The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, on Wednesday promised to flush out internet fraudsters popularly known as ‘yahoo yahoo boys’ from the state.


The governor, who spoke in his maiden broadcast to people of the state, said he would launch Operation Flush Out Criminals, to tackle kidnapping and all forms of crimes in the state.



The governor said, “We shall create a Neighbourhood Security Watch code-named ‘North East West.’

“It will involve a coordinated network of Community Intelligence Gathering Programme in liaison with the NPF, DSS, NSCDC, NSO and some private security companies.



“In tandem, we shall launch Operation “FOC,” (Flush Out Criminals) – a combined security operations targeted at flashpoints and centres of high criminal activities, including hideouts, jungles, uncompleted buildings, forest, shrines, lakes and the creeks.



“Whether in Ohaji Egbema, or Nwaorieubi Shrine at Ifakala, or in the thick jungle at Akokwa, or Njaba or Urashi, we shall rout them and free our society of the menace of banditry, kidnappings, and ritual killings including Yahoo-Plus, and Alibaba Gangstars. It shall be a “SAD” season for criminals in Imo State.”

Uzodinma said community leaders, traditional rulers and leaders of town unions, would partner his administration in tackling insecurity.



He said, “Community leaders, traditional rulers and town union presidents, shall be held responsible for any security lapses within their domain.



“Failure to report, concealing or benefiting directly or indirectly from proceeds of criminal activities, shall attract maximum punishment.”

A mentally challenged woman has welcomed a baby boy in Anambra state after being rescued and rushed to Onitsha General Hospital in the state.
It was gathered that the lady was rescued and assisted after the Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Lady Ndidi Mezue received a distress call from a concerned citizen.

Governor Willie Obiano’s Special Assistant on New Media, Vincent O Ezechukwu revealed in a statement that the Honorable Commissioner, swung into action and immediately seek the assistance of the Women Development Officer (WDO)Of Onitsha North local government area who with a nurse rushed the woman to Onitsha General Hospital, where she was delivered of a bouncing baby boy.

Ezechukwu also disclosed that another mentally challenged woman, who is heavily pregnant, was rescued by the ministry’s security team and taken to a government facility where she will be cared for until her due date of delivery.

lecturer that collected N250,000 from an admission seeker is standing trial at Ojo Magistrate Court in Lagos.
Obi is charged with three counts of false pretence, fraud and stealing.

The prosecutor, Insp. Simon Uche, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Nov. 1, 2019 in Lagos.

He alleged that the defendant presented himself as lecturer from the University of Lagos to one Lucky Ikeduba.

The prosecution also alleged that the accused lied to Ikeduba that he can secure admission into the university.

According to prosecution, the defendant requested and obtained N250,000 from the complainant to ”facilitate” the admission process.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 78, 287, 314 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the offence. Magistrate A.A. Adesanya admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.

He adjourned the case until March 4, for mention.

A 25-year-old cobbler, Olamide Babayemi, has been arrested for molesting a 22-year-old Microbiology graduate and sharing the victim’s Nood video with his friends.
The suspect was arrested, following a report by the victim, who had gone to the Redeemed Camp police station and reported that she gave the sum of N18,000 to the shoemaker to buy a handset for her.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Ogun State, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the victim explained further that the shoemaker, who refused to either buy the handset or refund her money, suddenly called her on January 2 to come to Greenland Estate in Mowe and collect the phone.

“The victim said on getting there, the suspect forcefully removed all her clothes and raped her.
After forcefully having carnal knowledge of her, Babayemi soaked her clothes in water and used his phone to record her naked video, which he started sending to some of his friends.
When he realized that the victim might report him to the police, he made an attempt to snuff life out of her but she was lucky when her mother called him on phone to come and meet her at the gate of the Estate, which gave her the opportunity to escape.”
On interrogation, the suspect, who claimed to be the victim’s boyfriend, confessed committing the crime, but blamed the girl for calling it quits with her after she graduated from the university.

When asked for the reason behind the recording the lady’s unclothedness, he said he did that so as to prevent her from reporting him to the police.

Singer, Eedris Abdulkareem, was a guest on Channels TV on Sunday January 12th where he said he feels vindicated 18 years after he released his hit song, ‘Nigeria Jaga Jaga’.


The song “Jaga Jaga”, which projected corruption and suffering in Nigeria, was released in 2002 and caused a lot of controversies.

The song was banned from radio by the Federal Government but was still played at nightclubs.

Jaga Jaga is a term which has been used to describe something in a state of chaos or disarray.

During the interview, Eedris said

A pastor in a bus in Anambra was beaten to stupor because condom fell off from his Bible after preaching.

Toke Makinwa has criticized “all” African parents, dubbing them the “worst in the world” for “ruining lives” with unorthodox child-raising values.
The 35-year-old OAP took to a recent episode of her vlog where she vented her grievances about the parenting values among many African families which she said are “screwing up” lives.

Makinwa also spoke on issues spanning parents’ intolerance for opposite-sex friendship, their dictative stance on career choices, as well as their “penchant” for instilling fear in children.

“Thanks to African parents for ruining our lives. Growing up in an African home, there are certain things we never had the balls to say. Even now, I’m 35. I still can’t stand up to my parents,” she said.

“African parents are the worst set of parents in the whole wide world. You never have an option on things that are coming in an African home. As a child, you’re told what to read in school.

“They don’t tell you what you’re good at but what they think you should be doing. It’s like, ‘I want to have a doctor, so my child must read medicine.’ Even if you do shit in maths, you’ll be an accountant.

“African parents don’t apologize. They’re never wrong. Doesn’t that bother you? How dare you say they are wrong? You almost become less confident because of the scoldings of an African mother.”

While addressing her relationship with her parents, Makinwa said she still looks away when sex scenes play out on TV in the presence of her mother — even at the age of 35.

She added that the failure of African parents to discuss matters regarding sex and their prohibitory stance on having boyfriends has caused many to have relationship problems in adulthood.

“Our parents have sex. But we can’t envision it. Things happened to me: If a boy calls you on the phone or writes a love letter, you’re finished! Going to church? We did it because they wanted us to,” she added.

“They told us to stay away from boys. We did for so long that we don’t have boyfriends. But when you’re older and are yet to marry, they call all sorts of pastors to pray for you. Something is wrong!”

Although she decried the harsh terms to which many African parents subject their wards, Toke agreed that many would have gone astray if such reservedness and deprivations weren’t in place.

At least two people have been killed and six injured after an 11-year-old boy entered a school in northern Mexico with two handguns and opened fire.

The shooting took place on Friday morning in the city of Torreón, in Coahuila state.

One of the dead was reportedly a female teacher, with some reports suggesting she had been the shooter’s target. The other was the shooter, who police said had killed himself.

A graphic photograph published by Mexican news outlets showed what appeared to be the body of a young boy splayed out in a pool of blood, with a handgun lying on the ground.

Police chief Maurilio Ochoa told reporters six people had been wounded – five schoolchildren and a teacher – with two in a “delicate” condition in hospital.

Ochoa said the shooter was believed to have entered his school with two weapons: a small-calibre handgun and a high-calibre weapon. The boy’s parents and grandmother, with whom he lived, had said they had no idea how he acquired the guns.

“This is really regrettable,” Ochoa said, as anxious parents gathered outside the school’s entrance. He suggested backpack searches might be needed to prevent future tragedies.

Torreón’s mayor, Jorge Zermeño, told reporters the causes of the attack were still unclear.

“They tell me he was a boy who had very good grades, who lives – lived – with his grandmother and who certainly suffered some kind of family problem.” He added: “It is very serious, so, so sad, and lamentable to see a primary school student do something like this.”

In an interview with the Mexican news channel Milenio TV, Zermeño called the shooting an “atypical situation” that did not speak to the “peaceful society” that was Torreón. “This is a city that likes to work and likes to live in peace,” he said.

Coahuila state’s governor, Miguel Ángel Riquelme, told reporters there were suspicions the shooter had been influenced by a video game called Natural Selection.

Before carrying out the shooting the boy – who has not been identified – reputedly told classmates: “Today is the day.”

Despite suffering some of the world’s highest murder rates, school shootings of the kind that blight the US remain relatively rare in Latin America.

In March last year eight students were gunned down in the city of Suzano in Brazil’s São Paulo state.

In 2011 a similar attack at a school in Rio de Janeiro claimed 12 lives.

One of the worst such attacks to take place in Mexico came in 2017 when a 15-year-old student killed himself after shooting four people at a school in the state of Nuevo León.

Mexico’s leftist president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, is battling a major drug-fuelled security crisis which saw more than 31,000 people murdered last year alone.

Five secondary school girls within the age range of 16 to 18 were said to have Rape a Biology teacher to coma in ‎Ayetoro-Itele, a community in Ogun State.

According to reports, the teacher whose identity has been withheld was saved when his neighbour called the local police after he found the man helpless and near lifeless in his room.

It was gathered from the teacher’s neighbour, that five school age girls reportedly walked into the man’s room, a one room apartment, where the teacher was recovering from an undisclosed ailment.

The girls who were reportedly not in their school uniform did not waste time to get down to ‘business’.

The neighbour, while recounting the incident to the police, said:

“I heard voices from inside his room, although faintly, because our rooms are far apart.

“I thought he was merely having some conversation; I heard the moans too but who would think something like that would have happened.

“I found him naked few minutes after the girls left as I wanted to check on his health and so I called the attention of the nearest police.”

The man was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and treatment has since commenced on him by doctors and nurses on duty, ElombahNews reports.

Police have assured the public that investigation has begun in earnest to fish out those behind the evil act.

A man who robbed a pharmacy in Philadelphia says he robs because he needed the money to pay for his sick child.

CNN reports that the suspect, who wore a grey hoodie and dark gloves, took an item to the register then handed a note to the employee that read in part, “Give me all the money. I’m sorry, I have a sick child. You have 15 seconds.”

A video from the robbery attack shows the clerk opening the cash register and putting money into the same plastic bag the suspect used to purchase his item.

Philadelphia Police Capt. Sekou Kinebrew told 3 CBS Philly;

“We certainly understand that people have needs. That’s just not the way to go about fulfilling those needs,”

“There may be some specialized services for this individual and his family that he could be in need of, too. Unfortunately, the only way at this point he may be able to get them, is if he comes in and sees us,” Kinebrew added.
