole surgery. Check Google for addresses and contacts info. Above all pray for God to direct you.

Thanks my sis, I'll do just that

@Supermanpatriot, I sincerely don't like responding to issues raised by people like you because doing that will make you feel very important. It may interest you to know that outside this forum, some of us have met in real life severally, we are friends on Facebook, we whatsapp, BBM, we send emails and we call one another alot. Am also happy that through this forum so many people got to know what to do concerning their cases, and God is really helping us.
Let me quickly tell you that you have failed in whatever mission that brought you here. Blendy who often talks about Dr. Emeka and my humble self who often talk about Dr. Shaibu are gainfully employed and can foot any bill by God's grace and cant be used by anyone to deceive anybody. I don't want to abuse you but I will advise you to go look for another thread that you can carry out your mission because this one is too hot for people like you. If you don't heed my advice don't blame me for whatever will happen to you because you wont go scout free. Be warned.
@All, it is well with all of us. I still don't know why T- wallpapers, graceexceed and Abibby wont come in here to share the goodnews of their wonderful set of triplets each. they all have 2boys and a girl each. God is really faithful, they are all doing very well. They all promised coming in here to share their testimonies. Let me hope they will soon do it, otherwise I wont be happy. Its well with the rest of you sisters, God will also give us the reason to rejoice. This is a season for multiple conception, none will be left out in Jesus name.

@ inwangobio amen, @T- wallpapets, graceexceed and Abibby congratulations on the arrival of your triplets. They shall be source of joy to you always. I tap into the anointing of triplets too

Ebube2014:
@Wehnby it depends on the size and location of the Fibroids. Yes any surgical procedure is dangerous especially if you are going to go under general anesthesia(if they will put you to sleep). But if the fibroids is of a remarkable size or poorly located then you need to remove it. Because when you do conceive it could cause a miscarriage (God forbid though).

I did a Fibroids operation in 2010, because i had a fibroid that was blocking one of my tubes. The trick is to find a doctor that a couple of people have used successfully. Again please if you can, do an open surgery as I know a lot of people that did it Laparoscopically that are have issues with miscarriage.

However if the Fibroids is not too big you can successfully do the IVF without removing it. See a good IVF doctor so they can do an ultra sound and look at it and tell you what to do. As per the Low Sperm count, supplements like Folic Acid and Zinc might help to boost the sperm count.

My dear all the best and welcome to the trend and may your stay here be fruitful and short.

@ Ebube 2014 thanks, which hospital did you do the surgery? My problem is I don't know which one to go

Marc9:

Well, it depends on the kind(location) of fibroids and the size of the fibroid.

If the size is not larger than 5cm, and not intramural or submucosal fibroids, then it shouldn't hinder implantation. In as much as fibroids are estrogen and progesterone dependent, they might not threaten the cyesis if implantation was successful.

But if the fibroids are larger than or up to 5cm, and are intramural or submucosal, then surgical removal is imperative.

So, before you go for IVF, let the gynae indicate a pelvic scan to know what location the fibroids are, and its size. IVF is quite expensive for you to resort to without resolving the fibroids

Thank you Marc9

Hello Doc, I have been following this thread for sometime now. I will like to seek your opinion here. I have been diagnosed with fibroids and my husband with low sperm count, we have been trying for a child for about five years now. I'm scared of going through surgery because of all the things I've heard concerning people that went for surgery and so many things happened along the line. Its either they die in the process or they find it difficult to conceive after that. I want to know if I can do IVF/IUI without removing the fibroids, please I need your opinion urgently.

Guess you're not in Nigeria hence you would have known by now that people hardly talk about IVF/ICSI and other assisted reproductory technology publicly. Don't know why IVF is still a hush hush thing here in Nigeria. People have this mentality that your child is looked down on if they knew it was conceived via IVF. And so my dear, you will hardly find people who are ready to discuss their IVF ordeal. The annoying aspect of it is that, even when you catch your friends in IVF centers here, most of them still deny its IVF they went there for except when they are sure you also went there for same reasons.
Here they use Humog for stimulation, pregnyl for ovulation triggering and cyclogest after ET. I doubt if they do belly injections here. My experience in 2 different centers was stimulating inj on the bum. I wish you all the best.
