They said Tinubu is a political strategist. I think it's more like a political amateur. His South West hold is now divided, allowing LP and PDP to pouch for votes freely. He has nothing from the SS and SE. Is it only the votes from NW and NE that can make him President? As it stand, Atiku will do better than Tinubu in the regions he's hoping to get bloc votes while Obi's Bloc votes is certain in all Christian dominated States.

Tinubu is just like a Pep Guardiola that got to the Champions Leauge final and over-analysed himself. A church was just attacked with over 50 people killed in Owo by Fulani Jihadists and Deborah was stoned and burnt in Sokoto. The Country has been under fear of islamisation due to buhari's nepotisim for 8 years and because of votes he went Muslim Muslim ticket. In Nigeria of today. Tinubu wont win 25% in 11 states of SE and SS. PDP and LP will have all Christians vote against APC in SW. North Central Christians are eagerly waiting for him while Atiku and Kwankwanso will share the votes adequately with him in NE and NC. He literarily has no where to get block votes from. He wont even get a run-off election. Jagaban finally dribbled himself. Expect mass defections from APC as the elections draw nearer

Romance / Re: I Would Be 29 By October And I'm Loosing My Mind by WENGERNOMICS(m): 7:52am On May 30, 2022
ebijimi7:
Good day guys, I've been on this forum for a while now and I've learnt a lot from you guys via threads here on nairaland.
To cut the story short and not bore you, I'm a 28 year old guy and will be 29 by October knowing that I've finally grown to be an adult is really getting me frustrated and depressed because of a lot of responsibilities that comes with it,
Although I've been a hustler from a very tender age (16) I had an irresponsible father who doesn't care about me and my sibling instead of him to take care of us with the money he made he would rather spend that money on woman. Leaving my sibling and mum to starve.
My dad had only one chance to turn my life around when I needed him most, he refuse to help me, because I went for a scholarship exam when I was in school and I was among the lucky 10 that was picked and I was offered to come and learn networking for a token fee of #50,000 naira then instead of the normal 450k but my dad refuse to pay telling me he doesn't have money, I cried and begged him to please help me my dad kept saying he doesn't have money and this happened immediately after I finished my ssce exam then, now my dad said he doesn't have money but that year he abandoned me and my mum and sibling at my grand mother's house because my grandma built her own house, for years we didn't hear from him or get to see him.
My mum would call and beg him for money for food he would curse her , later we found out he was living with another woman and he got another apartment for 300k and this same man said ge doesn't have money to sponsor me for a tech skill I wanted to acquire. So when my dad was not ready to help I had to seek for a job to take care of my mum and sibling because my mum business went down and we were not having anything to eat, so I got a factory job I would work from 7am to 7pm even with that machine almost chopped off my index finger I still had to go to work just for my family to eat my mum kept crying and calling my dad, he ignored us and for God so good he opened a way for me and got a better job offer, I gain admission in yabatech I wanted to pay 75k for school fee I had 50k my mum begged my dad to borrow me 25k that I would refund it, my dad shouted at my mum that he doesn't have anything to give to me if he doesn't pay his rent first(omo I regretted coming to earth through that man).
To cut the long story short, I am getting depressed because I'm still staying in my granny's house and I want to leave but I'm currently building for my mum and I want to build mine too and get married but the pressure is much because I feel I'm running out of time and my girlfriend is on my neck that we should get married (although she has been very supportive) but I felt I don't have time on my side again because now I need to rent an apartment and also finish the house I'm building for my mum but I'm not earning much and all these on a mere salary of 60k I'm really frustrated and if I should get an apartment while building its going to slow down the progress of the building and I really want to gift this to my mum for her 60th birthday which is in 3 years time (that woman deserve to be happy I love her so much) and I also needed to get married and start having my children adult hood is not easy
Please I need you guys advice as I'm getting really frustrated.

Guy..............1st thing .................RELAX!!!!!!!!!!! Just calm down

2nd thing...............Shelve marriage entirely for now..........Don't add additional burden. Let your girlfriend move on with her life if she cant wait for you. 3-5 Years and you'd be ready

Number 3: Stop both housing projects immediately and pump the money into heavy skill development. Money is nothing than just a medium to exchange value. Increase your Value by heavy skill development and money will find you. If you can, learn how to Code or how to trade FX professionally or how to do graphics design or find some other high value skill and learn it aggressively. You can even do 3-4 at a time if you have the funds and time.

Number 4: Build a positive mental attitude. Dont allow peers and family pressure you. Life no be competition. You are in a race against your self, your destiny is in God. You can show your mum love without building the house. You can survive without marrying now. Don't rush into financial responsibility or debt because you want to maintain status. Just believe in the process and take it 1 step at a time

Number 5: Hold God tight. Most important advice. Life will push you to the limit and beyond. GRACE/FAVOUR is better than SKILLS. What is on your head is what determines what is around you. Hold God tight. Find a good church and serve God with all your might. Sit down with the Bible and find good books and learn how God blesses, how faith works, how the spirit world functions etc. If the Grace of God lands on your head, God can compress 10 years and put it inside 1 year for you. God's FAVOUR can wipe your SWEAT and STRUGGLE away like a dream. So spend time chasing God (I did not say chase men of God ohhhh). Chase God and God will make you. Promotion does not come from east, west or south but God .And when God promotes you, No man can demote you

Number 6: Stay away from EVIL. Life does not do short-cuts. Anything you compromise on your journey, you will pay for in future. Just believe in the process and stay away from EVIL

Number 7: Finally................FORGIVE your Father fully, completely and totally. You will not move forward carrying any grudge in your heart. Forgive him. You cant tell what he has gone through. I am not excusing his bad behaviour but forgive him and if possible, look for him and bless him in anyway you can. Fatherhood is an office. Bless him because one day you will become a Father and you wont be perfect. If he's still around when you finally blow, bless him with money or material stuff and make sure he blesses you. Life is a mystery. Just forgive and do it.

Frenzy01:
Gaari dey house, but e no dey propel me at all that very moment so I proceeded to go outside and check out if I could find anything eatable as the hunger was so excruciating and I couldn't even see well. But before that I made sure I disposed any sharp object like knife, scissors and even forks before leaving my room cos believe me.. The thought of using one of em was beginning to crop up in my mind..
Everywhere was dark when I left my room but I couldn't go back inside plus I thought it would be OK if I walk about a bit.
I walked up to the first place where I had hoped to get something to eat, I knocked and knocked for several minutes to no response and proceeded to go to the second and the third place.. It was at this third place I decided not to leave the woman's doorstep until she come outside to sell whatever it is I wanted to buy for me.. I begged and begged the woman for about 15 minutes before she reluctantly came outside to attend to me.. At that very point, I knew I would eventually survive the scare but half my brain is still not functioning properly to the extent that I forgot everything I went to buy where I bought it and had to go back after getting home to retrieve them back.
Bread, lucozade boost, milk, biscuit, groundnut are just some of the stuffs I bought and was eating some on my way home when I saw the scariest thing that night.. It was an old torn newspaper lying on the road and my torchlight suddenly flashed on it.. I was practically petrified when I saw OBITUARY boldly written on it. I was shocked and I begin to wonder why it was that particular time i should see something like that of all days.
This newspaper scared me a lot but it also played a great role in calming me down cos I could see that it was my mind playing some silly tricks with me and I could fathom everything that happened that very night as the devil's work.
I got home and ate everything I bought and in my bid to stay awake as much as I can.. I lighted up. My gas and started cooking some yams which I had no intention of eating.

The next morning when I woke up and saw the break of dawn.. No one could imagine how happy I was and that very morning I made up my mind never to touch weed again.. But lo and behold my very good people.. I'm typing this with a tie of AZ in my hand sad

PS: Before anyone would come here and type nonsense in the name of advice, keep it.. No one forced me to relate my experience and I know the benefits and harmful effect of cannabis. My advice only for anyone reading this is to cut it low and fight the addiction as much as you could. Morning oo

I am not you but if I were you, I'd take the obituary paper as a final warning many people did not get. Seek for rehab help fast. Reducing an addiction is only a mental trick to make you continue until there is no way back. I have never met anyone who had a pleasant tale at the end of their cannabis addiction experience.

I am planning to marry her. We Have courted for one year.

I have caught her stealing my money twice but in all cases, she wept, knelt and begged me, saying it is the spirit of succubus and incubus that makes her do that.

I forgave her because I am mad over this girl. I so love her.

Now I caught her via her phone chats, that she has been deleting her chats with a guy she claims is her classmate. After not talking to her for two days, she wept and knelt to beg me, confessing that, the guy has proposed to her and that the spirits of succubus and incubus made her delete the chats.

She says I should take her to a prophet for deliverance.

I so love her

Please what do you advise?

Thanks

By the time you are 1-2 years married, this love would have clear from your eyes totally.

Then you will realize it was anti- succubus and anti-incubbus spirit that was giving you sign to run away.

Business / Re: Dangote Refinery Rules Out 2020, As Refinery Gets New Date by WENGERNOMICS(m): 7:08pm On Oct 31, 2019
nwakibie3:
Dangote Group has announced that its refinery would be commissioned by the end of first half in 2021.

The Group Executive Director, Dangote Group, Devakumar Edwin, explained that when commissioned, the facility would meet 100% need of the country and export balance.

When production starts, the refinery will be able to process 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day into refined petroleum products. This will help Nigeria become an oil refining country and oil exporter as the country’s refineries are in dilapidated state. The capacity of the Dangote Refinery would eliminate fuel import from other regions into Nigeria.

No crude-for-fuel swap deal: Edwin also stated that the Dangote refinery would not be involved in NNPC’s (Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation) crude-for-fuel swap deal.

“We are going to buy the crude just at the export price and will sell our products at the import price, the crude swap is operating only for the importers of the product.”

Pipeline out of delivery routes: In a previous report by Nairametrics, Edwin disclosed that the plan is to transport the refined petroleum products by road and through the seaports when it begins operation. He also stated that the fuel produced by Dangote Refinery would be delivered by shuttle boats to Warri and Calabar while other deliveries would go in trucks.

Dangote eyes European and American markets: The company also has its sight on other markets which include Europe and Latin America. These markets would have diesel, gasoline and other fuels delivered to them. The diesel is expected to meet winter standard in Europe, with high quality that will make it suited for any market.

Dangote gunning for European refineries’ market: The Dangote refinery will be a problem for European refinery because they will be competing in the same market in West Africa. Most of the gasoline consumed in West Africa is supplied by European refinery, and with African leaders supporting the operation of Dangote Refinery, the status quo is expected to change.

This has to do with old beliefs. Can you elaborate on the killing mbaise before snake talk?

It's just a usual proverb in Igbo land. Like you said, it's old beliefs. They say Mbaise people are as cunning and more dangerous than snakes and so one must be wary of them.

I have a good friend who is married from there and his wife is a great person. Nothing of such. But. I also have a former coworker who uses me to do practical. She is a physical evidence of that proverb. Raw and undiluted.

So advice is that on very serious matters like marriage, you must be convinced in your heart that this is the right thing......then trust God

But is there any tribe that does not have wicked people?

As for Mbaise, the gist is that if you see a snake and see an Mbaise person, kill the Mbaise person 1st and leave the snake. Unfortunately, I did not heed that proverb and I encounter one Mbaise person that explained it to me practically .

That said, I still don't believe every single person from there is worse than a snake.

In summary Sha, stereotypes are bad. Na tribalism and religion dey kill Naija!

Met a top official of Ikeja distribution company and he told me that they can buy enough power to give everybody @least 20hrs power but the don't recoup d money from sales. I almost felt like crying

This was why Ikeja distribution signed a contract with Magodo phase 2 resident association and now we have 22 hours light per day every day non stop. It's just that every single house has prepaid meter and cost of power has doubled.

But it's still better than buying diesel/ fuel.

I can bet, Nigerias power issue is just the greed of a few thieves who want to rip off the country for their benefit.

If you can't read this short post, don't bother commenting.

So Malami and Osinbajo would have acted before coming to the offices in 2011?

Are you that fractured that you can't reason again?

Oga, take your time and read the post line by line. Everything is not politics ,(APC v PDP). Nobody is fighting you. It started under PDP but none of this mess would have happened if this govt did not sign.

The eventual go ahead that put the country in trouble was with Osinbajo and Malami signing even though those under them refused to budge.

Didn't you read that the Justice Minister under GEJ refused thrice to give an approval for the go ahead?

Just read the entire post thoroughly.

By the way, what makes it worse is that Seven energy was neck deep in Deziani/Aluko/Omokore scandal and this administration still signed. It's the same consortium.

Question is how do we explain that we have Osinbajo and Malami..... 2 SANs who should understand these contracts and agreements.......blindly signing off the country into a situation that was clearly not sustainable.

Simple, Accugas is definitely owned by some large interests that kept forcing the contract down the throat of the country.

jesusjnr:
Nice one from Oyedepo, however he still has a long way to go, considering the amount involved here (N.65 Billion) in comparison with that of the aircraft he recently purchased (N2.5 billion) amongst others, for it's only when he starts getting to the point where that riches he accumulates begin to pale in comparison to that which he distributes, that he would know that he has gotten somewhere.

Also very importantly he has to stop mocking the poor and needy and also discouraging people from helping them, for that was the basis of his heresy concerning Job not tithing, for since Job was the known as the father of the poor, being a well known mocker of the poor that he is, he wanted to by all means give people the idea that just giving to the poor and needy alone would not make God rebuke the devourer for one's sake.

And I don't think God would have been happy with that for God doesn't use the poor and needy to play, so no true friend of God is an enemy of the poor, and I believe that Job attitude towards the poor was one thing which set him apart in the sight of God, and hence one of the reasons God proudly showcased him to the devil.

So obviously that's a leaf that Oyedepo can take from Job's life for him to be able to command the same kind of respect from God.

For that is also in accordance with the teachings of Jesus and the example which His disciples had followed when the church first began, which is riches by distribution not by accumulation:

Acts 4:32, 34-35 (KJV)

32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
35 And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

So until Oyedepo's church gets to this point where none of his members have lack, he should not see himself as a rich man.

God bless.

Oga what are you saying?

Even God who is the wealthiest in the universe still has genuine children who are very poor.

Jesus allowed a woman to pour a month salary worth of perfume on him instead of giving to the poor.

Do you think this is the only philanthropy Oyedepo has done?

The best way is to teach and empower people out of poverty and not just welfare.

Honestly it's not your fault. It's Social media I blame. Anyone can just say anything and sound smart.

Oyedepo must be doing something that made Covenant University undisputed no 1 in Nigeria and No 4 in Africa after just 17 years.
Oyedepo must have some strong jazz that is making 300,000 people and counting come to listen to him every Sunday morning.
Oyedepo must have a solid administrative mind to over see a work force of 40,000 people and pay salary monthly.
Oyedepo must have a solid mind to have authored 110 books translated to even Chinese language
Oyedepo must be an unusual person to have 2 universities and building about 5 more.
Oyedepo must be doing something that has made IMF/Worldbank to give Covenant University the right to host it's 75th anniversary meeting in July 2020

Story for the gods!

I know many living faith members who are in abject poverty today, yet they have to pay tithe from the little money they make. Covenant university was built from the proceeds of tithes paid by poor church members yet those members can't afford to send their wards to the university!
Is that your only beef with Oyedepo......that Covenant University is not free?
Where did you keep your ears when Landmark University gave full scholarship to all Winner Church members who had a JAMB score.....in 2013
Where did you keep your ears when over N500m is reserved for scholarship of indigent members annually?

This is serious.

However, I disagree with those who say that the demand is higher in Enugu.

Enugu cannot compete with Lagos in terms of demand for China trips. Enugu and surrounding states combined cannot boasts of regular China visitors like those in markets like Alaba, Aspamda, Computer Village, Idumota, Ladipo, Oshodi, Balogun/Nnamdi Azikiwe street, etc.

Except they believe that traders in Lagos travel to Enugu in order to board flights to China.

It only makes sense that to attract patronage, airlines should decrease the cost of their airfare.

And for those who have reduced this discussion to a tribal war, note that the airlines in questions are foreign ones.

What kind of useless lie is this? Why do people enjoy doing this ! And they know it is a lie. This was at the 2nd Tony Elumelu Entreprenurship Program that was done in Covenant University in 2016

The 'pastor' responsible for this should be ashamed of himself. Kemi can be annoying but this has gotten out of hand. Detaining a woman this long without trial? These people will certainly take christianity to its lowest ebb. For every Christian that will jump in here to defend this evil act all I have to say is you should not have the moral stand to criticise Buhari if he does same because a supposed man of God who should be an epitome of proper conduct; 'the light of the world' has done same. I weep for the church!

Romance / Re: At 22 I've Never Had A Girlfriend. Is This A Problem? by WENGERNOMICS(m): 8:47am On Dec 26, 2017
Vibesking:

Throughout my teenage years I never indulged in anything that is remotely considered as youthful exuberances. No parties.. No hangouts.. No rebellion.. No fun.. No girls.

I'm what you'll consider as a pretty decent kid. Been always studious and devote. I felt those stuff were distractions and a waste of time. so I was always buried in books and church activities.

I thought being uptight and serious would make me "successful" . Unfortunately.... It appears I might have been wrong. I see my friends who practically live in orgies and revelries enjoy life and still have things work fine for them. So I guess screw seriousness!

Recently I've been having a strange feeling of emptiness. I read up some books and most suggested that lack of love/companionship can be a major reason for feelings of emptiness.

It then dawned on me that I've never asked a girl out in my entire life. I've never dated. I never thought it was a big deal and I pretty enjoy my company alone. I assumed I'll get a girl when am ready for marriage. But hey... I don't even know if I'll be alive that long (tomorrow isn't guaranteed).

I've recently been feeling very lonely .. do you think it's a problem I've never experienced relationship with a girl at my age? I'll be 23 next year.

I don't care about intimacy cus you can easily get that without dating no body.

Constructive suggestions please

Guy.......take this advice very seriously. My Pastor gave it to me when i was 15. There is absolutely no need to get involved with any woman on intimate/girlfriend/dating levels until you are ready to get married within the next 1 -2 years. I am married now and that was one of the best advice i had ever received. Marriage/ or a woman wont solve your loneliness. You need to be completely comfortable with yourself. Focus on your goals and drive at them. There is absolutely nothing wrong with you. It does not mean you cannot hangout with good friends and do fun stuff. But be careful who you call a friend. In the next 10 years, you will understand what i am talking about. But consider my advice. You can have good female friends with nothing attached until you are ready to really settle down. Another thing, if you can, try not to share your body with anyone except your wife. Anybody you sleep with never ever leaves your life. Its a spiritual act and spiritual things cannot be wiped off by just a hot bath. These are things i cant fully explain but you dont have a spare life. Many things people call fun these days are just a total waste of time. Finally, find a mentor. Someone who has gone ahead of you and has more experience than you.

Cheers boss
