Well stated. Sentiments and tribalism aside, Gbadebo was not a good fit as Lagos Governor.
Someone that went to MIT is not fit to be a governor in Nigeria?

A LARGE PORTION of ya'll in Nigeria have lost your senses, it seems.

MIT grad is not fit, but Lagos College 4 year early grad is fit.

Upside down country.

You guys have no love for your own kind, or even your family, cause there is no way you would wish to be ruled by sub-par people.

If you have to go to the Doctor tomorrow, I wonder if you won't pick a highly skilled IVY league med graduate if you could, but for the rest of your people in Nigeria, such a person is not fit.

How do you guys think sef in this country? It hurts my brain.

I'm sure you're the type to say Elon Musk is not fit, even though the guy could literally transform Naij in like a year, but it is a 1970 graduate from a school established in 1974 that you will throw all your support for.

Damn! I don't get it, I really don't.

Foreign AffairsIn 1910s American Cities Already Had Sidewalks. In 2023, Nigeria Has Open Gutter by whatisthetruth(op): 9:42pm On Oct 31, 2023
See Newyork in 1910s, no open gutter (pic 1)

That is over 100 YEARS AGO

DID YOU HEAR ME? I SAID 100 YEARS AGO

but Nigeria today 2023 still has no sidewalks, pedestrians competing with cars on the road, open gutters everywhere, overgrown grass and weeds on the side of roads...(pic 2).

Should I cry? I'm feeling emotional.

Like is there something wrong with us?

PoliticsRe: Why Is It Still So Expensive To Export From Nigeria? by whatisthetruth(op): 9:11pm On Oct 31, 2023
kcprince:
A lot happens . I have exported all manner of things from Nigeria. And below are my observations :

1. Exports from nigeria are more expensive than other countries. If you try to export soyabeans, palm oil and ginger you will be discouraged by the prices the buyer gives you because there are other countries that sell cheaper .
2. Most export materials are gotten from the villages so you have to transport to a state with port. A lot of export expenses goes into road expenses( each checkpoint has a fixed amount , plus the touts on the road collecting produce tax) ,
3. Community taxes also makes things expensive: you will settle king, youth , elders etc
4. If you do your export on a large scale , you will attract state and local government officials who will tax you without pity.

At the end of all these the international buyer still expects your price to be same as other west African Nations .
While all these factors you listed are valid, only point 3 and 4 sort of address the issues of "ease of business" in Nigeria.

We should have leaders by now that are concerned enough to streamline processes and monitor them, even if it means installing cheap cameras in every single government office and on every law enforcer and other macroscopic ideas to facilitate ease of business.

PoliticsNigeria Made A Lawyer Power Minster (it Failed) Now Another One Is Aviation Min? by whatisthetruth(op): 5:36pm On Oct 29, 2023
Reasonable people were shouting like how can you make a lawyer Fashola, power minister?

Is he an Engineer? Has he ever been? Electrical, chemical, computer science, mechanical...? Can he at least cross over if was ever any type of engineer before? Like go from Electrical to Chemical Engineering and try to understand?

Of course, the APC maggots like mynd44 who are constantly against the development of our country were encouraging such an aberration.

We all know how that turned out.

Now they made a propaganda lawyer, Fetus Keyamo, Aviation Minister.

This Nigeria ehn, I don't understand.

Now this one is posting pics of his visit to Texas aviation bla bla bla, spending scarce FX to go and learn aviation in TX.

How much do you think he will understand? Maybe on the flight back sef, he would have already forgotten everything.

Chai Nigeria.

INEC said there was a "glitch" but was never punished or even asked to explain the "glitch" to prevent it's re-occurrence. If you watch plane crash videos, you'd see the level of investigation that goes into each crash to learn from the issue ensuring it NEVER re-occurs.

.......

Then Yarimo as a local guy will come and post smileys, as a typical Neegaah, saying yen yen yen, wailer, hobie, like the local neegah he is, devoid of any real progressive thought.

When I think of you Yarimo, I remember how our ancestors used to be naked in the jungle or wearing leaves to cover their crotch, shouting "Ah Bu Ga Bu Ga Shooo, Ah Bu Ga Bu Ga shooo"

Caveman Yarimo, they brought you into the city but you still can't assimilate with humans, longing for the simplicity that came with your wild buffalo community, wanting all of us to move back to the jungle, mtcheew

Only nigerians can rise up and change the narrative of Nigeria
but you have people in Nigeria constantly in support of the evil done against the people by politicians.

For example, a Nairaland moderator, MYND44 supported a Buhari and now a Tinubu, even when Tinubus application showed he graduated school in 1970 when the school was founded in 1974. A whole moderator here will see such aberration and continue his support, calling white black.

These are the kinds of house slaves that would fight against our liberation.

Oya Yarimo, come and tell us how IREV is not necessary, how technology is not necessary, how we should be happy and proud of the backwardness of Nigeria.

This is where you shine Yarimo. The true patriot of Nigeria who is against electronic voting or counting even if just for redundancy.

Waiting for your smiley face post.

Meanwhile you can even post smiley, but your INEC can't post PNG with 300 billion ba?

Oh look, I'm better than INEC cause I can transmit images to nairaland server.

Wonderful!

PoliticsRe: 444 Years Of Min Wage To Buy One SUV Of 160 Million Naira by whatisthetruth(op): 3:54pm On Oct 28, 2023
That is how many lifetimes of a min wage Nigerian earner??

If average age is 70 yrs, then even after 6 life-times, a min wage salary earner would still not be able to afford this vehicle. That is you live to 70, save all your money, die and do it all again 6 times, yet you still can't afford the vehicle given to a so called "representative" of the people.

Is this possible in Amercia for instance were min wage could be as high as $15 per hour and yet senators don't get million dollar vehicles.

Nigeria is broke, Nigeria is broke

Yet you want to use 444 years of min wage salary to buy SUV for each MAN because he is so called "leader"?

WHO ARE THEY LEADING

Almost in tears right now, and I vote for protest of straight up hanging of these criminals.

Explanations matter, or are we to believe the old adage of a book being the best place to hide things from a black man?

Nothing matters to you

What pains me most is Nigerians celebrates and make excuses for bad leaders. The Naira has crashed multiple times and you'll hear someone say Tinubu knows what he's doing, the price of fuel crashed like 2-3 times an average Nigerian willl tell you it's for our own good. They did this same thing for Buhari and now Tinubu.
Someone who stole from the neighborhood is beaten and sometimes even killed but the person that stole from the nation is protected by police, celebrated by the same Nigerians.

We have been "ruled" we haven't experienced "leadership" yet, we have been ruled by the same set of people and want to see change? How? Online I'll see young people fighting and insulting each other, Tinubu, atikulated and obidients. Meanwhile this is not about the future of this nation. Some of us have turned political parties to football club. Where or not your candidate is Good you keep supporting them. If you can't think about yourself please think about our kids growing up. This is not how life ought to be lived. Nigeria is currently one of the worst places to live on earth and people are here supporting their oppressors until we wake up thes guys will have a filed day.
Then some will have the guts to say "Even if Jesus was in charge, nothing will change...", like for real? How dare you?

Some Nigerians always support the worst of the worst, from a coup plotter to a certificate forger, then they have the audacity to compare such characters to Jesus Christ, chai!

If you want to support evil like yarimo, seunmsg, mynd44, legendhero and the rest, then come out and say "I support evil" and "never want my people to prosper", don't come and be saying "Even if Jesus...", rubbish!
